Comparative Studies on Credit Systems of Secondary Vocational Education in Australia and Finland (호주와 핀란드의 중등단계 직업교육 학점제 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the current state of credit system in secondary and vocational education in Australia and Finland. For this purpose, this study compares the secondary vocational education system in Australia and Finland and compares how the curriculum is organized, operated and evaluated at secondary level. Australia and Finland have different characteristics in secondary vocational education system, while Australia operates vocational education programs mainly in comprehensive high schools under a decentralized system, while Finland is a centralized system and is divided into general education institutions and separate vocational education institutions. However, in terms of the organization and operation of the curriculum, both countries are based on the credit system, adopting the unemployed school system, and guaranteeing the choice of students. The results of this study are meaningful in that the policy direction to introduce and operate the credit system at the high school level recently has made meaningful implications through the present situation of overseas countries.

  • 호스피스 프로그램의 활성화와 질적 향상을 도모하여 오늘날 우리 사회의 요청에 응하고자 한국 카톨릭 호스피스 협회가 마련한 제 3차 호스피스 견학을 9월17일-9월28일까지 호주로 다녀왔다. 견학 인원은 서울, 강릉, 부산 등지의 의사, 간호사, 교수 및 봉사자 등 16명이었고 이들의 적극적인 참여로 보람되고도 만족스러운 결과를 얻을 수가 있었다.

Late Neogene and Quaternary Vertical Motions in the Otway Coast, Southeast Australia (I): Development and Geochronology of Quaternary Marine Terraces (호주 남동부 Otway 해안의 후기 신제3기 및 제4기 융기 운동(I): 제4기 해안단구 발달 및 지층서)

  • This study investigates a neotectonic context of the past 5 Ma for the Otway Ranges along the southern Victoria coast, SE Australia by evaluating the distribution and development of marine terraces along the mountainous coastal area. Uplift rate derived from low terrace deposits using OSL dating method is determined to evaluate the extent to which mild intraplate tectonism has the capability to influence the geomorphic evolution of continental interiors. This study also investigates the stratigraphic relationship between Quaternary marine terraces and Pliocene strandlines, which suggests a change of tectonic activity in the Late Neogene. The intensified tectonic response is well addressed in terms of an increase of the Australian intraplate stress level due to the change of relative motion and increased forces in the boundary between the Australian and Pacific plate.

The Effects of Variables on gender equality consciousness by Middle School Students (중학생의 양성평등의식에 영향을 미치는 변인)

  • The purposes of this study were intended to examine by variables influencing gender equality consciousness in middle school students and provide basic materials useful for their education of gender equality consciousness by finding out variables influencing equality consciousness. The subjects were the 1,201 students who studied at middle schools in Jeonllabuk-do. Using structured questionnaire surveyed. Data were analyzed with Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Std, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, t-test, and Multiple Regression using SPSS/PC WIN 14.0 program. The major findings were as follows: 1. The mean value of gender equality consciousness in middle school students was 3.89 in the whole, 3.88 in home life, 3.92 in school life, 4.04 in the workplace, and 3.70 in social and cultural life, suggesting high value in all areas. While the workplace and the school life showed higher gender equality consciousness than the whole, the home life and social and cultural life showed lower consciousness. 2. The whole gender equality consciousness were influenced by sex, mother's gender equality consciousness, homeroom teacher's gender equality consciousness, an enough schooling, desirable school types, perception of abolition of family-head system, and social gender equality consciousness. And the Middle school students' whole gender equality consciousness were explained about 32% by these variables.
