  • 본 연구는 하나의 장치 내에서 "싸이클론-관성충돌-여과포 집진"이라는 다단 제진 단계가 동시에 이루어져 입경 분포별로 순차적인 제진이 가능한 멀티 집진기의 처리가스 제어 효율을 극대화시킬 수 있는 기류 흐름을 얻기 위한 최적화 설계 조건을 검토하는 것이다. 우선 1단계 제진 과정인 원심력을 이용하여 조대입자의 유선 이탈을 촉진시킬 수 있는 사이클론 유동을 최적화시키기 위한 집진기 입구 형상 설계 검토를 위해 수치 해석적 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과, 멀티집진기 입구 형상을 일반적인 설계 방식인 접선 유입식으로만 설계한 것에 비해 선회류를 한번 더 가속화시킬 수 있는 가이드 베인을 추가로 설계한 경우 선회류의 pitch가 짧고 강하게 형성되어 사이클론부에서 조대입자의 유선 이탈을 촉진시키는데 매우 효과적인 것으로 예측되었다. 단, 사이클론부 하단 벤츄리 형상으로 인해 약 4~5 m/s의 강한 하향 흐름이 호퍼 하단까지 형성되고 있어 탈리 분진의 재비산 문제가 발생할 가능성이 크므로 벤츄리 형상 설치 유무에 대한 영향도 추가적으로 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on the Compositional Manners for Emphasizing the Dramatic Lines in Film (영화의 장면에 악센트를 부여하는 음악 기법 연구)

  • The marriage between music and film, both temporal art forms, demands that the inherent aspects of note in each medium are brought into correspondence within a dramatic context. In film-making, the most crucial and difficult problem a film composer faces is finding the music that seems absolutely right for the film and its characters, sequences and dramatic lines. When writing a film score, composers become musical dramatists; some have a special instinct that enables them to find the right kind of melodic line, orchestral texture, rhythmic device and musical style to bring out what they intuitively recognize as the essential aspect of the drama. In this study, several examples are cited - Alex North, Hugo Friedhofer, Bernard Herrmann and David Raksin - that underline this kinetic function of music in film. Effort is made to uncover as many possibilities as possible, so as to arrive at a better understanding of how the two media interrelate for the purpose of emphasizing the dramatic lines.

Development of Equipment and Process on Dry Ice Blasting (드라이아이스 펠렛 세정 장치 및 공정개발)

  • Pelletizer of dry ice snow produced by adiabatic expansion of liquid carbon dioxide and their blaster were designed and manufactured. The blaster had a high cleaning power against various contaminants on the surface such as stain, oily dirt, lacquer film and paints with low blasting pressure and low consumption of blasting air. The capacity of hopper for dry ice pellet supply was 12 kg and the mass rate of pellet blasting was controlled in 0 to 1.2 kg/min. The impact of the pellets was independent of standoff distance within a certain limiting distance, and dependent on the impact stress, angle and mass rate of dry ice pellet blasting. On the other hand the cleaning power was influenced by thermal properties and surface roughness of the substrates and decreased in the order of glass, copper, brass, steel and acryl. The power was also affected by hardness and adhesion of the contaminant on the substrate, and decreased in the order of grease, epoxy and paint. The noise was detected during blasting in the range of 85 to 100dBA.

  • Recently, the demand for rail freight has gradually decreased. In particular, the demand in Korea for open freight cars, which classification includes gondola cars, hopper cars and gravel cars has been significantly reduced. The role of gondola cars in the rail transportation market shrank to 14.5% in 2010 from 23.3% in 2001. The transportation demand of gondola cars in the long term is expected to be reduced further. Because some gondola cars have been converted to container cars and various containers are being developed to transport bulk cargo by container cars. However, gondola cars still play an important role in rail freight transport. Therefore, the management planning of gondola cars is needed in order to prepare for the long-term declining demand. In this study, we propose a future direction for the management planning of gondola cars through the effectiveness analysis of gondola cars operation.

A Study on Fatigue Life Prediction of Welded Joints Through Fatigue Test and Crack Propagation Analysis (피로실험 및 균열진전 해석을 통한 용접부의 피로수명 예측에 관한 연구)

  • T-joint and hopper knuckle joint models are typical welded joints in ship structure, which are very susceptible to fatigue damage under service condition. Fatigue test and fracture mechanical analysis were performed on these joints to find out characteristics of fatigue behavior. Unified S-N curve was developed from the test results of these two types of joint using hot spot stress concept, and also propagation life was also estimated using Paris' crack propagation law. Residual stress effect on propagation life was considered in calculating propagation life, as was done with thermo-elasto-plastic FE analysis and residual stress intensity factor calculation. Fatigue life of similar kinds of welded joint could be predicted with this unified S-N curve and fracture mechanical analysis technique.

  • KORAIL's logistics business coefficient is improved slightly from 197.4 in 2009 to 190.7 in 2010 but the cost is still high compared to the revenues. In order to derive activities for the efficient logistics and measure their effects quantitatively, the analysis of various indexes that can be extracted from the statistical data is very important. In this study, the various indexes are analyzed to evaluate the efficiency of freight cars based on railway logistics. It can be used to estimate the various activities for the efficient logistics associated with freight cars. We suggest the Indexes as the number of transport, cumulative transport distance and transport income to evaluate the efficiency of freight cars and they should be applied according to the characteristics of each index.

  • Under the government's principle of paying for emissions, the RFID-based pay-as-you-go system, which charges fees in proportion to emissions, was fully implemented in 2012. As of the end of 2018, the penetration rate is about 40% based on 149 local governments and multi-family apartments nationwide. The introduction of equipment showed a reduction effect of about 20-30%. Problems with existing equipment also began to appear. This study tried to improve by applying and integrating the existing technologies to solve the fundamental problems of these inlets. In other words, the plan is to improve the environment around the food waste meter by changing the design so that the hopper goes deep into the food waste bin inside the food waste meter so that the food waste becomes full and is designed smoothly when replacing the collection container.

  • As the body shape change which occurs after middle age is the main factor affecting the fit of ready-to-wear clothes, this study was designed to classify and analyze the torso shapes of middle-aged men. This study sorted 3D body scans of 200 men aged 40-64 from the 8th Size Korea (2021) database and extracted their 47 measurement values using the Grasshopper algorithm for automatic extraction landmarks and measurements, developed by the previous research (Ryu & Song, 2022). Eight principal components (torso length, shoulder size, overall body size, abdomen prominence, back protrusion, neck inclination, upper body slope, and hip prominence) were identified and four torso shapes were classified. Shape 1 (28.5%) exhibited the shortest torso length, the narrowest shoulders, and the most protruding back. Shape 2 (21.0%) exhibited the skinniest body and the largest backward inclination of the upper body. Hence, the back appeared to be protruding, and the abdomen looked prominent. Shape 3 (25.5%) had the largest overall body size. Thus, the abdomen looked the least protruding, and it exhibited the flattest back. Shape 4 (25.0%) had the longest torso, widest shoulders, straightest neck, and the least protruding hips. This study suggested these three discriminant functions to identify a new person's torso type.

  • Since the 1960s, the Korean Peninsula, which consists of 77.4 of the country's land and mountains, has seen a surge in demand for buildings due to population concentration due to urbanization and industrialization. Since then, the development of slopes has been inevitable due to the concentration and expansion of the city's population. When building a building on a slope, it is important to set the height of the surface. In this case, the means of regulating buildings in construction-related laws, such as the building closure ratio, floor area ratio, number of floors and total floor area of buildings, have an overall effect on buildings through the height of the surface. In the Korean Building Act, the setting of the height of the ground affects the calculation of the building height limit standard and the calculation of the underground floor, and it takes a long time to calculate. Therefore, the time required for attempts to change various design plans of buildings increases. The purpose of this study is to speed up the time required to calculate the weighted average of the surface when constructing buildings on slopes. In addition, the existing calculation process allows various design attempts compared to the same time given.

  • Body shape is the most influential factor in determining the quality of clothing fit. Women's body shape begins to change significantly in their mid-30s; therefore, this study aimed to classify and analyze the torso shapes of women aged 35-54 years. This study selected 200 3D body scans of women from the 8th Size Korea Survey database (2021). Using the Grasshopper algorithm developed in a previous study, 17 landmarks were automatically detected and 57 measurement values were generated. Using principal component analysis, 11 components (overall body size, upper body length, back protrusion, upper body slope, neck position, neck inclination, hip length, bust prominence, abdominal prominence, shoulder slope, and buttock prominence) were extracted. Three torso types were identified using K-means cluster analysis. The three body types were significantly different on nine component scores. Among the three torso types, Type 1 (37.5%) has the longest upper body and the flattest back and hips. Type 2 (31.0%) has the most curved back and forward upper body. Its abdomen is the flattest, and its shoulders are the most sloped. Type 3 (31.5%) has the shortest upper body, the most protruding hips, and the largest overall body size. This paper proposes two discriminant functions for identifying a new person's torso type.
