A Study on the Anti-Spalling Performance of High-Strength Concrete Members by covered Engineered Cementitious Composite (ECC로 피복된 고강도콘크리트 부재의 폭렬억제성능에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain the fundamental fire resistance performance of engineered cementitious composites (ECC) under fire temperature in order to use the fire protection material in high-strength concrete structures. The present study conducted the experiment to simulate fire temperature by employing of ECC and investigated experimentally the explosion and cracks in heated surface of these ECC. In the experimental studies, 5 HSC specimens are being exposed to fire, in order to exami ne the influence of vari ous parameters (such as depth of layer=20, 30, 40 mm; construction method=lining and repairing type) on the fire performance of HSC structures. Employed temperature curve were ISO 834 criterion (3 hr), which are severe in various criterion of fire temperature in building structures. The numerical regressive analysis and proposed equation to calculate ambient temperature distribution is carried out and verified against the experimental data. By the use of proposed equation, the HSC members subjected to fire loads were designed and discussed.

  • The Fire growth rate(kW/s2) is significant impact on initial fire behavior in fire safety design of buildings. As a result of domestic existing combustibles, this study analyzed considering matters in techniques for calculating caloric values, and then made an investigation sheet. By utilizing written combustion sheets, the study could suggest a standard model at common houses and dense ones after getting caloric value information in dense ones. As a result, fire growth rate is experiment 1(0.01), experiment 2(0.0048), FDS(0.0072), MATSUYAMA equation(0.0144).

  • 최근 초고층구조물 및 대공간구조물등에 대한 소방법의 성능설계등이 법제화되어 시행될 예정으로 있으나 화재성상예측등에 대한 기초적인 연구등이 매우 부족한 실정이며 이에따라 성능설계를 실시하기 위한 기반여건이 매우 취약한 조건이다. 특히 강구조건축물의 경우 초고층구조물의 전형적인 구조형식으로서 성능설계에 대한 연구기반이 조속히 필요한 실정이다. 따라서 본고는 전보에 이어 화재하중등과 밀접한 관련이 있는 가연물조사등과 더불어 이에 대한 이웃 일본건축학회의 강구조건축에 대한 성능적 내화설계방법론중 하중편을 조사하여 향후 국내의 화재하중선정을 위한 기초자료로 사용될수 있도록 하였다.

The Study on the Prediction of Temperature Curve by Compartment Fire Experiment (구획화재실험을 통한 온도 변화 예측 기법 연구)

  • In this study, the Mock-up office space experiments have been performed for the fire behavior analysis of the compartmented space used for the performance-based fire safety design of buildings. Mock-up test was conducted using the compartmented office space dimensions, which are 2.4 m wide, 3.6 m wide, and 2.4 m hight. Test was conducted with the combustible materials such as a desk, a chair, a computer ect. The fire load in the Mock-up office space was $18.74kg/m^2$. As a result, the temperature of the central compartment space to reach $600^{\circ}C$ were 394 to 408 s. The temperature of the corner near the entrance edge to reach $600^{\circ}C$ were 404 to 420 s. At this study, the temperature curve in the compartmented space has been predicted using the temperature data appling the BFD curve. The BFD curve factor based on the fire tests was determined by the maximum temperature of $900^{\circ}C$, 7 min to reach the maximum temperature, and the shape coefficient of 1.5. The initiating fire was rapidly increased to 9 min, and decreased.

  • In many of the developed countries, there have been continuous offers to observe and understand the fire phenomenon for the establishment of fire safety and the development of fire protection technology. In the past, full scale fire experiments have been conducted for the development of the construction technology and the design methods in order to secure the safety of the buildings and the people as well. This study aims at the statistics concerning the structural vulnerablity parts based on the full scale fire experiment in one of the apartment buildings that represents the average households in Korea, thereby acquring the experimental technology, and the basic data needed for the prediction of enclosure fire phenomenon which is critical for the establishment of evalution methods through simulation, and has also presents secured problems concerning the balcony structure and the window types that requires imediate improvement.

  • 도시화재의 연소 확대성상을 모델화하기 위해 화재실의 개구를 통하여 분출하는 열기류의 온도 평가 실험을 실시하였다. 실험은 축소모형 형태로 개구 조건과 화원조건에 의해 진행이 되었다. 실험 결과 온도분포 Trajectory는 개구종횡비 n에 의해 횡정(橫井)의 연구결과와 비교하여 n=2일때를 제외하고는 다른 경향을 나타냈다. 동일 조건에서 분출화재보유열량 $Q_{ef}$은 개구 조건이 횡장창($B0.2m{\times}H0.1m$)이고, 단일개구일 때 가장 높은 값을 나타냈다. 또한, 분출화재의 발생 한계 발열속도 $Q_{verit}$에서도 굴웅아(堀雄児)의 연구와 유사한 결과를 보이며, 다른 개구조건보다 횡장창($B0.2m{\times}H0.1m$)일 때 높은 값을 나타냈다.

Residual strength of spalled high-performance concrete members subjected to fire (화재시 고강도 콘크리트 부재의 폭렬성상에 따른 잔존강도)

  • This study is aimed to investigate the residual strength of fire damaged high-performance concrete flexural and compressive members. The compressive strength of specimens is 55MPa and the main parameter for comparison is the exposure time to fire. In case of beams, the cover thickness made the differences in spalled section area, residual strength and serviceability. The exposure time to fire did not affect on the spalled section area in case of compressive members without loading. However, the residual strength and stiffness was reduced by the time exposed to fire. This study can be used to estimate the performance of fire damaged high-strength concrete structural members for reusing and to give the information for repairing and strengthening.

  • In Korea, buildings are becoming skyscrapers due to restrictions on land. The performance-oriented design was introduced in 2009 for fire safety of such buildings, but the application of the combustible data through engineering design and experiment is a poor reality. Large buildings are used for complex purposes, especially since the density of the office facilities is high, the study conducted a study on the combustible materials of the office facilities and the thermal speed and fire load of the main combustibles of the office facilities were calculated.

The Real Scale Fire Test for Fire Safety in Apartment Housing (실물화재실험을 통한 공동주택의 화재안전성 연구)

  • This study was intended to conduct a Real-scale fire test to predict the fire behavior by unit space at the apartment building where a huge casualties and injuries are likely. After setting the inflammables inside the house, the test aimed to identify the fire characteristics to each unit item was carried out. The house was divided into 4 unit space such as kitchen, living room, bedroom and a study for a real scale fire test. As a result, bedroom reached to flashover state in 5minutes after setting the fire, indicating a rapid fire growth such as 7433.3kW of maximum thermal emissivity, 578.6ppm of carbon monoxide, 1.25ppm of carbon dioxide and $1,350^{\circ}C$ of maximum indoor temperature. Particularly, the fire growth was made up to critical temperature which might cause a severe damage to the people within 3minutes, if the fire were not extinguished at inflammable space at the early stage of fire, which stressed the need of early response. The result of a real scale fire test could be compared with the outcome of expanded simulation test and used in predicting the fire spread at the space for different use.

  • This study investigated to the stability of open car parks below $600^{\circ}C$, as to predict behavior of bare FR steel structure noosed to fire. Especially, This study evaluated deformation of steel structure members of open car parks, considering change of material property by temperature. From the numerical analysis, we know the fact that the deformations comparing of standard values are stable to use the FR steel below 600 $^{\circ}C$ in open car parks plan
