세라믹스에 있어서 균열 성장과 파괴

  • 세라믹스 기계구조용 부품으로 사용되기 시작하고 있는 이 때에 원료분말의 합성으로부터 부 품의 제조 및 가공에 이르는 기술도 중요하지만 그 부품의 신뢰성을 파악하기 위한 평가기술 역시 매우 중요하다. 세라믹스의 제조공정으로부터 평가기술에 이르기까지의 모든 과정은 결국 세라믹스의 균열성장을 막고 파괴를 방지하려는 것에 그 최대의 목적을 두고 있다. 세라믹스는 당면 및 금후의 산업혁신의 관건을 쥐고 있으며 2000년대에는 하나의 기간산업으로 될 수 있을 것으로 전망된다.

Korean Innovation Policy of the 2000s : Pursuit of "Creation" and "Integration" (2000년대 한국의 과학기술혁신정책 : '창조'와 '통합'의 지향)

  • This study aims at reviewing and assessing the characteristics of the Korean Science, Technology and Innovation(STI) policy of the 2000s. Starting from the 2000s, Korea's STI policy began to show a new look as there was a clear voice calling for the new strategy creating a new technological development path and the scope of the policy was expanded to the social and quality of life issues. "Creation" and "integration" are becoming the key words of the STI policy of Korea. However, these new trends are not easy to be diffused or institutionalized because still there is the legacy of the old practice of the "catch-up" period, which focused on economic development as well as the imitation of advanced technologies. As result, the current period of the 2000s shows characteristics of a transitional period where the past and the future coexist.

The Characteristics of Corporate Growth and Innovation in the Materials, Components, and Equipments Sectors of Korean Display Industrial Value Chain (한국 디스플레이산업 가치사슬별 소재부품 및 장비기업의 성장과 혁신 특성)

  • Display industry in Korea has been rapidly developing over 20 years, now taking the top-class leading position in the world. Nevertheless, many previous studies have mainly focused on major panel set makers. To overcome the drawbacks, this study focuses on supplier companies in the upstream of display industry such as materials, components, and equipments sectors. The research method used in this study is an industry value chain perspective combined with architectural innovation approach. Display panel is produced through fabrication process and modular process, each having a different characteristics of process architecture. This research figured out that there are quite a different development characteristics between materials and components suppliers and equipment suppliers. The number and revenue of materials and components suppliers were quite larger than equipments suppliers. However, the former has been growing mainly in the field of modular process, having a very weak position in the field of fabrication process. On the contrary, equipments suppliers have been showing a continuously growing pattern in the field of fabrication process. The R&D expenditures between these two kinds of suppliers showed a similar pattern. The fabrication process of display panel production is characterized as a highly integral architecture characteristics, so as to be a strong barriers to local suppliers, resulting less development of materials and components suppliers in Korea.

  • Recently, there have been an increasing concern for a continuous growth inside the company due to its being complacent about their present business and not taking challenges for innovation. Corporate entrepreneurship is the one that receives an attention as a breakthrough for this growth. Since it has been perceived as an effective means of promoting an innovation, Korean firms have tried to develop innovative products and businesses, reject hierarchical and rigid organizational culture, and settle more flexible and innovative culture through corporate venturing system. In this research, case studies on three Korean firms'corporate venturing system were conducted. It also investigated differences in operation and vitalization of corporate venturing system depending on the type of how it is implemented in the company by analyzing case studies with combining the type of corporate entrepreneursip's realization and the framework for its vitalization.

The Characteristics and Implications of the Socially-Oriented Innovation Policy (사회적 목표 지향적 혁신정책의 특성과 함의)

  • This study investigates the characteristics and implications of the newly emerging socially-oriented innovation policy. The socially-oriented innovation policy has systemic views on the evolution of socio-technical system and innovation policy. It's ultimate goal is the transition toward sustainable socio-technical system and it takes "strategic niche management" approach for the transition policy. The governance structure of the policy is more open to the public actors, such as social service organizations and public institutes. As a case study, "the Technology-based Policy for the Enhancement of Quality of Life", which is the first comprehensive socially-oriented policy of Korea, is examined and it is suggested that the policy has some limitations because of the path dependency of targeting-oriented and catching-up style innovation policy of Korea.

  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has attracted great attention from diverse home and foreign industries. To provide lessons learned and action principles based on real RPA adoption and application experiences, various case studies have been conducted. However, lacking is an investigation of public sector for RPA adoption, especially in Korea. To reduce the research gap, this study presents a case study of RPA adoption by a representative Korean ICT public organization, NIA (National Information society Agency). By automating a core process, entering a document to a governmental portal service, NIA has achieved various management performances in terms of cost, operation, and business impacts. Especially, by relieving four types of rigidity of public institutions (i.e. structure, human resource, tasks, and rules), Our case study result suggests that RPA enables public institutes to overcome obstacles of pursuing digital transformation. Implications and limitations for future public RPA adopters are offered.

A Study on the Factors Influencing Technology Innovation Capability on the Knowledge Management Performance of the Company: Focused on Government Small and Medium Venture Business R&D Business (기술혁신역량이 기업의 지식경영성과에 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 정부 중소벤처기업 R&D사업을 중심으로)

  • Due to the recent mid- to long-term slump and falling growth rates in the global economy, interest in organizational structures that create new products or services as a new alternative to survive and develop in an opaque environment both internally and externally, and enhance organizational sustainability through changes in production methods and business innovation is increasing day by day. In this atmosphere, we agree that the growth of small and medium-sized venture companies has a significant impact on the national economy, and various efforts are being made to enhance the technological innovation capabilities of the members so that these small and medium-sized venture companies can enhance and sustain their performance. The purpose of this study is also to investigate how the technological innovation capabilities of small and medium-sized venture companies correlate with the performance of knowledge management and to analyze the role of network capabilities to organize the strategic activities of enterprise to obtain the resources and organizational capabilities to be used for value creation from external networks. In other words, research was conducted on the impact of technological innovation capabilities of small and medium venture companies on knowledge management performance by using network capabilities as parameters. Therefore, in this study, we would like to verify the hypothesis that innovation capabilities will have a positive impact on knowledge management performance by using network capabilities of small and medium venture companies. Economic activities based on technological innovation capabilities should respond quickly to new changes in an environment where uncertainty has increased, and lead to macro-economic growth and development as well as overcoming long-term economic downturns so that they can become the nation's new growth engine as well as sustainable growth and survival of the organization. In addition, this study was conducted by setting the most important knowledge management performance within the organization as a dependent variable. As a result, R&D and learning capabilities among technological innovation capabilities have no impact on financial performance. In contrast, it was shown that corporate innovation activities have a positive impact on both financial and non-financial performance. The fact that non-financial factors such as quality and productivity improvement are identified in the management of small and medium-sized venture companies utilizing their technological innovation capabilities is contrary to a number of studies by those corporate innovation activities affect financial performance during prior research. The reason for this result is that research companies have been out of start-up companies for more than seven years, but sales are less than 10 billion won, and unlike start-up companies, R&D and learning capabilities have more positive effects on intangible non-financial performance than financial performance. Corporate innovation activities have been shown to have a positive (+) impact on both financial and non-financial performance, while R&D and learning capabilities have a positive (+) impact on financial performance by parameters of network capability. Corporate innovation activities have been shown to have no impact on both financial and non-financial performance, and R&D and learning capabilities have no impact on non-financial performance. It could be seen that the parameter effects of network competency are limited to when R&D and learning competencies are derived from quantitative financial performance. Case Study on Success and Innovation Activities of Women Entrepreneurs: Focusing on Startups (여성 창업가의 성공과 혁신활동에 대한 사례 연구 : 스타트업을 중심으로)

  • For the national economic development, the participation of women in the social and economic activities is crucial. The popularization of start-ups, digital transformation, and WEconomy trends have lowered the barriers to opportunities for women to start a business and provide an environment in which women can grow faster. This paper examines the significance and process of success of women entrepreneurs and the characteristics of innovation strategies and achievements by linking the recently changing business environment of a company, factors influencing the success of women entrepreneurship, and innovation activities. To this end, four companies' cases were analyzed in the fields of distribution/service and consumer products/services, which are areas of large investment among female startups. The result shows that women entrepreneurs recognize the meaning of success as creating and continuing to create a 'corporate value through establishing a trust relationship with customers' within the 'balance between personal life and work.' In terms of the business ecosystem, women entrepreneurs strive for 'business activities based on the win-win growth of consumers, producers and sellers' for success, and rather 'focus on the process with a problem-solving approach' rather than achieving performance-oriented goals. Also through excellent power of observation, flexibility, and execution power, women entrepreneurs conduct business by adapting to changing trends. In terms of innovation activities, the innovation strategy of women-led companies puts priority on 'creating the value customers want' and focuses on innovation in the 'customer-centric business model' rather than technological innovation. As such, women-led companies show several differentiated characteristics, which enable them to create corporate value and achieve sustainable growth. The barriers to challenges and opportunities for women to start a business have been lowered, and an ecosystem has been created for female startups to grow. But why are there still so few women entrepreneurs, and the answer to where we need to close these gaps is ultimately a close analysis and investigation of the field. We must present milestones for growth steps through the accumulation of case studies of women startups that have exited. In addition, women can stand as economic agents only when the policy targets are subdivided and specific approaches to child-rearing and childcare for women entrepreneurs must be taken. This paper expects to serve as basic data for follow-up studies and become the basis of research for women entrepreneurs to grow as economic agents.
