The present study proposes and examines a new type of multiple-choice math test. In this format, the options are the intermediate derivatives of the math problem solution process rather than the final answers. This idea originates from the studies on the effect of worked-out examples. In these studies, it has been shown that students learn better when they were presented with worked-out examples than when presented with final answers by themselves. In line with these findings, we introduced the intermediate derivatives of the solution process as the options of multiple-choice items so that the test-taker will have a chance to examine the solution process. The test was implemented as a computerized test in which students can solve problems in a short answer format, and then pick a multiple-choice option which appears when requested. The experimental group had multiple-choice options which were intermediate derivatives of the solution process, and the control group had the final answers as the options as in most multiple-choice tests. The participants were 6th graders in elementary school. The posttest results revealed that the average score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. The results suggest that tests that use intermediate derivatives of the problem solution process as options can be used as learning tools in the classrooms. Finally, directions for further studies were discussed.
The purpose of this study is to develope the more effective chemistry teaching strategy through analyzing the demanded cognitive levels of contents in high school chemistry I textbooks and the cognitive levels of students who learn these textbooks. For this purpose, the levets of cognitive development stages of 821 second grade students of high schools in Seoul City were anaIyzed using the GALT short version test. The demanded cognitive levels of understanding the contents of chemistry I textbooks in high school were analyzed using the curriculum analysis taxonomy developed by CSMS (Concept in Secondaly Mathematics and Science) program of the Great Britain. The resuIts showed that the proportion of students in the concrete operational stage, the transition stage, and the formal operational stage was l0.7%, 43.0% and 46.3%, respectively. The demanded levels of textbook contents were mostly the early formal operational stages. The concepts demanded the level of the late formal operational stage were 'atomic and molecular weight', 'stoichiometry of chemical reaction', and 'periodic properties of elements'. The results will be helpful for teachers in knowing what concepts are difficult for students to understand and in planning strategies for teaching those concepts. To demonstrate the application of the results obtained in this study, an example of developing teaching strategy which includes the adjustment of cognitive level of contents was shown.
In STEAM education, contents that has been extracted from a variety of areas, so it can work closely and systematically. Therefore STEAM education requires systems thinking that can be grasped effectively these different disciplines. The purposes of this study are to develop a STEAM program based on systems thinking, and apply the program to the secondary science gifted student in order to investigate the educational effect. A model of the Program developed from previous research and theoretical contents of systems thinking and STEAM. A draft of the STEAM program was developed on the theme of "rocket". A total of 113 students was participated in this study. 100 seventh and 13 eighth graders were enrolled at seigy. A single group pre-post test paired t-test was conducted on them in systems thinking skills. Result of applying the program to the students as follows. The systems thinking ability was improved after the application of the program. 'Mental Model', 'Personal Skill', 'Team Learning', and 'System Analysis', 'Shared Vision' emerged for both improved significantly. In conclusion, the STEAM program based on system thinking improves students' systems thinking skills. This program of results can be helpful in cultivate human resources with the problem solving ability based on system thinking and STEAM literacy by used in public education curriculum.

An aerial multi-looking camera system equips itself with five separate cameras which enables acquiring one vertical image and four oblique images at the same time. This provides diverse information about the site compared to aerial photographs vertically. The geometric relationship of oblique cameras and a vertical camera can be modelled by 6 exterior orientation parameters. Once the relationship between the vertical camera and each oblique camera is determined, the exterior orientation parameters of the oblique images can be calculated by the exterior orientation parameters of the vertical image. In order to examine the exterior orientation of both a vertical camera and each oblique cameras in the multi-looking camera relatively, calibration targets were installed in a lab and 14 images were taken from three image stations by tilting and rotating a non-metric digital camera. The interior orientation parameters of the camera and the exterior orientation parameters of the images were estimated. The exterior orientation parameters of the oblique image with respect to the vertical image were calculated relatively by the exterior orientation parameters of the images and error propagation of the orientation angles and the position of the projection center was examined.

This study questions that mathematical evaluations strive to memorize fragmentary knowledge and have an objective test. To solve these problems on mathematical education We did descriptive test. Through the descriptive test, students think and express their ideas freely using mathematical terms. We want to know if that procedure is correct or not, and, if they understand what was being presented. We studied this because We want to analyze where and what kinds of faults they committed, and be able to correct an error so as to establish a correct mathematical concept. The result from this study can be summarized as the following; First, the mistakes students make when solving the descriptive tests can be divided into six things: error of question understanding, error of concept principle, error of data using, error of solving procedure, error of recording procedure, and solving procedure omissions. Second, students had difficulty with the part of the descriptive test that used logical thinking defined by mathematical terms. Third, errors pattern varied as did students' ability level. For high level students, there were a lot of cases of the solving procedure being correct, but simple calculations were not correct. There were also some mistakes due to some students' lack of concept understanding. For middle level students, they couldn't understand questions well, and they analyzed questions arbitrarily. They also have a tendency to solve questions using a wrong strategy with data that only they can understand. Low level students generally had difficulty understanding questions. Even when they understood questions, they couldn't derive the answers because they have a shortage of related knowledge as well as low enthusiasm on the subject.

This study was to analyze the effects of basic computational abilities using G-learning contents, which was developed for mathematically slow learners. The participant students were 146 mathematically slow learners in grade 3-6 in Seoul. The researchers analyzed the difference between pre and post test scores to check their effectiveness. Also, teachers and parents as well as students responded survey items to check dispositions and satisfactions towards the program. The research results showed that the application of the G-learning contents on basic computation areas was effective to develop students' basic computational skills. In addition, students also showed that they were satisfied studying basic computations with the G-learning contents. They had increased beliefs about and decreased difficulties in mathematics. Parents and teachers also had satisfactions in using the G-learning programs in spite of some negative effects such as errors in the contents, use of computers, and concentration on the game itself. For the improvement of G-learning contents, we need to keep studying on G-learning contents with wide range of areas and long term studies.

The purpose of this study was to develop the web-based practical problem-solving teaching plans for middle school home economics class. Five practical problems which were obesity, food waste, processed food, genetically-modified food, and imported food were selected based on the food, nutrition and diet of adolescent in middle school home economics syllabus. Web-based practical problem-solving teaching plans were consisted of 5 processes: 1)recognition of the practical problem, 2)gathering and evaluation of various information, 3)figure out the best way to tackle the practical problem, 4)put into behavioral practice, and 5)analyze the results of the behavioral practice. For the effective lesson, several supplemental materials, such as individual and group reports format. obesity test methods, animations. pictures, and modules were developed. Teaching plans including supplemental materials provided might be useful to middle school home economics teachers.
The research is a study on the effects of MMORPG (Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game) utilized in educational program. We investigated the possibilities of online game as an educational tool, especially in the field of economy education. Students have been taught market, price, profit, scarcity of goods etc., and then they played an online game we provided. Students manufactured cyber goods and also sold or bought various materials to maximize their profits. A experimental group was compared with a control group on measures of economic self-efficacy, motivation for economic learning, and attitude for economic learning, economic self-efficacy and motivation for economic leaning scales consist of 2 factors and attitude for economic leaning consists of 1 factor. Participants were 5th grade elementary school students(experimental group: 154, control group: 158). After the experiment, students' self-efficacy and motivations for economy learning have increased significantly. It has been found that students understand more easily the difficult economic terms such as' inflation', 'price setting', 'scarcity of goods etc. Their motivations for economy learning also increased significantly. This result indicates that online games have the potentiality that can be utilized as an educational tool.
The purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation index that can assess the Army training program of Green Camp. The result of the evaluation index phased-developed with the CIPP model is summarized below. First, the literature review with documents relevant to program evaluation, Green Camp field research, and expert discussions were used to select factors considered for evaluation and develop a preliminary evaluation area and item for the four areas within the CIPP evaluation model. Second, an initial survey targeting Green Camp and soldiers in the Capital Defense Command examined the preliminary reliability·validity, and the Focused Group discussions were used to supplement the evaluation index. Third, secondary surveys were conducted in four battalions in Gangwon-do and third surveys targeted officers from twelve different corps and personnels related to the Green Camp which verified descriptive statistics analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and correlation analysis in version SPSS 24. Fourth, with the validation verification procedure, 16 evaluation area and 36 evaluation index was confirmed. Fifth, the 36 evaluation index developed was subdivided into 57 indexes and the Delphi method was applied through the policy expert to formulate 43 generalized indexes. The significance of this phased research approach was considered for the institutionalization of the usage of scientific evaluation(index) and development in policy process.
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the current status of a program for an elementary math class for gifted students in Daegu and to propose a remedy. The main results of this thesis are as follows. First, goals of the gifted class and the basic operation direction were satisfactory, however plans for parent training programs and self evaluation of the classes were not presented. Therefore, it needs when and how to do for specific plan of gifted class evaluation and parent training programs. Second, The annual instruction plan has been restricted to the subject matter education and field trips and has not included specific teaching methods in accordance with the contents of learning program. The management of gifted classes, therefore, requires not only the subject matter education and field trips but also output presentations, leadership programs, voluntary activities, events and camps which promote the integral development of gifted students. Third, there is no duplication of content to another grade, and various activities did not cover the whole scope of math topics(eg. number and operation, geometry, measurement, pattern) equally. In accordance with elementary mathematics characteristics, teachers should equally distribute time in whole range of mathematics while they teach students in the class because it is critical to discover gifted students throughout the whole curriculum of elementary mathematics. Fourth, as there are insufficient support and operational lack of material development, several types of programs are not utilized and balanced. It is necessary for teachers to try to find the type of teaching methods in accordance with the circumstances and content, so that students can experience several types of programs. If through this study, we can improve the development, management and quality of gifted math programs, it would further the development of gifted education.
