3차원 강소성 유한요소법을 이용한 환상압연공정중 형상결함의 예측 (Prediction of Defect Formation in Ring Rolling by the Three-Dimensional Rigid-Plastic Finite Element Method)

  • In this paper, defect formation in ring rolling is revealed by computer simulation of ring rolling processes. The rigid-plastic finite element method is employed for this study. An analysis model having relatively fine mesh system near the roll gap is used for reducing the computational time and a scheme of minimizing the volume change is applied. The formation of the central cavity formation defect in ring rolling of a taper roller bearing outer race and the polygonal shape defect in ring rolling of a ball bearing outer race has been simulated. It has been seen that the results are qualitatively good with actual phenomena.

열간압연 프레스용 가열드럼 저어널부의 응력집중 최소화를 위한 형상 최적설계 (Shape Optimal Design to Minimize Stress Concentration in the Journal of the Heating Drum for a Hot-Rolling Press)

  • The present research deals with structural analysis and optimal design of the heating drum of a hot-rolling press for medium density fiberboard. Stress concentration in the journal of the heating drum is analyzed by the submodel technique of the finite element method. The fatigue life under operating conditions is analyzed and evaluated by the stress-life theory. Shape optimal design problems, to minimize the maximum stress occurring in the journal, are formulated and shape parameters of the corner fillets of the journal are defined as the design variables. The problems are solved by the numerical optimization method and optimal shapes are found. The optimal designs are shown to be reliable in terms of the maximum stress and the fatigue life.

선재압연공정의 소재 자유표면 형상예측 (Prediction of Stress Free Surface Profile of Wrokpiece in Rod Rolling Process)

  • A reliable analytic model that determines the cross sectional shape of a workpiece(material) in round-oval(or oval-round) pass sequence has been developed. the cross sectional shape of an outgoing workpiece is predicted by using the linear interpolation of the radius of curvature of an incoming workpiece and that of roll groove to the roll axis direction. The requirements we placed on the choice of the weighting function were to ensure boundary conditions specified. The validity of the analytic model has been examined by hot rod rolling experiment with the roll gap and specimen size changed. The cross sectional shape and area of a workpiece predicted by the proposed analytic model were good agreement with those obtained experimentally. It was found that the analytic model has not only simplicity and accuracy for practical usage but also save a large amount of computational time compared with finite element method.

젠지미어 압연기 제어시스템에서 형상인식에 관한 성능분석 (Performance analysis of shape recognition in Senzimir mill control systems)

  • In general, 20-high Sendzimir mills(ZRM) use small diameter work rolls to provide massive rolling force. Because of small diameter of work rolls, steel strip has a complex shape mixed with quarter, edge and center waves. Especially when the shape of the strip is controlled automatically, the actuator saturation occurs. These problems affect the productivity and quality of products. In this paper, the problems in automatic shape control of ZRM were analyzed. In order to evaluate the problems for the automatic shape control in ZRM, recognition performance was analyzed by comparing the measured shape and the recognized shape. The actuator positions by the shape recognition and the manual operation were compared. From the analysis results, the necessity of the improvement of recognition performance in ZRM is suggested.

열간압연시 미세조직 예측을 위한 유한요소 모델 (A Finite Element Model for Predicting the Microstructural Evolution in Hot Rolling)

  • A full three-dimensional thermo-coupled rigid-viscoplastic finite element method and the currently developed microstructural evolution system which includes semi-empirical equations suggested by different research groups were used together to form an integrated system of process and micro- structure simulation of hot rolling. The distribution and time histroy of the momechanical variables such as temperature, strain, strain rate, and time during pass and between passes were obtained from the finite element analysis of multipass hot rolling processes. The distribution of metallurgical variables were calculated on the basis of instantaneous thermomechanical data. For the verification of this method the evolution of microstructure in plate rolling and shape rolling was simulated and their results were compared with the data available in the literature. Consequently, this approach makes it possible to describe the realistic evolution of microstructure by avoiding the use of erroneous average value and can be used in CAE of multipass hot rolling.

냉간가공에 의한 CuZnAl계 현상기억합급의 결정립미세화와 특성평가 (The Effect of Cold-rolling on Microstructure and Transformation Behavior of Cu-Zn-Al shape Memory Alloy)

  • 본 연구는 냉간가공과 열처리를 통해 Cu-26.65Zn-4.05Al-0.31Ti(wt%) 형상기억합금의 결정립을 미세화하기 위한 목적으로 수행하였다. 냉간가공을 위하여는 α-상이 가능한 많이 존재하는 (α+β)-조직을 가져야 하는데, 이는 550℃에서 열처리함으로써 얻었고, 최종두께 1mm로 냉간압연하였다. 총 압연율은 70%와 90%이었다. 냉간압연한 판재를 800℃에서 가열 후 급랭함으로써 형상기억특성을 갖는 상으로 변태시켰으며, 이 대 결정립크기를 측정한 결과, 열간압연한 경우보다 냉간압연과 열처리를 한 경우의 결정립이 월등히 작아졌음을 보여주었다. 냉간압연과 열처리를 한 경우에는 냉간압연 변형율이 큰 경우가 결정립이 더 작아지는 경향을 보였다. 또한 결정립크기가 작아짐에 따라 변태온도가 저하되었으며 오스테나이트상이 더 안정하게 되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. In this study, cold-rolling and appropriate annealing was adopted for the grain refining of Cu-26.65Zn-4. 05Al-0.31Ti(wt%) shape memory alloy. For the cold deformation of this alloy the ducti1e α-phase must be contained. After heat treatment at 550℃ the (α+β)-dual phase with 40vol.% α-phase was obtained which could be rolled at room temperature. This alloy was cold rolled into a final thickness of 1.0mm with total reduction degrees of 70% and 90%. The rolled sheets were betanized at 800℃ for various times, then quenched into ice water. The grain size of co]d rolled samples were 60∼80 ㎛ which is much smaller comparing with the hot-rolled samples. And the 90% rolled sample showed smaller grain size than the case of the 70% rolled one. The small grain size had influence on the phase transformation temperatures and stabilization of the austenitic phases.

냉각압연 가공용 자동 형상제어장치의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Automatic Flatness Control System for Cold Rolling)

  • Flatness of cold rolled strip is vital to the quality of the product and productivity of the mill. Therefore, in recent year requirement for flatness control in strip rolling have become increasingly severe. The necessity for more accurate automatic gauge control and automatic flatness control(AFC) has increased by customer's requirement for cold rolled steel sheets with thinner gauge and better flatness quality. In this paper, the performance and functions of AFC system installed on the 4 hi-reversing mill has been investigated under actual conditions. The test results are as follows : The more strip thickness is thick, the smaller the I-value. The I-value is a strain measured by stressometer. Complex distributions of strip tension are controlled to remove not only a quarter buckle but also a simple center wave and edge wave. The defects caused by poor flatness have been drastically decreased. And a proper coolant temperature for work roll cooling system on the AFC system is about $50~55^{\circ}C$.

형상기억복합재료에 대한 온라인 모니터링 시스템 개발 (Development of On-line Monitoring System for Shape Memory Alloy Composite)

  • 형상기억복합재료를 제조하기 위하여 핫프레스 방법을 이용하여 최적의 제조조건을 도출하였으며 냉간압연에 의해 기지재와 강화재의 계면접합을 강화하여 강도를 증가시켰다. 이러한 방법에 의해 제조된 형상기억복합재료에 대하여 외부 하중에 의한 손상정도와 균열의 발생을 감지하여 균열 발생 및 진전을 억제하는 온라인 모니터링 시스템을 개발하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 음향방출 신호의 파라미터를 이용하여 손상에 따른 최적의 AE 파라미터를 도출하였으며 가역시스템을 이용하여 형상기억합금을 가열함으로써 형상기억합금의 수축에 의한 복합재료 내부에 균열진전을 억제시키는 시스템을 개발하였다

  • 금속복합재료에서는 강화재와 기지재 사이의 열팽창계수 차이에 의해 복합재료 내부에 잔류응력이 남아있어 복합재료 전체의 강도저하를 가져온다. 본 연구에서는 TiNi 형상기억합금을 강화재료로써 이러한 잔류응력 문제를 해결하기 위하여 이용하였다. TiNi 형상기억합금은 형상기억효과를 이용하여 복합재료의 잔류응력문제를 해결할 뿐만 아니라 복합재료의 인장강도를 증가시키는 역할을 한다. 핫프레스 방법에 의해 제작된 형상기억복합재료의 강도증가를 위하여 냉간압연을 실시하여 실험을 실시하였다. 이와 같이 제작된 형상기억복합재료의 저온에서의 미시적 손상거동을 평가하기 위하여 음향방출기법을 이용하였다. 또한 열충격을 받은 시험편의 손상에 대한 연구도 이루어졌다.

  • Roll profile design in spape rolling with a complex-shaped part depends on the designer's experience, which is general, is acquired through costly trial-and-error process. As a prerequisite for developing a scientific approach to roll profile design, we present a finite element model to simulate 3-D deformation of complex-shaped parts occuring in multi-pass sequence. Demonstrated is the process model's capability to deal with rolling of a complex-shaped part.
