The Late 18C Hwanghae-Gamsa's Utilization of Governing and Ritual Institutions in Haeju-Mok -Focused on "Haeyeong Ilgi"(Mae-Su Seo)- (18C말(末) 황해감사 서매수(徐邁修)의 집무와 해주목 관영시설의 이용 -"해영일기(海營日記)"서매수(徐邁修)를 중심으로-)

  • This study aims to analyze the late 18th century Hanghae-Gamsa's(黃海監司; the provincial governor of Hanghae-Do) utilization of governing institutions in Haeju-Mok(海州牧) focused on his duties and ritual ceremonies. Haeyeong-Ilgi("海營日記") which is Hangha-Gamsa's official diary written by Mae-Su Seo(1731-1818) is closely investigated for that purpose. The arrival ceremonies were held at Geumcheon and the Gyogwui(交龜; the change-over ritual ceremonies) were held at Geumcheon and Baecheon. Especially the arrival ceremony held at Haeju-Mok is very spectacular compared with other cities. Through this study it was able to confirm the place of regular and irregular ritual ceremonies held and the aspects of governing institutions' utilization in Haeju-Mok.

  • Along with the development of technology, a variety of multimedia programs are presented in the exhibition. Mixed reality-based technology, such as augmented reality, is also being effectively introduced in the form of an interactive exhibition. In this process, the novelty and the splendor of technology and environment, in the display, can be turned into complex forms, which value is often unappreciated by attenders. The current study realizes the target of display-oriented exhibition environments for augmented reality, and explores the structure of display format, which can minimize the intervention of equipment. The study aims to discuss the structures of multimedia exhibition based on augmented reality and its characteristics.

A Study on Image perception According to Accessories - Materials and Forms of Earring - (액세서리에 따른 이미지 지각의 차이 - 귀걸이의 재료와 형태를 중심으로 -)

  • The objectives of this research were to find out factor of image perception about women's accessories, to test differences in image evaluation according to materials and forms, and to investigate differences in image evaluation according to total stimuli. The results of this study were as follows. First, the accessory image factor derived four categories: attractiveness, prettiness, gorgeousness, and soft. Second, in two dependent variables, material and form had no significant interaction effects on attractiveness, prettiness, gorgeousness, and soft. In main effect, there was a significant difference of attractiveness, prettiness, and gorgeousness according to form. That is, the lined types had better prettiness and gorgeousness than the attachable ones. There was a significant difference of attractiveness, prettiness, gorgeousness, and soft according to materials. That is, pearl was considered to be the most attractive and soft. Plastic was evaluated image of least fashionable and soft, gold did image of the least gorgeous. Third, the attractiveness of attachable diamond earring was evaluated the highest, and the lined plastic ones did the lowest. It was evaluated and concluded that the lined plastic ones is considered the prettiness and most gorgeous where as any earring with attachable gold earring were considered the least prettiness and gorgeous. The attachable silver or pearl earrings were considered to be projecting the softest image whereas the lined gold and attachable plastic ones the opposite.

  • 21세기의 초고속 인터넷망의 발달로 인하여 초기 용량이 적은 텍스트기반의 넷아트에서 이제는 움직이고 반응하는 상호작용이 있는 작품들이 많이 선보이게 되었다. 비주얼적인 면에서도 많은 발전을 이루었으며, 화려해진 작품들은 넷아트의 가능성을 높이고 있다. 하지만, 이러한 작품들은 작가가 프로그램(ex: flash, photoshop, illustrator)이라는 도구를 이용, 마우스로 하나하나 그려 모니터에 출력되기까지 많은 시간을 필요로 하며 단순한 작업의 연속으로 이루어진 결과물 이었다. 같은 작업의 반복으로 인해 작품을 만드는 데는 많은 시간을 필요로 하게 되었으며 효율성과 가능성을 높이지는 못하였다. 본 논문에서는 이런 반복적인 넷아트 작품의 성질과 특징을 같은 작업을 빠른속도로 연산 할 수 있는 프로그래밍이라는 공학적 측면을 이용해 살펴보고, 그것을 시각화, 알고리즘화 해 봄으로써 아날로그적인 감성의 넷아트 작품을 제작하는데 효율적이고, 효과적인 방법으로 구현 할 수 있도록 제안해 보도로 하겠다. 우리가 지금 일상에서 사용하고 있는 도구, 그리고 살아가고 있는 환경도 알고 보면 일정한 규칙으로 만들어졌으며 성장하고 있다. 꽃이 피는 것에도 일정규칙이 있으며 나무가 자라는 것도 법칙 있다. 이것은 자연도 알고리즘화 시킬 수 있는 것이며 프로그래밍화(ex flash, processing, lingo) 시킬 수 있다는 것이다. 지금 프로그래밍을 다루는데 익숙한 미디어 작가는 많지 않으며, 모든 작품을 알고리즘화 시킨다는 것은 어려운 일이겠지만 미디어작가들 사이에서도 공학적 접근을 통해 한계를 극복하고자 하는 시도가 있으며 지속적인 접근은 앞으로도 부족한 이 분야에 많은 발전가능성을 보여줄 것이며 개선의 여지를 남겨두고 있다.

Sensibility Factors of Colored Light (색광에 대한 감성 요인들)

  • Previous studies on color sensibility employed mostly general emotional and/or sensational words, and could not have a focus on the matter of 'color'. This study tried to collect sensibility words of color widely, and select representative words in a systematic way, with a result of 90 sensibility word list. 25 participants were asked to indicate how they feel on each item of the list when each of 22 colored light was projected on the screen. Factor analysis of data extracted 5 sensibility factors, such as mildness, neatness, splendour, dynamic, and weightiness. They were thought to represent color sensibilities more specifically, while having some similarities to, than those factors proposed previously. Issues on interpretation of factors and application of this result were discussed.

  • In this paper, we present a case of making LOGO animation using particles with MAYA, a 3D computer graphics packages of Autodesk Inc. We composite a visual which shows a similar effects with a information movie of Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games. By analysing the movie, we model a human body part as a set of cubes and animated the cubes to have dynamic visuals which shows similar visuals with the movie. All the system is implemented with MAYA MEL scripts. The system shows various visual effects by controlling options available in the designed UI.

  • Based on the natural colors and techniques of Korean traditional Dancheong, the image from splendor and magnificence is used as a jewel in making ornaments by subjective interpretation of the researcher. The purpose of this paper is to propose the possibility of using as a jewelry design by combining the possibilities of various color expressions, the combination of solidity and luster synthetic resin by utilizing natural pigments and mono images used in Korean traditional monophonic. In this study, this study presented the possibility of accessing in the life of a modern person pursuing a lifestyle by introducing a mono image into jewelry design, and at the same time, approaching ornaments by using traditional materials of the past, modern materials, and digital production methods. We are looking for a wide variety of jewelry designs to be utilized.

  • Nowadays many videos are created with motiongraphics which has new visual effects and technology. The technique try to find out the image models which maximally stimulate the memories to transfer new visual information. The image will be expressed various ways with combining graphics and real scene with the help of computer. With the advances of VFX, the real and graphic scenes are more naturally combined to make believe its real scene. In this paper the novel motiongraphic technique, which uses tracking data from camera, is proposed.

  • This study confirmed how emotional responses toward virtual influencers affect advertising effectiveness. While prior studies have focused on the attributes of influencers, we examined how consumers' psychological reactions while experiencing virtual influencers affect decision-making. As a result of the study, consumers showed specific emotional responses while experiencing virtual influencers, and confident, neat, subtle, trendy, glamorous, simple, and down-to-earth were extracted as representative emotions. Additionally, it was confirmed that these emotional responses influenced brand attitude, purchase intention, and recommend intention. These research results provide practical implications for marketing communications using virtual influencers.

  • Paderborn's companies, Wameling and Cassau, produce the liturgical vestments, which have much traditional artistic merit. And Kevelaerer Fahnen + Paramenten GmbH, located in Kevelater which is a place of pilgrimage of the Virgin Mary, was known to Europe, Africa, America and the Scandinavia Peninsula as the "Hidden Company" of liturgical vesments maker up to now. Paderborn and Kevelaer were the place of the center of the religious world and the Catholic ceremony during a good few centries. The Catholic liturgical vestiments of these 3 companies use versatile design, color, shape and techniques. These have not only the symbolism of religion, but also can meet our's expectations of utilization of modern textile art, art clothing and wide-all division of design. These give the understanding of symbolic meanings and harmony according to liturgical vestments to the believers. And these have an influence on mental thinking and induction of religious belief to the non-believers as the recognition and concerns about the religious art. The liturgical vestments are clothes which churchmen put on at the all ceremonial function of a mass, a sacrament, performance and a parade according to rules of church. These show the represen-tation of "Holy God" in silence and distinguish between common people and churchmen. And these represent a status and dignity of churchmen and induce majesty and respect to churchmen. Common clothes of the beginning of the Greece and Rome was developed to Christian clothes with the tendency of religion. There were no special uniforms distinguished from commen people until the Christianity was recognized officially by the Roman Emperor Constantinus at A.D.313. The color of liturgical vestments was originally white and changed to special colors according to liturgical day and each time by the Pope Innocentius at 12th century. The color and symbolic meaning of the liturgical vestments of present day was originated by the Pope St. Pius(1566-1572). Wool and Linen was used as decorations and materials in the beginnings and the special materials like silk was used after 4th century and beautiful materials made of gold thread was used at 12th century. It is expected that there is no critical changes to the liturgical vestments of future. But the development of liturgical vestments will continues slowly by the command of conservative church and will change to simple and convenient formes according to the culture, the trend of the times and the fashion of clothes. The companies of liturgical vestments develop versatile design, embroidery technique and realization of creative design for distinction of the liturgical vestments of each company and artistic progress. The cooperation of companies, artists and church will make the bright future of these 3 companies. We expect that our country will be a famous producing center of the liturgical vestments through the research and development of companies, participation of artists in religeous arts and concerts of church.
