A Study on the Congestion Management by OPF in the Electricity Power Market with the Bidding Function (입찰함수에 의한 전력거래에서의 최적조류 계산에 의한 혼잡비용 처리연구)

  • The nodal marginal cost and the congestion charge are used as the econimic signals for the electricity price and new invetments in deregulated power systems. In this paper, the nodal marginal cost and the congestion charge are calculated by using the shadow prices resulted from the calculation of Optimal Power Flow(OPF). Linearization of inequality constraints and piecewise linear cost functions make an OPF problem LP-based forms. In order to use the shadow price, the Interior Point(IP) algorithm is applied as a solution technique to the formulation. This paper proposes an algorithm to determine efficients initial points which are guaranteed to be interior points.

  • As a competition is introduced in the electricity supply industry, a congestion problem arises in the transmission network. The congestion causes the transmission cost to increase. One way to decrease the congestion cost is to control the transmission flow through the installation of TCSC(Thyrister Controlled Series Capacitor). This paper deals with the optimal site of the TCSC for reducing the congestion cost using a shadow price which is one of the economic signals for the systems. Test results show that the site of the TCSC is optimal to minimize the congestion cost by the proposed algorithm.

  • Due to the rapid economic development, traffic congestion has become a dire concern in Beijing, China. Levying a congestion toll is seen as the most effective solution to the problem. Building a congestion pricing model is a crucial step in implementing a workable toll scheme. Unlike previous attempts, this study not only covers the theoretical discussion but also considers three practical issues: the speed-density relationship, the value of travel time savings, and the determination of optimal traffic volume. We estimate the speed-density relationship by regression models and the value of travel time saved through survey results. We further suggest a way through which the government could identify the optimal traffic flow by a series of trial-and-errors, without the knowledge of exact road demand structure. Finally, a practical tolling scheme is proposed for Beijing's second ring road along with some policy recommendations.

Congestion Control Method of Area of Interest in Distributed Virtual Environment (분산가상환경에서 참여자 관심영역의 혼잡도 조절기법)

  • Previous researches on scalability problem of distributed virtual environment (DVE) have been mainly focused on spatial partitioning of area of interest (AOI). Congestion phenomena by avatar groups in AOI have been neglected relatively However, AOI congestion is highly related to scalability of DVE because it exhausts system resources such as network bandwidth and rendering time, and could be a bar to perform collaboration among participants. In this paper, this will be defined as the problem that must be solved for the realization of the scalable DVE, and a model will be proposed to measure and control congestion situation in AOI. The purposes of the proposed model are to prevent high density of participants in AOI, and to protect stable collaboration in DVE. For evaluation of the performance it is compared with a previous method by defining the resource cost model which is dynamically activated to AOI congestion.

  • With an increasing number of cars in Korea, the government is constantly providing roads and their related facilities. However the fundamental problems of cities like the structure of cities and the environment of roads make the traffic congestion of downtowns. To solve this problem the construction of toll roads such as tunnels and bridges is increasing but use rates of drivers is low. With more tolls required, less persons will use the roads. Thus this study is to consider offering discounted charges when using the two or more toll roads together. This study analyzes the impact that discounted charges would bring to the demand. In the meantime we looks into what the proper range should be for the discount. The results of this study are expected to be used as basis for the introduction of a discount system in the future.

  • 비수도권과 수도권의 수급 불균형 해소를 위한 6개의 북상선로에 흐르는 융통조류량의 한계값이 경제성 평가의 한 기준이 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 수도권 융통전력 한계를 고려한 제약급전사례의 검토 결과를 이용하여 FACTS 투입에 따른 증대된 융통전력한계를 바탕으로 FACTS 투입에 따른 혼잡비용측면에서 운전이익을 평가하는 방법을 논한다. 즉, F-V 해석결과를 이용하여, 수도권 융통전력 한계값을 결정하고 좀 더 정확한 운전이익 계산하기 위하여 결정된 한계값을 P-POOL 프로그램을 이용하여 혼잡비용 경감 효과를 확인할 수 있는 모의 방법을 확립한다. 확립된 방안은 계획계통을 이용해 검증하고, 최종적으로 FACTS 투입량과 투입후보지에 대한 융통전력 한계 측면에서의 경제성 평가한다.

Incident Detection for Urban Arterial Road by Adopting Car Navigation Data (차량 궤적 데이터를 활용한 도심부 간선도로의 돌발상황 검지)

  • Traffic congestion cost is more likely to occur in the inner city than interregional road, and it accounts for about 63.39% of the whole. Therefore, it is important to mitigate traffic congestion of the inner city. Traffic congestion in the urban could be divided into Recurrent congestion and Non-recurrent congestion. Quick and accurate detection of Non-recurrent congestion is also important in order to relieve traffic congestion. The existing studies about incident detection have been variously conducted, however it was limited to Uninterrupted Traffic Flow Facilities such as freeway. Moreover study of incident detection on the interrupted Traffic Flow Facilities is still inadequate due to complex geometric structure such as traffic signals and intersections. Therefore, in this study, incident detection model was constructed using by Artificial Neural Network to aim at urban arterial road that is interrupted traffic flow facility. In the result of the reliability assessment, the detection rate were 46.15% and false alarm rate were 25.00%. These results have a meaning as a result of the initial study aimed at interrupted traffic flow. Furthermore, it demonstrates the possibility that Non-recurrent congestion can be detected by using car navigation data such as car navigator system device.

Parameter Estimation and Validation of a Multinomial Logit Model for the Prediction of Mode Shift as a Result of TDM Schemes in Seoul (교통수요관리정책의 효과분석을 위한 다항로짓모형의 적용 - 서울시 사례 -)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 '96년말 서울시에서 실시한 가구통행조사를 이용하여 서울시 수단선택모형을 구축하고 그 예측결과를 남산 혼잡통행료 전후저사자료와 비교하여 보다 구체적으로 그 정확성을 검증한 뒤 향후 서울시 교통수요관리 방안의 시행에 따른 수단선택변화 예측의 기본 모형으로 활용하는데 있다. 5가지의 대안모형의 분석결과 통행비용변수(승용차의 경유 주차요금포함)와 총통행시간변수(OVTT와 IVTT의 합), 승용차, 지하철, 택시상수로 구성된 모형이 최적모형으로 분석되었다. 이모형에 의한 시간가치는 9,395원, 승용차의 비용탄력성은-0.6767로서 기존 연구결과의 범위 내에 속한 것으로 나타났다. 최적모형을 이용하여 승용차통행비용이 증가한 경우를 모사분석결과 남산1,3호 터널 혼잡통행료 징수효과와 유사하게 승용차 분담율이 13% 가까이 감소한 것으로 나타나서 모형의 현실적합성도 비교적 높은 것으로 판명되었다. 향후 본 연구에서 선정된 최적수단선택모형을 통행배정모형과 결합하여 다양한 교통수요관리 방안에 따른 효과를 예측하는데 활용하면 서울과 같은 대도시의 단기적 교통관리의 수준을 한 단계 높이는데 기여할 것으로 판단된다.
