The technology of Software Defined Radio (SDR) is a possible solution to interwork flexibly between various wireless transport protocols. Ubiquitous network, like u-health service network, includes sensor devices or nodes which do not facilitate all the same transport protocols to access network. As such this may be in such unreachable situations as poverty of all required AP (Access Point)’s, faults or contention in a path of particular protocol communication, etc. This paper presents research results of modeling and simulation to analyze transport performance of multi-protocol ubiquitous network which includes SDR-based interwork nodes and congestion-controlled AP’s. Focusing mainly on dynamics of overall transport performance rather than protocol execution procedures, this paper employs the Zeigler’s DEVS (Discrete Event Systems Specification) methodology and DEVSim++simulation environment to experiment.

It is very difficult to construct and manager public transit, like subway, in small city. In this paper, we suggest full electric vehicle sharing service framework as a public transit system in small city. The suggested system will reduce environment pollution and increase resource usage efficiency. The simulation result shows that the suggested electric vehicle sharing system can reduce traffic congestion and lower city road stress.

In this Paper, we discuss an active TCP link of unsynchronized transmission mode network in two-way traffic and the Improvement of its traffic patron thorough the network pathway of protocol is shown. This is because the traffic pattern is performed on the basis of existing windows which are distributing information in several periods of time in the way of interfacing LTS control module, which is controlling by an information of exceeding the time limit of feedback loop determined by RTP, with TCP. The simulation to utilize this efficiently is performed with the circumstance of bench mark based on physical modeling of the self-similarity traffic in the performance of TCP. In this paper, we use a methodology to understand and evaluate the effect of change of transmitting protocol in sticks under the condition of the self-similar traffic in two-way network and it is shown that an improvement of congestion control by self-similarity under a heavy condition.

In this paper, we have analyzed the TCP throughput of Portable Internet system in 2.3GHz wireless environment with considering user's mobility speed. As the Portable Internet uses large cells compared to wireless LAM and supports user's nobility, we have adapted different wireless channel model to derive the TCP throughput of the system. We have assumed wireless channel is Rayleigh fading channel and the channel is modeled as two-state Markov model with which user's nobility speed can be considered by varying transition matrix of the model. from the simulation results, we have known that higher TCP throughput under the slow fading than under the fast fading. Because the TCP throughput is closely related to the sender's congestion control, the more congestion control is done by the sender, the lower TCP throughput we have. The more congestion control is caused in the sender under the fast fading than the slow fading so the lower TCP throughput is resulted in the fast fading environment.

Recently announced TCP Vegas predicts the degree of congestion in the network and then control the congestion window size. Thus it shows better performance than TCP Reno. however, TCP vegas does not assume any network model, its congestion window control is very limited. Because or this limitation, TCP vegas still can not adapt to fast changing available bandwidth. In this paper, we introduce a new TCP algorithm which adapts to fast changing available bandwidth well. To devise such a TCP, we model the end to end network of TCP connection as a queueing system and finds congestion window size which can utilize the available bandwidth sufficiently but not make the network congested. The simulation results show that our algorithm adapts to the avaliable bandwidth faster than TCP vegas and as a results, when the available bandwidth is changing rapidly, our algorithm not only operates more stably than TCP Vegas, but also it shows higher thruput than TCP Vegas.

In this paper, we extend the multiple time scale control framework to the window-based congestion control, in particular, such as the TCP. This is performed by interfacing the TCP with a large time scale control module which adjusts the aggressiveness of the bandwidth consumption behavior exhibited by the TCP as a function of large time scale Self-Similar network state. i.e., conformation that exceeds the horizon of the feedback loop as determined by the RTT. How to effectively utilize such an information-due to its probabilistic nature, dispersion over the multiple time scales, and affection on the top of the existing window-based congestion controls-is a non-trivial problem. The evaluation performance of the multiple time scale TCP is facilitated by a simulation of the bench-mark environment which is based on the physical modeling of a self-similar traffic. We explicate our methodology for discerning and evaluating the impact of changes in transport protocols in the protocol stack under the self-similar traffic conditions. We discuss issues arising in the comparative performance evaluation under heavy-tailed workloads.
Incident duration prediction is one of the most important steps of the overall incident management process. An accurate and reliable estimate of the incident duration can be the main difference between an effective incident management operation and an unacceptable one since, without the knowledge of such time durations, traffic impact can not be estimated or calculated. This research presents several multiple linear regression models for incident duration prediction using data consisting of 384 incident cases. The main source of various incident cases was the Traffic Incident Reports filled out by the Motorist Assistant Units of the Korea Highway Corporation. The models were proposed separately according to the time of day(daytime vs. nighttime) and the fatality/injury incurred (fatality/injury vs. property damage only). Two models using an integrated dataset, one with an intercept and the other without it, were also calibrated and proposed for the generality of model application. Some findings are as follows ; ?Variables such as vehicle turnover, load spills, the number of heavy vehicles involved and the number of blocked lanes were found to significantly affect incident duration times. ?Models, however, tend to overestimate the duration times when a dummy variable, load spill, is used. It was simply because several of load spill incidents had excessively long clearance times. The precision was improved when load spills were further categorized into "small spills" and "large spills" based on the size of vehicles involved. ?Variables such as the number of vehicles involved and the number of blocked lanes found not significant when a regression model was calibrated with an intercept. whereas excluding the intercept from the model structure signifies those variables in a statistical sense.

In this paper we consider the performance of TCP video traffic over ABR with Long-Range Dependent VBR traffic. As compressed coded video traffics are increasing rapidly over Internet, lots of studies are being done for transmitting those traffics efficiently using limited network resources. We consider here the transmitting video service over ABR service in ATM networks, especially satellite networks. CBR or VBR services are suggested in transmitting the video traffic in ATM Forum TM 4.0. But ABR service connection, which is considered as appropriate service for data traffic, can be established with a small amount of bandwidth, MCR (Minimum cell rate). Furthermore ABR service can control the source's transmitting rate using feedback mechanism. Using this feature ABR service can be used in some applications which can control their quality of services corresponding to network loads. Compressed video sources with MPEG-2 are used for Long-Range Dependent VBR traffic here. We model the compressed video source to resemble the MPEG-2 transport streams. These compressed video traffic streams are consisted of three different frames, I-frame, P-frame, and B-frame. So when a network are overloaded, we can control the quality of service using this traffic features. TCP Traffics over ABR need large buffers in ATM switch to satisfy their QoS with background VBR traffics, which have high deviations in bandwidth. Furthermore satellite ATM networks with large feedback delay need large buffers corresponding RTT delay. The performance comparisons among EFCI and ER switch (ERICA+) switches in the network circumstances described above were shown in this paper. We also considered the case with ON-OFF VBR traffics.
