  • This paper presents the analysis of the rotor of a synchronous reluctance motor(RSM) using the magnetic circuit that is attained from the flux path. In order to design the rotor of RSM, the magnetic circuit method can determine results of motor characteristics more quickly than when using to the finite element method. Here, the proposed magnetic circuit method for designing the rotor is verified by comparing results when using finite element method.

  • This study presents a solution to control a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor without sensors. The control method is the presented superposition principle. This method of sensorless theory is very simple to compute estimated angle. Therefore computing time to estimate angle is shorter than other sensorless method. The use of this system yields enhanced operations, fewer system components, lower system cost, energy efficient control system design and increased efficiency. A practical solution is described and results are given in this Study. The performance of a Sensorless architecture allows an intelligent approach to reduce the complete system costs of digital motion control applications using cheaper electrical motors without sensors. This paper deals with an overview of sensorless solutions in PMSM control applications whereby the focus will be the new Controller without sensors and its applications.

  • This paper presents the characteristic analysis by changing the shape and position of auxiliary pole core for Automotive stater motor. The brush contact resistance and mechanical loss calculated from the experimental data are used in characteristic analysis. The Finite Element Analysis Method(FEM) and 3D Equivalent Magnet Circuit Network(EMCN) are used for analysis. The validity of the proposed methods are verified by comparison of analysis results and experimental ones.

  • An HTS power cable has multi-layer conductor structure to increase the current capacity. However, usually the current is not evenly distributed among the layers. This paper describes a method to make the current distribution more uniform and hence reduce the AC loss. Also. this paper shows recommendation for future cable conductor prototypes.

  • This paper describes the design optimization of a 8:6 Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) with the rotor pole inserted barrier. The design is focussed on the minimization of the static torque ripple as maintaining the average torque and the efficiency of the demanded value. The finite element analysis method (FEM) and the optimization algorithm are used to optimize the shape of the rotor pole. By comparing the FEM results of barrier type SRM with these of prototype, it is verified that the barrier type SRM improves the static torque characteristics.

  • 고압전동기나 발전기의 사용수명은 절연시스템의 열화에 의해 좌우된다. 일반적으로 기기의 내구성을 확인하기 위해 국제규격이나 국내규격에서 적용하고 있는 방법으로는 온도에 의한 열화시험을 실시하여 절연계급에 대한 내구성을 평가한다. 본 논문에서는 현재 국내에서 제정된 신뢰성평가기준에 따른 국내 2개 회사의 일반유도전동기에 대해 실시한 온도 가속수명시험을 통해서 얻어진 자료를 이용한 시험방법의 개선 및 고장분석 등 신뢰성분석에 대해서 서술한다.

  • The value of I$_{c}$(critical current) in HTS (High Temperature Superconducting) tape has a great influence on B(equation omitted) (magnetic field amplitude applied perpendicular to the tape surface). Therefore, I$_{c}$ of HTS magnet is determined by not only operating temperature but also the B(equation omitted). In shape design of field coil for the HTS motor, a method to reduce the B(equation omitted) and to determine operating current should be considered in order to optimal design. On the basis of the magnetic field analysis, this paper deals with various field coil shape to obtain operating current of HTS motor by using analytical method. And also this paper discusses the operating current of 100hp class HTS motor by using I$_{c}$-B(equation omitted) curve.curve.

  • Magnetic circuit design of HTS (High Temperature Superconducting) motor is important to achieve the power at a given load condition, and it is essential to the thermal design for HTS motor rotors. To determine the result of thermal design, the magnetic field distribution has to be known exactly. On the basis of the 2 dimensional magnetic field analysis, the magnetic field distributions due to several cases are calculated by using Biot-Savart equation and magnetic image method. And the I$_{c}$ of HTS field coil was calculated by using I$_{c}$-B(equation omitted) curve and 3D FEA(Finite Element Analysis).is).

  • An LQ controller design method is proposed for effective anti-sway control of boom type crane in this paper. It is important for high productivity that the sway of a load is controlled as fast as possible when the trolley arrives to the destination with maximum velocity. To prove the effectiveness of the proposed LQ controller. simulations and experiments using the boom type crane as experimental device is carried out. Tracking performance for a step type reference and robustness for the change of working environment such as the change of load weight and parameters produced by a wire rope and disturbance by the wind arc proved by the experiment. It will be examined that boom type crane can be applied to industrial fields through experiment in this paper.

  • This paper deals with the mechanical stress analysis due to electromagnetic forces and the optimal design of the link considering the stress. The link in Interior Permanent Magnet Brushless Motor(IPM) have influence on both mechanical and magnetic performance. The decrease of the link thickness serves to improve the torque, whereas this decreases the strength of link. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the appropriate link thickness considering electromagnetic forces and thermal expansion. The effects of the variation of link thickness on the mechanical stress and the electromagnetic performance are analyzed by the structural and electromagnetic Finite Element Method. In addition, the mechanical structure design of the link is performed to reinforce the mechanical strength against magnetic forces while preserving a food magnetic torque.
