  • The local area weather information is very important element to estimate where the air-pollutant will flow. But the existing NBC hazard prediction model does not consider the local area weather information. So, in this paper, we present SN-HPM that uses the local area wether information to perform more accurate and reliable estimate, and embody it to program.

  • 본 논문에서는 전투무선망에서 효과적인 긴급 메시지 전송 방안에 대한 방안을 제시한다. NCW 환경에서 대대급 이하 전투부대들은 전투무전기와 전술단말기를 활용하여 아군, 적군 위치와 속성정보, 활동 정보 등을 상호간 공유하여 통합적이고 효율적인 전투를 수행해야 하지만, 낮은 대역폭과 낮은 전송속도를 사용할 수밖에 없는 전투무선망을 활용하고 있으므로, 각 노드별 메시지 전송 전송성공률을 높이기 위해 전투무선망의 특성을 반영해야 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 전투무선망에서의 긴급 메시지(적 발견 보고, 화생방 보고 등) 전송 시 부대 운용구조를 활용하여 모든 노드에 데이터가 효과적으로 전달될 수 있는 방안을 제시한다.

  • 급양근무는 전투력 발휘, 사기 ,복지측면에서 중요한 요소이며, 전술적 상황하에서 정상적 취사는 작전환경 및 작전형태에 따라 제한사항이 많다. 그러므로 개인 휴대와 즉각 급식후 처리가 간편하고 견고한 포장 및 방수로 재보급, 경량화로 장기저장, 냉장 냉동이 불필요하고 화생방전하에서도 급식 가능한 고열량 식량을 농축, 식품화하여 개인급식 및 단체급식이 가능토록 개발하여 장병들에게 전투의 주도권과 기민성을 제공하고 전투지속능력과 생존성을 보장해야 한다. 이 글에서는 야전급양 근무지원 효율성 제고를 위한 급양근무지원 분야의 발전추세를 소개하였다.

Preliminary Study of Cosmic-ray Shielding Material Design Using Monte-Carlo Radiation Transport Code (몬테카를로 방사선 수송 모델을 활용한 우주방사선 차폐체 설계 관련 선행연구)

  • The radiation shielding characteristic of neutron shielding material has been studied as the preliminary study in order to design cosmic-ray shielding material. Specially, Soft Magnetic Material, known to be effective in EMP and radiation shielding, has been investigated to check if the material would be applicable to cosmic-ray shielding. In this work, thermal neutron shielding experiment was conducted and the Monte Carlo N-Particle(MCNP) was applied to employ skymap.dat, which is cosmic-ray data embedded in MCNP. As a result, polyethylene, borated polyethylene, and carbon nano tube, containing carbon or hydrogen, have been found to be effective in reduction of neutron flux below 20 MeV (including thermal, epithermal, evaporation). In contrast, the materials composed of iron such as SS316 and Soft Magnetic Material show a good shielding performance in the cascade energy range (above 20 MeV). Since Soft Magnetic Material is consisting of 13% of boron, it can also decrease thermal neutron flux, so it is expected that it would show a significant reduction on the entire range of neutron energy if the Soft Magnetic Material is used with hydrogen and carbon, so called low Z material.

Effect of Ventilation on Heat Stress in the System of Short-Sleeve T-Shirt-Combat Uniform-Chemical, Biological, and Radioactive Protective Clothing (반팔 내의-전투복-화생방보호의 시스템에서 환기가 열적 스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • This study establishes basic data for the development of a new Chemical, Biological, and Radioactive (CBR) protective clothing by selecting the ventilation position to optimize thermal comfort on the basis of the opening and closing of each part. Participants were eight men in their 20s who had previously worn CBR protective clothing. After vigorous exercise and perspiration, the microclimate of the clothing and skin temperature was measured. Results revealed that when the ventilation zipper was opened after exercising, the skin and clothing microclimate temperatures, which had increased during the exercise, decreased in the chest and shoulder blade regions. The clothing microclimate humidity decreased in the chest area. The change was greatest in the chest region; the skin temperature decreased by 0.2℃, the clothing microclimate temperature by 2.7℃, and the clothing microclimate humidity by 3.2%RH through ventilation. Thus, the opening that allows the exchange of accumulated heat and moisture while wearing the CBR protective clothing is efficient.

Optical system design of a mobile LIDAR for air polution research (대기오염 연구용 이동형 LIDAR 광학계 설계)

  • A optical system of a movile LIDAR is designed for air pollution research. After the inverse Cassegrain type collimator, the laser beam falls on the mirror which serve for coinciding optical axis of laser beam and the receiving telescope. Then, it is directed into the atmosphere and back scattered radiation back to the receiving telescope by the scanning mirror. The unit of scanning mirror allows to rotate the mirror along the altitude 0$^{\circ}$~60$^{\circ}$, and the azimuth 0$^{\circ}$~360$^{\circ}$. The scanning mirror is not connected with the receiving telescope but placed on the roof of the mobile. The received beam is spatial filtered by a spatial filter and collimated by a fabric lens. Thereafter, the beam is devided into 2 channel for registration by a beam splitter. Each laser beam is transformed into an electrical signal by means of the photomultifier and then processed to be analyzed.

A Study on Development of Civil Defense CBR Virtual Training Simulation Scenario (민방위 화생방 가상훈련 시뮬레이션 시나리오 개발 연구)

  • In spite of international efforts to control nuclear weapons and chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) weapons, North Korea obtains and sells CBR weapons illegally. As a result, the worldwide threat of CBR weapons is increasing. Unfortunately, civil defense education and training for CBR weapons have not been adopted for real situations because of the long period of absence of an actual combat. In this study, virtual training scenarios that are applied to the simulation were made in 5 steps to cope with CBR situations. These scenarios are expected to have three effects. First, trainings can be improved with experience and education. Second, the problems and health hazards of CBR weapons and supplies can be solved with CBR virtual training simulation experience. Finally, corresponding effects can be recognized and predicted in real situations through roles and mission procedures of simulation scenario.

  • The object of this research is to perform the basic research for the development of selectively permeable membrane fabrics which is suitable for korean military in sense of embattlement. As a key factor of selectively permeable membrane fabrics which is suitable for korean military, this study selected the best PVA thickness and membrane selection for DMMP protection, pre-treatment method for conformational stability of face fabric and water/oil repellent process condition. Especially as the PVA coating thickness of the fabrics increase, peneration of DMMP decrease including water vapor permeation is lower. This study shows how physical features and permeability of chemical agents can be influenced by pre-treatment methods, the selection of selectively permeable membrane, the thickness of PVA etc. Results showed that outer shell / PVA / e-PTFE materials possessed performance with superior water vapor permeation (Over $3,000g/m^2/day$) and protective capability against DMMP vapor ($0.6{\mu}g/cm^2{\cdot}16hr$).

최루제(CS gas)에 의한 흰쥐 기관 점막의 병리조직학적 변화에 대한 연구

  • CS gas(0-chlorobenzylidene malononitrite)가 우리나라 및 구미 각국에 시위진압과 군 화생방 교육에 널리 사용되고 있다. 이 CS gas는 인체에 자극적인 독성물질로 작용할 수 있다고 알려져 있으나 이비인후과 영역에 미치는 영향에 대하여는 보고가 드물어 CS gas 폭로에 의해 먼저 장애를 입을 것으로 생각되는 기관점막의 구성세포들의 변화를 관찰하기 위하여 실험동물을 사용하여 실험에 임하였다. 실험에 사용되는 실험동물은 150gm 내외의 Sprague-Dawley계 흰쥐로 대조군 5마리, 실험군 24마리를 사용하였으며 실험에 사용한 CS gas는 한영화학 CO.에서 제조한 분말형 CS gas를 사용하였다. 실험방법은 1㎥ 용적의 플라스틱 chamber에 CS분말을 투입한 후 실험동물을 넣어 CS gas를 흡입시킨 후 12시간, 1일, 3일, 5일이 경과한 후 희생시켜 기관점막의 변화를 관찰한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. CS gas 흡입후 12시간이 경과한 흰쥐의 기관은 상피층이 증가되었고 위중층상피가 중층편평상피로 변화되었다. 2. CS gas 흡입후 1일 경과후는 기관상피층이 현저하게 감소되었다. 3. CS gas 흡입후 3일 및 5일 경과후 기관점막은 대조군의 것과 같이 거의 정상화되었다.

  • Social infrastructures have been built when the growth of economy in Korea significantly increases in 1960s. Nowadays, these infrastructures have been aged with an inappropriate maintenance and management and the citizens have rare recognition for human disasters. In addition, the government has law or regulations responding to human disasters but these are not complementary. Since these human disasters have been issued as social problems and have induced social and economic loss, the improvement schemes for human disasters are currently being demanded. In this study, the case histories of damages and improvement schemes with respect to the types of damages for human disasters are comprehensively investigated.
