  • In this study, strengthening methods of floor surface finishing mortar are investigated to prevent the cracks using crack inhibitor agents, water reducer agent and resin. As a results, The number of crack and compressive strength of the specimen containing water reducer agent or resin had more effective than other specimens containing inhibitor agents at 7 days. And the highest compressive strength specimen showed the relatively no crack, but the lowest compressive strength specimen showed a lot of crack. Therefore the relationship between the crack growth and the compressive strength had proportional connection. A base on the mock-up test, long-term monitoring of the on-site applied to mixing design type3 showed the few cracks.

  • As the physical and mechanical properties of lightweight air-mixed soil change in the procedure of transportation of mix truck, it is necessary to assure whether the properties during construction satisfy those in design. In this study, variations of properties of mixed soil after transportation by mix truck are proved by field test. Lightweight air-mixed soil used field test the unit weight of $9.0{\pm}1.0kN/m^3$, the flow value of $190{\pm}20mm$ was produced. To analyze variations of properties of mixed soil the unit weight and flow value of the sample before and after transport was measured unconfined compressive strength tests were performed. Mixing time was 19~175 minutes diversified. As the test results, it is known that the density, the flow value and the unconfined compressive strength of lightweight air-mixed soil change by transportation, but these values satisfy the specifications of material of air-mixed soil. After transportation the average value of the unit weight and flow value change in the flow of the $(+)0.10kN/m^3$, 4.8 mm respectively, the average change in the unit weight and the flow value due to the mixing time was constant. And unconfined compressive strength of 28-day specimen increases from 20 to $150kN/m^2$. But, these values do not have some clear relationship with the transportation time within 175 minutes which is longest test time. Consequently, Within 175 minutes the changes of properties by transportation are too small to show some problems in the construction field.

  • In other to recycle the waste concrete produced in stiu on the construction and management in highway, the recycled aggregates were experimentally examined in a practical application for anti-freezing layer and lean concrete base course. From the results, the mobile impact crusher and the eccentric-mounted cone and jaw were superior to the others for the graded aggregates. In the case of anti-freezing layer, the recycled one was easily controlled since the dry densities, contrary to natural one, were not largely changed with the moisture contents. It was found that the 7days compressive strengths of lean concrete were above the 10MPa regardless of the crushing types. From the result of testing the bearing capacity of anti-freezing layer, it was found that when the recycled aggregates mixed with natural sand would be within the required gradations, the layer meets the requirements of limitation and the percentage to passing 2-20mm sieve increased by 5~13% because the flimsy mortars on aggregate were re-crushed by vibrated-roller compactor. Although the compressive strength of lean concrete was 71~85% of the natural coarse aggregate, the recycled aggregates are applicable to the lean concrete because they largely exceeded the required strength, 5.8MPa.

  • For the development of a floating photovoltaic system, materials with light weight and high tensile strength must be applied to reduce the burden on buoyancy, and material characteristics with high resistance to corrosion in water environment is required. Accordingly, a new high strength steel material with improved strength, durability, manufacturability, and weldability that are appropriate for floating photovoltaic system structures is needed. This paper reports the results of a mechanical load test and steel corrosion test on general steel (SS400) and high strength steel (POSH 690) for the selection of an appropriate steel material for a floating photovoltaic system. The results of a test on new high strength steel revealed excellent mechanical performance compared to general steel. The new steel material was manufactured for use in an actual site, and the weight was reduced by approximately 30~40% compared to existing general steel.

  • Along with the advanced construction technologies, the maximum size of coarse aggregate used for dam construction ranges from several cm to 1m. Testing the original gradation samples is not only expensive but also causes many technical difficulties. Generally, indoor tests are performed on the samples with the parallel grading method after which the results are applied to the design and interpretation of the actual geotechnical structure. In order to anticipate the exact behavior characteristics for the geotechnical structure, it is necessary to understand the changes in the shear behavior. In this study, the Large Triaxial Test was performed on the parallel grading method samples that were restructured with river bed sand-gravel, with a different maximum size, which is the material that was used to construct Dam B in Korea. And the Stress - Strain characteristics of the parallel grading method samples and the characteristics of the shear strength were compared and analyzed. In the test results, the coarse-grained showed strain softening and expansion behavior of the volume, which became more obvious as the maximum size increased. The internal angle of friction and the shear strength appeared to increase as the maximum size of the parallel grading method sample increased.

  • In this study, it was examined a strength characteristic of organic acid material that is eco-friendly and low energy as a soil improving material. The object of this study is to analysis of strength changes with observing the clay mixed organic acid material through the unconfined compression strength test and triaxial compression test during 28 days. As a result of the tests, the strength of clay mixed organic acid material is increased when the more ages are prolonged, the more organic acid material mixture ratio growed. Therefore, in grasping the strength improvement effects of clay by organic acid material mixing, it confirmed that organic acid material as soil improving material is effective through unconfined compression strength test and triaxial compression test. Through this test, the definite strength increase is confirmed according to the mixture of the organic acid material and the possibility of soil improvement is also confirmed based on this result. From now on, detailed examination and field test will help closely to definite strength characteristics.

  • Composite construction of precast concrete and cast-in-place concrete is currently used for the modular construction. In this case, the use of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) could be beneficial for precast concrete. However, the shear strength of such composite members (SFRC and cast-in-place concrete) is not clearly defined in current design codes. In the present study, steel fiber composite beam tests were conducted to evaluate the effect of steel fibers on the composite members. The test variables are the area ratio of SFRC and shear reinforcement ratio. The test results showed that when minimum horizontal shear reinforcement was used, the shear strength of composite beams increased in proportion to the area ratio of steel fiber reinforced concrete. However, because of the steel fiber, the composite beams were susceptible to horizontal shear failure. Thus, minimum horizontal shear reinforcement is required for SFRC composite beams.

  • This study analyzed the field applicability through the combination of environment-friendly grid-typed reinforcements and pre-mixed fiber with filler. The film of the grid-typed reinforcement is made by recycled PE resin. And, Ascon fiber is obtained the dispersion by pre-mixing of filler. To be able to recognize in advance the various circumstances that could arise in the construction of the road pavement layer, we conducted a basic field application test of the (Mock Up) pavement layer. As a result, it was found that the pavement with environment-friendly grid-typed reinforcement and dispersive fiber construction had improved strength, stress, and rutting resistance. It is consistent with the strength and stress results of the actual test of the mock up specimen. It is expected to perform an effective role in the safety as well as the use of environment-friendly fibers in actual construction.

  • Recently, ground pits that have been occurring frequently in urban areas are hindering traffic flow and causing property damages and loss of human life, acting as factors that are threatening the safety of citizens. Therefore, sunken ground must be quickly restored and provisions must be made for additional damage but current domestic detailed standards regarding ground pits and accurate definitions regarding causes and measures to be taken for reoccurrences are lacking. Restoration methods of sunken ground include backfilling by reusing sunken soil or other fill material and paving the road and while this is the most often used method, this only prevents ground from sinking temporarily and can not serve as a fundamental solution. Also, additional ground pits can occur on ground that is reinforced using this method due to faulty backfill material or faulty hardening. This study used Eco-friendly High-Strength Material (EHSM) as restoration material that can be used in the restoration of underground cavities that have occurred due to ground subsidence to analyze the engineered characteristics of modified dredging clay and test pieces made from changed ratios of EHSM and weathered granite soil were uniaxial compression tests were conducted and freezing-thawing tests were conducted to study strength properties according to environmental changes of restoration material, and after tests were concluded by each level, uniaxial compression tests and dynamic elasticity tests were conducted for intensity analysis. Also, to evaluate strength characteristics of the restored ground, dynamic plate load tests were conducted to verify the improvement effectiveness of the restored ground.

  • Domestic practices in shotcrete use have developed in many respects even now, but it still has issues about material, construction, quality standard and so on. In overseas, the construction using high strength shotcrete with $39.2{\sim}58.8 MPa$ of compressive strength is becoming common based on the shotcrete technology of high strength and durability. However, domestic shotcrete design strength is low at around 20.6 MPa of compressive strength and a long term durability is also insufficient. In this paper, field tests using high-quality additives and accelerators were performed to obtain the improvement of shotcrete strength and EFNARC standard was used to evaluate the field test results. In addition, deterioration test combined with the freezing-thawing and carbonation was also performed in order to investigate a long-term durability of high-strength shotcrete. As a result of the field test, the promotion ratio of early strength was $90{\sim}97%$ in case of using alkali-free accelerators. And the compressive strength of the shotcrete using Micro-silica fume was $45.2{\sim}55.8MPa$ and flexible strength was $5.01{\sim}6.66MPa$, so the promotion ratio of strength was $37{\sim}79%$ and $17{\sim}61%$ respectively. The promotion effect of strength by silica fine additives ratio of $7.5{\sim}10%$ for cement mass was much superior to the other cases. It was especially examined that using Micro-silica fume reduced deterioration due to mixed steel fiber and improved a long-term durability of shotcrete.
