This research tried to project hidden and overall side of market economy system of capitalism through desire and fetishism of consumer society. The objective of this research lies in examining desire code of capitalism society through hidden side of consumer society and the reason why modern people are crazy about products, the meaning of product re-creation in tempting modern consumer society, life where all desire is satisfied by products. As a result, we intended to demonstrate that post-industrial society is the one triggered by desire and that society desired in post-industrial society is the very cultural, social study realized to enable modern people to survive in modern society through Martin Parr's pictures.

본고는 Bob Usherwood의 The Public Library as Public Knowledge (London, LA Publishing, 1989)의 ‘Prologue'와 ’Part one The social context'를 번역한 것이다. 이 책에서는 현대사회에 있어서 공공도서관에 관련된 문제들을 사회적 측면, 정치적 측면, 경제적 측면, 커뮤니케이션적 측면, 직업적 측면에서 분석하고, 사회적 감시기관으로서의 공공도서관의 역할을 제시하고 있다. 기존의 접근법과는 전혀 다른 견해가 새로운 시각을 제공하리라 기대한다.

According to Braybrooke(1976) and Sobel(1976), the traditional problem of the social contract is insoluble as long as it assume the 'agents with the rational egoistic motivations' in the 'circumstances such as the state of nature'. The problem of social contract is so called because it defies solution and it runs in the family of social contract theory. Then, do contemporary social contract theories have a solution? I argue that contemporary social contractarians fail to supply a solution due to a previous question or a circulation problem in their theories. And then, I show how conventionalism helps social contractarianism escape the problem.

본 논문에서는 최근 국내의 재난 이슈로 부각된 지진 대응과 관련된 사회적 자본 손실에 대한 분석을 시도하고자 한다. 각종 재난 상황에서 경제적, 인적 피해에 대한 추정과 조사는 당연하게 이루어지는 반면, 사회자본 손실에 대한 논의는 부족한 것이 사실이다. 사회적 자본은 하나의 가치로 인식될 뿐 실생활에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 무형의 자본으로 인식되는 경우는 거의 없다. 그러나 현대사회에서 사회자본의 그 유용성과 역할은 작지 않다. 오늘날의 물적, 인적 자원은 그 양과 질적인 면에서 충분한 수준을 이루었으나, 사회가 발전하는 데에는 또 다른 자본의 영향이 있음을 인정하는 것이 현재의 흐름이다. 바로 이때 논의할 수 있는 것이 사회자본인 것이다. 현대에 발생하는 모든 재난에 대응하고 이를 관리하는 데에도 물적, 인적 자원 외에 사회적 자본이 필요하다. 물적, 인적 자원이 충분히 확보되고 동원되었는데도 불구하고 재난관리가 실패할 수 있는 이유에는 사회적 자본 붕괴가 논의될 수 있을 것이다. 이에 재난관리에 있어서 사회자본의 중요성을 인식함은 물론 이를 측정하고 분석하기 위한 다양한 노력들이 필요할 것이다.

Nowadays comic strip(or comics) has surpassed its limits as a role of humor and amusement. And it has firmly established its role as a kind of public information and mass media. Furthermore it is used as materials for effective learning and human nature education to prevent the problems caused by rapid changes, and means to lessen or relax stress. The author will examine the specific ability, characteristics and potential of comics in this modem society. This paper will discuss the results caused by comic strip and show the possibility that comics can achieve the aim as a mass media
