말하기는 곧 행위라는 주장이 화용론의 핵심명제이다. VTS 대화는 선박들의 효율적이고 안전한 항해를 위해 이루어지는 언어적 상호작용 행위이다. 본 연구에서는 모든 VTS 화행은 항해행위의 수행에 따른 부수적인 요소가 아니라 필수불가결한 요소라는 점에 주목하고자 하였다. 먼저 화용론에서 다루는 대화의 협력원칙, 공손원칙, 명령화행 및 약속화행의 적정성, 최소대화의 원칙을 VTS 대화 상황에 적용하여 VTS 화행의 특성을 정립하고자 하였다. 그리고 실제 발생했던 해양사고에서 선박 간 담화 또는 대화를 분석함으로써 화용론적 실패가 충돌사고에 어떻게 영향을 끼치는지를 검토해보았다. VTS 상황에서 이루어지는 담화 또는 대화분석을 통해 해양사고의 원인을 심도 있게 분석하는 방안과 이의 결과를 항해사 및 관제사 교육에 활용하는 방안을 제시하였다. 덧붙여서 co-Navigation 개념이 항해안전의 새로운 패러다임이 되어야 한다는 것을 주장하였다.

Collaboration between teacher librarians and parents is one of the very important elements for school library management in characteristics of learning communities and expanding its' administration. These partnerships are necessary to relieve stress and risk conditions and improve ego-resilience of students. This study analyzed cases of student guidance within the partnerships between teacher librarians and parents and then inquired into formal or informal communication channels for their partnerships through written interview with 10 teacher librarians. The results of analyses teacher librarians have appreciated the necessity of collaboration with parents, and they have experienced student guidance, career guidance, reader's advisory and balancing acts between classroom teachers and parents. It turns out that reading programs with parents are formal communication channel rather than institutional committee such as School Library Council and Parents' Library-Assisting Volunteers and Parent Association and Training in the school library are informal communication channels. The teacher librarians also provide periodic reading events and training for parents and they utilize the School Homepage and Educational Newsletters as the main ways of public relation. In order to promote students' ego-resilience through their collaboration, parents should involve in School Library Council as an essential way for formal communication. And parents' role in school library management should be expanded from offering helping hands to activities to read book, library instruction, assisting teacher librarians in the Library-Assisted Instruction and production of teaching mediums.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the interdependent partnership between liner shipping companies and port-related service firms on the service quality and transaction performance. The empirical analysis found that sharing information and mutual trust of partnership factor positively affected service quality of the port-related service firms, but the communication had negative effects on it. The interdependence had the interaction effect between the partnership and the service quality. Also, the service quality affected satisfaction of transaction and re-purchasing of the shipping companies. This study shows that the partnership to be formed mutual dependent relationship between shipping companies and the port-related firms improve the service quality of shipping service network and enhance transactional satisfaction of both parties.

This study examines the moderating effect of HQ-subsidiary cooperation on the relationships between standardization and on-time completion of new product development (NPD) and international new product rollout (INPR). It was empirically tested by a Korean sample to verify the validity of the research framework. The results show that the higher the HQ-subsidiary/agent cooperation, the stronger the effect of NPD timeliness on INPR timeliness. However, HQ-subsidiary cooperation does not moderate the relationship between standardization and INPR timeliness. Under conditions in which the subsidiary and headquarters have a positive relationship, open communications, and regular interactions, more successful new product development in terms of planned time schedule is strongly associated with a much faster introduction to overseas markets.

This study reviewed the library cooperation of the National Library of Korea and regional public libraries in Korea, and analyzed the actual condition and cooperation program of public libraries in Incheon. The results of this study proposed some directions to improve cooperation among public libraries in Incheon as follows: to strengthen infrastructure of local public libraries; to build up the position of regional representative library and set up effective management of library policy organization authorities; to resolve the problems derived from multiple administrations and harmonize communications among public libraries; to appoint and administer strongpoint libraries; to specialize local libraries concerning characteristics; to expand and improve the existing library cooperative programs such as shared purchasing, interlibrary loan, preservation, cooperation with small libraries etc.

The Purpose of this study is to examine the effect of communication competence and empathy on stress coping in college students. The research problems were verified by correlation analysis and multivariate regression analysis. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 292 college students. The findings are as follows. First, college students who have high communication competence show more problem-focused coping, social-support seeking coping, and self-soothing coping in stressful conditions, but less emotion-oriented coping and avoidance-oriented coping. Particularly, it is found that behavioral flexibility in communication competence has the greatest effect on problem-focused coping and emotion-oriented coping. Similarly, affiliation/support influences social support seeking coping, interaction management influences self-soothing coping and avoidance-oriented coping. Second, college students who have high empathy are also found more problem-focused coping, social-support seeking coping, and self-soothing coping in stressful conditions. Especially it is found that role-taking in empathy has the greatest effect on problem-focused coping self-soothing coping. Similarly, emotion recognition influences avoidance-oriented coping, emotional resonance influences emotion-oriented coping, authenticity influences social-support seeking coping.

The purpose of this study is to analyze communication topics in Journal of Korean Gerontological Society from 1980 to 2009. Out of all published over one thousand articles, 54 articles were selected by content analysis. The published time, the number of authors, the author's institutions, type of communication and media, methodologies, and so on were analyzed for this study. The conclusion of this study are as follows; First, the articles regarding on communication published only one throughout in 1980's. However, the articles have been gradually published since 1990's. Second, the authors came mainly from universities especially those who are engaged in social welfare field. Third, the types of communication are concentrated on group communication. Interestingly enough, it is found that mass communication such TV, magazine, and internet were analyzing in-depth. Telephone is one of most important mediated human communication media. On the contrary, mobile phone and computer were researched on not for the usage but for the education purposes. Forth, in methodologies, authors are used mainly survey method and selected content analysis in all media research. In conclusion, the scholars of gerontology and communications should co-operate and help each other to promote aging and communication field.

1980년대 이후 미국에서 통합 마케팅 커뮤니케이션(Integrated Marketing Communications) 개념이 본격적으로 도입된 이래 IMC는 국내외적으로 실무에서 폭 넓게 활용되고 있으며, 1990년대 이래 학문적으로도 많은 연구들이 행해지고 있다. 그러나 IMC는 여전히 새로운 학문분야로서 아직도 학문적으로 많은 논쟁이 일어나고 있으며 체계적인 이론 정립이 미흡한 상황이다. 이러한 상황에서 본 논문은 지금까지의 국내외 IMC 관련 연구들을 체계적으로 고찰하여 IMC 연구의 전체 흐름을 이해하고, 쟁점은 무엇인지 파악하여, 이를 바탕으로 향후 연구방향을 탐색하였다. 본 논문은 지금까지의 IMC 관련 연구를 IMC의 개념 및 인식에 관한 연구, IMC 실행에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구, IMC 실행과정에 관한 연구, IMC 실행의 효과에 관한 연구 등 크게 네 가지 형태로 분류하여 각 분야 연구들의 논점들을 정리하였다. 분석결과 IMC 연구에 있어서 주요 쟁점으로 학문적 체계에 관한 문제, IMC 실행 수준의 측정 문제, 연구방법상 실무자를 대상으로 한 설문에 지나치게 의존하고 있는 문제 등이 부각되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 향후 IMC 연구방향으로 IMC 정의 및 개념의 통일, 객관적인 IMC 측정방법의 연구, 광고주나 대행사뿐만 아니라 소비자 측면에서의 연구, 광고주와 대행사의 협력에 관한 연구, 구체적인 통합의 범위와 정도 및 효과를 규명하는 연구들이 필요한 것으로 드러났다.

This study aims at improving the limitations of current construction processes. Previous solutions to improve construction processes have been focused on the improvement of local processes. This paper proposes a method to improve global effectiveness of construction processes through ascertainment of communication among the process participants. This paper provides two case studies: Deck plate installation processes and Duct installation processes. The case study illustrates a way to improve global effectiveness by incorporating downstream participants such as specialty contractors in upstream construction processes such as design and planning.

In this study, collaboration of teacher librarians and subject teachers in school libraries has been investigated(tried, attempted, suggested) in order to improve the information literacy. The effective teaching-learning can be conducted by extending student's roles, which are essential elements in school education. Above all, the model. focused on direct exchange of knowledges in communications between teachers and students has been suggested with consideration of content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and technological knowledge.
