A Study on Gas Mixing in a Circulating Fluidized Bed (순환유동층에서 기체의 혼합특성에 관한 연구)

  • 내경 0.1 m, 높이 5.3 m 의 순환유동층 반응기를 사용하여 기체의 역혼합특성을 조사하였다. 기체의 역혼합은 동일한 기상유속일때 고체순환속도가 증가할수록 증가하였다. 희박상영역에서 일정한 고체체류량에서는 기상유속이 증가할수록 벽면에서의 하강흐름도 증가되어 기체의 역혼합은 증가되었다. Tracer 주입위치가 반응기 벽면에서 중심으로 이동할수록 빠른 기체와 고체의 흐름으로 인하여 기체의 역혼합은 상당히 감소하였다. 그리고, 희박상영역에서 core-annulus 구조를 기초로 하여 기체역혼합과 core 와 annulus 간의 물질전달계수를 예측할 수 있는 모델식을 제안하였다.

Development of Volume Modified Sorption Model and Prediction for Volumetric Strain of Coal Matrix (흡착에 의한 석탄암체의 부피변화가 고려된 흡착모델 개선 및 부피변형률 예측)

  • We proposed the improved Langmuir adsorption relations considering volume change effect of coal matrix during primary production of CBM and Enhanced-CBM with injection of carbon dioxide or CCS in coalseam but also volumetric strain. To verify this model, experimental data of pure gas adsorption such as $CO_2$, $CH_4$, and $N_2$ on coals were used to compare conventional Langmuir model with this model. From the results, we obtained that the larger adsorption capacity of coal and the higher adsorption affinity of gas, the larger error occur with Langmuir model. Using this model, however, we found not only substantially better fit in all condition but also reasonable volumetric strain of the coal matrix. We also applied this volume modified pure gas adsorption model to the IAS model to describe gas adsorption and volumetric strain for mixed gas. This modified-IAS model fitting experimental data by Hall et al(1994) improved accuracy of mixed gas adsorption calculation compared with conventional model.

  • The detonation wave characteristics of JP-7 and oxygen mixture is investigated by one-step induction parameter model (IPM) obtained from a detailed chemistry mechanism. A general procedure of obtaining reliable one-step kinetics IPM for hydrocarbon mixture from the fully detailed chemistry is described in this study. The IPM is obtained by the reconstruction of the induction time database obtained from a detailed kinetics library. The IPM was confirmed by the comparison of the induction time calculations with that from detailed kinetics. The IPM is later implemented to a fluid dynamics code and applied for the numerical simulation of detonation wave propagation. The numerical results show the detailed characteristics of the detonation wave propagation in JP-7 and oxygen mixture at affordable computing time, which is not be possible by the direct application of the detailed chemical kinetics mechanism of hydrocarbon fuel combustion.

Numerical Investigation of Mixing Characteristics in a Cavity Flow by Using Hybrid Lattice Boltzmann Method (혼성 격자볼츠만 방법을 이용한 공동 형상 내부에서의 혼합 특성에 관한 수치적 연구)

  • In this study, the mixing characteristics in lid-driven cavity flows were studied numerically by using a hybrid lattice Boltzmann method (HLBM). First, we compared the numerical results from single-relaxation-time (LB-SRT) and multi-relaxation-time (LB-MRT) models to examine their reliability. In most of the cavity flow, the results from both the LB-SRT and the LB-MRT models were in good agreement with those using a Navier-Stokes solver for Re=100-5000. However, the LB-MRT model was superior to the LB-SRT model for the simulation of higher Reynolds number flows having a geometrical singularity with much lesser spatial oscillations. For this reason, the LB-MRT model was selected to study the mass transport in lid-driven cavity flows, and it was demonstrated that mass transport in the fluid was activated by a recirculation zone in the cavity, which is connected from the top to the bottom surfaces through two boundary layers. Various mixing characteristics such as the concentration profiles, mean Sherwood (Sh) numbers, and velocity were computed. Finally, the detailed transport mechanism and solutions for the concentration profile in the cavity were presented.

  • This paper studies a nonpremixed turbulent flame in a model scramjet combustor using zonal hybrid RANS/LES method. The numerical domain is divided into two region, RANS and LES region. The interface between the two regions is treated with synthetic eddy method. A model scramjet combustor experimented at German aerospace center is selected for the comparative study. The fuel injection of cracked kerosene surrogate which is composed of ethylene and methane is considered. Turbulent combustion of cracked kerosene surrogate is achieved using flamelet approach.

  • 특정한 기능을 하는 DNA 조각은 특정한 염기 서열들을 가진다. 이를 이용하여 특정 조각의 DNA 서열을 위치 점수 행렬을 이용하여 표현할 수 있다. 하지만 찾고자 하는 DNA 부분들이 완전히 밝혀진 것이 아닐 수 있다. 따라서 현재 밝혀진 정보만을 이용하여 위치 점수 행렬을 만들 경우, 실제 서얼 패턴이 아닌 편중된 정보가 얻어질 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 위치 점수 행렬의 혼합 모델을 이용하여, 각각의 특정 군집들을 대표할 수 있는 행렬들을 구분하여 구성하였다. 본 논문에서는 약 22개의 염기로 구성된 microRNA 서열 중, 초반부의 8개의 염기 서열정보를 이용하여, 이들 위치의 서열상의 특성을 확인해 보고자 하였다. miRNA 서열을 대표하기 위한 위치 점수 행렬들은 구분하여 만들고, EM 알고리즘을 이용하여 학습한다. 학습 결과 얻어진 혼합 모델과 은닉 변수를 통해 microRNA들을 군집화하고, 각각의 군집에 속한 microRNA 서열의 특성을 확인한다.

Classification of Underwater Transient Signals Using Gaussian Mixture Model (정규혼합모델을 이용한 수중 천이신호 식별)

  • Transient signals generally have short duration and variable length with time-varying and non-stationary characteristics. Thus frame-based pattern matching method is useful for classification of transient signals. In this paper, we propose a new method for classification of underwater transient signals using a Gaussian mixture model(GMM). We carried out classification experiments for various underwater transient signals depending upon the types of noise, signal-to-noise ratio, and number of mixtures in the GMM. Experimental results have verified that the proposed method works quite well for classification of underwater transient signals.

  • 혼합공정은 화학공학, 식품공학, 건축공학등 여러 가지 산업분야에 걸쳐 이용되는데 최근 고분자 분야에서도 신소재 개발 또는 제품의 물성을 향상시키기 위하여 이에대한 연구 가 활발해지고 있다. 고분자 가공에서 혼합에 이용되는 대표적인 기계로는 twin screw extruder, internal mixer, two roll mill 등이 있는데 본 연구에서는 internal mixer에서의 고 분자 유동 및 혼합거동을 파악하고자 하였다. 실험적으로는 flow visualization 방법을 써서 순환시간을 측정하였고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 이론적으로 이를 검토하였다. 고분자 거동은 비뉴우톤을 유체로서 설명되기 때문에 본 연구에서는 혼합기의 구조적 특성을 고려한 모델 로서 $\eta$ = $\frac{\eta_o}{1+A[2trd^2]^\frac{1-n}{2}}$
