Comparative study of OFDMA cooperative relaying methods in Rayleigh fading channel (레일레이 퍼이딩 채널에서 OFDMA 협동 릴레이 방식에 따른 성능비교)

  • Recently, the relay communication is focused for the power saving and coverage extension of ad-hoc networks. For the high date rate transmission, it is proposed to adapt OFDMA relays. In this paper, we assume the 2 hop cooperative OFDMA relays between the source and the destination. The performance of 3 different relaying methods are derived and compared. We noticed that the selective OFDMA relaying method has the best performance followed by opportunistic OFDMA relaying and repetition-based OFDMA relaying method under the same threshold mutual information rate.

  • 본고에서는 앞으로의 무선통신 환경의 변화를 예측하고 변화에 대응하기 위한 해결방안으로 무선통신 시스템의 '지능화'와 '3차원화'를 제안한다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 지능형 인프라, 지능형 단말기, 협동통신, 3차원 채널 모델링의 4가지 요소로 구성된 지능형 3차원 무선통신 시스템에 대해 소개하고 현재 진행중인 관련 연구에 대해 살펴본다.

Performance Analysis of Energy-Efficiency of Non-Coherent Cooperative Relays for Wireless Sensor Networks (센서 네트워크기반 협동 릴레이의 에너지 효율성 분석)

  • The capacity criteria have been proposed in order to select a cooperative relay node in WSNs, under the environment where direct path has a poor link gain. This process may ensure the efficiency improvement of signal transfer between source and destination and reduction of energy consumption as well. Two criteria are incorporated to select a cooperative relay node. Firstly, calculate the energy gain ratio between the relay path and the direct path. These are defined as the ratio between the energy factors of 1/g and 1/B. Each stands for an inverse of direct path gain and relay path gain. Secondly, investigate the effects of relay node's usage in WSNs through the simulation in terms of energy consumption. In conclusion, using a selected cooperative relay node based on the selected criteria is effective in terms of both energy efficiency and capacity of WSNs especially when direct path gain is relatively low.

Performance Analysis of a Double Opportunistic Cooperative Diversity System with Uniform Power Relay Selection (균일전력 릴레이 선택방식을 적용한 이중 기회전송 협동 다이버시티 시스템의 성능분석)

  • Cooperative diversity system can be applied to an ad-hoc network for reduction of the power consumption, for expansion of the communication range, and for improving the system performance. In a selection relay cooperative diversity system which selects the maximal SNR(Signal-to-noise ratio) relay for transmitting the source information, the selected strong relay transmits continuously under slow fading channel, consequently it reduces the network lifetime. To overcome this defect, recently the uniform power relay selection has been studied to expand the network life time. We apply the uniform power relay selection to a DOT(Double opportunistic transmit) cooperative system that select the transmit relays, of which the SNR of the transmit relays exceed both of the source-relay and the relay-destination threshold. And the performance of the system is analytically derived. The performance comparisons are made among SC(Selection combining), MRC(Maximal ratio combining), and uniform power relay selection of the cooperative diversity system. We noticed that the performance of the uniform power relay selection is inferior to that of others. It is interpreted that the uniform transmit opportunity to the selected relays for extension of the network lifetime degrades the performance.

  • In this paper, We propose that the adaptive cooperative relay transmission technique using closed-loop MIMO scheme for duplex communication system. As the mobility between relay and base station is little, closed-loop MIMO is better diversity gain than open-loop MIMO. At this time, more than one relaying terminals are included in one cooperative group to share their transmission and take precoding weight feedback. For minimization of throughput reduction caused by increasing feedback bits, we use codebook-based MRT that limit the number of feedback bits. Among the cooperative relay group, the best relays are selected from the base stataion and get the feedback. A protocol senarios are also proposed for this relay system.

  • In this paper, we characterise the joint interference alignment and power allocation strategies for a K-user multicell multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Gaussian interference channel. We consider a MIMO interference channel with a blind interference alignment through staggered antenna switching on the receiver. We explore the power allocation and the feasibility condition for cooperative cell-edge (CE) mobile users (MUs) by assuming that the channel state information is unknown. The new insight behind the transmission strategy of the proposed scheme is premeditated (randomly generated transmission strategy) and partial cooperative CE MUs, where the transmitter is equipped with a conventional antenna, the receiver is equipped with a reconfigurable multimode antenna (staggered antenna switching pattern), and the receiver switches between preset T modes. Our proposed scheme assists and aligns the desired and interference signals to cancel the common interference signals, since the received signal must have a corresponding independent signal subspace. The sum capacity for a K-user multicell MIMO Gaussian interference channel with reconfigurable multimode antennas is completely characterised.

  • The most frequently used noise model for the performance analysis of a communication system is additive white Gaussian noise. However impulsive noise model is more practical for the real communication environments, currently the performance analysis of a communication system in impulsive noise is increasing. In this paper, therefore, the performance of a cooperative system, which is recently one of the most intensive research topics, is derived in impulsive noise. We analytically derive and compare the performance of two opportunistic cooperative diversity systems which have an amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying or a decode-and-forward (DF) relaying. It is noticed that the impulsive noise component is increases with decreasing the average number of impulses in impulsive noise, consequently the performance of two systems is degraded in high SNR region. Also it is shown that the performance of the opportunistic cooperative system with DF relaying is superior to that with AF relaying.

  • Cooperative diversity is a cooperative technique which exploits user diversity by decoding the combined signal of the relayed signal and the direct signal in wireless multi-hop networks. Using the cooperation, the performance of the network system can be improved because cooperative diversity which is very strong against the fading channels can be achieved. In this paper, we propose the technique that provides the enhanced visual quality of the reconstructed video using the cooperative diversity with the FMO which is the error resilience tool of H.264/AVC standardization over wireless networks. The eye-tracker can detect the gaze point of user and transmit the gaze information to the nodes. After receiving the gaze information of user, each node performs ROI encoding according to the received gaze information. After encoding, video sources are divided into ROI and Non-ROI. Through the simulation results, the better visual quality of the reconstructed video is achieved when ROI and Non-ROI are transmitted through different channels.

  • While total sales of broadcasting business have been increasing, terrestrial broadcasters' sales are stagnant and comprehensive programming program providers(PPs)' sales are increasing. The purpose of this study is to derive implications by analyzing the relative efficiency and super-efficiency of domestic broadcasters in such an asymmetric situation. In this study, we use input and output data of three central terrestrial broadcasters and four comprehensive programming PPs from 2012 to 2019. For the analysis, Additive DEA model and Additive super-efficiency DEA model are used with the assumption of VRS condition since the broadcasting industry is characterized by economies of scale. As a result, we find out that the input excess of tangible assets is the most decisive cause of inefficiency that reduces the efficiency of central terrestrial broadcasters. On the other hand, for the comprehensive programming PPs, the input excess of tangible assets and the output shortfall of total sales are important factors of inefficiency.

  • 본 논문은 분산된 협동적 개발 환경에서 제품 설계 정보 재사용을 위한 제품 영상 기반의 제품 설계 정보 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템은 에지기반 라벨링(EBL) 방법으로 제품 영상을 분할하고 각 분할 영역의 속성과 영역간의 관계를 표현하는 속성 관계 그래프(ARG)을 생성하여 질의 영상과의 부합을 수행한다. 검색된 유사 영상과 연결된 제품 설계 정보를 접근함으로써 영상 검색을 통한 제품 설계 정보의 재사용이 가능하다. 본 시스템의 주요 이점은 다음과 같다. (1) 비율을 이용한 특징 벡터에 의해 다양한 크기의 유사 부품을 포함한 영상의 검색이 가능하다. (2) 분할된 각 부품의 영역, R,G,B 채널의 표준편차등의 다양한 속성(특징)과 그들의 관계를 적용하기 때문에 검색 능력이 뛰어나다. (3) 주변 장치로부터 쉽게 획득할 수 있는 래스터 영상을 이용하므로 활용성이 높다.
