A Study on Development of Digital Compilation Management System for Local Culture Contents: Focusing on the Case of The Encyclopedia of Korean Local Culture (향토문화 콘텐츠를 위한 디지털 편찬 관리시스템 개발에 관한 연구: "한국향토문화전자대전"의 사례를 중심으로)

  • Local culture is a cultural heritage that has come down from generation to generation in the natural environment of a region. It includes history, tradition, natural features, art, and historic relics. The Academy of Korean Studies has complied "The Encyclopedia of Korean Local Culture" using those local culture contents. Local culture content shave the features of documentary, such as authenticating the source, and managing hierarchy structure. Thus, to deal with local culture contents, a "circular knowledge information management system" is sought for that helps basic, fragmentary, and high-level information to circulate to create new knowledge information within the system. A user of this circular knowledge information management system is able not only to collect data directly in it, but also to fetch data from other database. Besides, processing the collected data helps to create new knowledge information. But, it's very difficult to sustain the features of the original hierarchy bearing meaning contained in the various kinds of local culture contents when building a new database. Moreover, this kind of work needs many times of correction over a long period of time. Therefore, a system in which compilation, correction, and service can be done simultaneously is needed. Therefore, in this study, focusing on the case of "The Encyclopedia of Korean Local Culture", I propose a XML-based digital compilation management system that can express hierarchy information and sustain the semantic features of the local culture contents containing lots of ancient documents, and introduce the expanded functions developed to manage contents in the system.

It contains a local history, culture geography and who is who HCI wants computer to help a human life. Then what is useful information for human and human culture? Maybe a knowing of own local culture makes one more happy. because it will help to understand oneself This article will show how this encyclopedia manages the cultural resources of local.

The Analysis of the Investigation the Actual Conditions on the Management of Native Local Data of Cultural Center (문화원의 향토자료 관리 실태분석)

  • Although the native local data is being deemed important in the age where historical records are regarded as important, currently it is hard to find out detailed actual state of local data, because it is now being collected and managed by many institutions and individuals. This study is aimed at surveying the current state of management of native local data possessed by local cultural center, one of institutions that produce and manage local data, and suggesting a desired alternative idea of cultural center for management of native local data, through the problems found by the research. As the result, the current state of data management of the local cultural center are as follows: First, local data management in the local cultural center as the problem in poor surroundings and a financial question get local data-related education make systematic data collection and management unavailable. Second, local data depends on the extent of its awareness of it. each and every cultural center shows a significant deviation in the extent of execution of local data-related project. Third, even though the publication business of the cultural center is being lively executed, it attaches importance to the history of local authority rather than to the residents' life, and it should not be supplemented in applying it to education and production of cultural contents.

  • This study aims to present a direction for local libraries on how to collect folk culture content and provide services in cooperation with public libraries across the country, with a focus on public libraries, in implementing the government policy to collect, classify, store, research, and utilize folk culture content. Results of the study drawn from literature review, surveys, case-studies are as follows: First, based on the advantage of higher accessibility than other institutions in charge of folk culture content provision, libraries should take a role to collect, store, and utilize folk culture content for public purpose of improving knowledge and interests of residents and storing local history. Second, folk culture content collection, enhanced content-creating, and user-oriented services reflecting various demands should be expanded, seeking ways to improve management conditions of folk culture content based on collaboration network between libraries, along with drawing interests and support from the local government and the central government. Thirdly, libraries should provide expanded services of collection, creation, use of folk culture content with a focus on local culture through regular and systematic study and building of folk culture content.

  • 본 연구에서는 소비자의 지식 수준에 따른 향토음식 스토리텔링에 의한 행동의도를 알아보고자 하였다. 지금까지 우리나라 각 지역의 전통적인 식문화를 담고 있는 향토음식과 관련된 스토리텔링 연구를 살펴보면 대부분의 연구가 음식 스토리텔링의 필요성 제기, 음식 스토리의 소재 발굴, 미식 관광을 위한 스토리텔링의 중요성에 대한 연구에 머무르고 있다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 향토음식 스토리텔링이 소비자의 행동의도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 향토음식과 관련된 지식에 기초하여 스토리텔링의 속성과 향토음식의 구매지역을 조절변수로 두었다. 최종적으로 지식의 정도가 낮으며, 구매지역이 일치하지 않는 경우 소비자들이 가장 선호하는 스토리텔링의 속성을 제시하고자 한다. 따라서 각 지역을 대표하는 향토음식의 스토리텔링을 발굴 또는 창작할 경우 향토음식의 문화적 가치를 향상시킬 수 있는 스토리텔링 개발 방법을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study on the Characteristics and Values of Unregistered Private Households in Cholla Province, Chungcheong Province, Gyeongsang Province (향토문화유산 중 충청지역 민가정원의 역사정원으로서의 가치와 보존 방향)

  • This paper attempted to examine the value of private house garden as a historical garden among local cultural heritages remaining in Chungcheong-do Province. To this end, the following conclusions were drawn through the framework of value analysis in which the contents of Ji Cheng's Yuanye of China, Tachibana Toshitsuna's Sakuteiki in Japan, and HISTORIC GARDENS THE FLORENCE CHARTER 1981 were applied to target sites. First, local cultural heritage belong to unregistered cultural heritage, and a total of 616 local cultural heritages in Chungcheong-do Province were identified, and Cheongju City possesses the largest number of local cultural heritages. Most of the local cultural heritages are distributed in ancient capital or adjacent to it, and five of the local heritages are related to historical garden. Second, the target sites were old houses constructed during the Joseon Dynasty with a long history, and although there were few changes in spatial division, the scale of some gardens and outer yard spaces was reduced due to urban planning, etc. Third, the target site is Sangjihapui(相地合宜) and Inchacheui(因借體宜) in location and space division, so the space is divided according to the surrounding terrain and the landscape is naturally drawn to construct a garden. Fourth, the garden of the target site has a structural value of a garden that is Jeongihapui(精而合宜) and Gyoideukche(巧而得體) as it is subtle and naturally constructed with the garden by grasping the surrounding terrain. Fifth, for the continuous preservation of historical garden, it is necessary to strengthen the already enacted local cultural heritage ordinance, and to establish a documentary project for each spatial component and a plan for climate change.

  • In this study, the real state of local foods was examined targeting Gyeongju citizens to help in developing distinguishing foods and to promote cultural to excellence of local foods widely. Ultimately, this study aims to promote cultural excellence of Gyeongju's local foods widely by examining the kinds of local foods in Gyeonggju area. In addition, current study was conducted to provide basic data of local foods which inherit and develop our precious assets, in order to keep up with the Korean Wave as well as globalization. For this study, a survey was performed with the 274 sample of local food consumers, and analyzed the data using descriptive, cross tabulation analysis, and t-test. Results shown that Janchi guksu(banquet noodles) and Jeonbok juk(abalone rice porridge) obtained the highest awareness and preference when awareness and preference of Gyeongju local foods were analyzed depending on the marital status. Significant implication in the study is that there is a need to develop and promote local foods and open local food restaurants for local residents. More discussion and limitations are suggested.
