  • 'Fleeting fragrance: the history, preservation and display of perfumed clothes' Fragrance - like style - is one of the intangible aspects of costume history that we often wish had been preserved. Garments were perfumed both to impart a pleasurable impression and to mask disagreeable odors from use or from production processes such as tanning and dyeing. Expensive gloves were traditionally perfumed, as well as lace collars, silk stockings and shawls. Both historical and modern attempts have been made to create scents that please the wearer and attract the oppoiste sex, while (preferable) also repelling osquitoes and moths! Unintentional perfuming also occurred, which we sometimes may be lucky to find in our museum collections. How do we describe and identify the transient odors of museum objects, and at what cost can they be preserved and presented for the public? This lecture includes samples of reconstructed historical scents presented in costume exhibitions at the Royal Danish Collections.

Double Meaning Inherent in the Film : focused on the Movie "Perfume" (영화 속에 내재된 이중적 의미 : 영화 "향수"를 중심으로)

  • Double meaning inherent in the film is interpreted in the same context as it's called ambiguity in the literature. Ambiguity means that one word or one sentence can be interpreted in two or more meanings. In the movie, one behavior of a character, a prop or a costume with two or more meanings faces the audience. A famous French direct Francois Ozon said "The director has always made movie contrary to his/her latest movie." This means that the film should seek to reform and it's his philosophy about the movie. Actually, it's the film's basis that a movie breaks the taboo. The film has always challenged taboos and led the progressivism. Taboos of western films are more intense than our country's moral and ethical level. Their taboos are to deny the sacred and legitimacy of Christianity. Particularly, as many people talk about the film to deny the divinity of Jesus Christ, it's sufficient to elicit an argument pro and con. This study is to choose the movie "Perfume"of director Tom Tykwer as a text, examine the highly elaborate and strategical double meaning in the movie and analyze the western taboos to deceive the audience skillfully.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of tour motivation on satisfaction and revisit intention of Tourists in Jeonju Hanok Village. 450 questionnaires were distributed to tourists in Jeonju Hanok Village and the final 426 copies were used for empirical analysis. The survey was conducted from July 1, 2018 to July 20, 2018, and the convenience extraction method was used. The results of this study are as follows. First, tourists' motivation of tourism was factored by uniqueness, history, education, artistry, and nostalgia. Second, uniqueness and artistic factors have a positive effect on the dependent variables, satisfaction and revisit intention. Third, the satisfaction of tourists had a positive effect on revisit intention. It is necessary to make efforts to combine uniqueness and artistry in all aspects of Hanok Village such as tourism, architecture, environment, sanitation, transportation, food, and lodging. Also, Jeonju Hanok Village should have marketing efforts to attract a large number of tourists.

A Study on the Characteristics and the Buying Behaviors of Kidult Fashion Purchasers - Kidult Fashion Emotion and Socio-Psychological Variables - (키덜트 패션구매자의 특성과 구매행동 -키덜트 패션감성과 사회심리적 특성을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the dimensions of kidult fashion emotion and identify the influence of socio-psychological characteristics(nostalgic orientation, change inclination, and self-esteem) on kidult fashion emotion. 'Kidult', composite of kid and adult is indicating a group of people who feel nostalgic for and feel attachment to the products that they have been used in their childhood. A questionnaire was prepared in the survey and a total of 474 women in their twenties and thirties who had purchased the kidult fashion products were selected. The research findings are as follows: 1. Kidult fashion emotion can be classified as 5 factors: pursuits of fashion emotion, seeking girlish image emotion, preference for character emotion, seeking fun emotion, and past oriented emotion. 2. Socio-psychological variable that affected kidult fashion emotion is turned out change inclination. 3. The higher the seeking girlish image and pursuit of fashion emotion tendencies, the more they purchase the kidult fashion products. Based on these results, kidult fashion emotions are not the attachment to the past but positive expression of self and individuality.

Kitsch Features Expressed in Contemporary Fashion Accessories (현대 패션 액세서리에 나타난 키치(Kitsch) 특성)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop various designs through renewing and changing perception of accessories by examining various and arbitrary Kitsch. For the method of this study, literature review was mainly used for research of formative characteristics in Kitsch fashion. 798 pieces of work from fashion magazines and website with a focus on Milan, Paris, London and New York collections, in the decade of 2000-2010 were collected. The results of this study are as follows. First, the characteristic of exaggeration is classified into two types: the visual exaggeration, which is characterized by psychological expression through excessive images and (2) the collecting exaggeration, which is not simple but a want of large quantities. Second, the characteristic of satire is classified into two types: (1) the imitation-satire, which satirizes messages to societies with creative humor by using easily consumed materials and (2) the resistance-satire, which is destructive and offensive against isolation and desolation of a capitalistic society. Third, the characteristic of amusement is classified into two types: (1) the playful-amusement, which raises a laugh slyly by using clever materials and (2) the childish-amusement, which involves childish imagination and humor-sense because of desire to be a child. Fourth, the characteristic of nostalgia is classified into two types: (1) the romantic character expressing a departure from modern society, which is desolate because of the urbanization process, and (2) the intermediate character recreating an esthetic category by interacting with different and relative elements. Fifth, the characteristic of inappropriateness is expressed through a deliberate mistake, and it denies existing senses of beauty by overturning common sense and creating new senses of beauty, expressions in distortion and modification of stereotype.

조경수의 병해충-산딸나무에 피해를 주는 해충

  • 가을이면 막대사탕처럼 현재 40~50대 중.장년층의 어린 시절을 영상하게 하는 열매는 진분홍색으로 달콤한 맛과 함께 향수를 자극한다. 또한 6월에 십자 모양의 백색으로 피는 꽃은 예수님이 이 나무에서 운명하였다하여 성스러운 나무로 취급되어 기독교인들의 사랑을 받고 있는 나무이기도 하다. 또한 나무의 수관, 열매, 꽃 모든 것들이 아담하면서 화사하고, 청초하기 때문에 현대인들의 조경수, 정원수, 가로수로 매우 사랑받고 있는 나무이다. 늦가을 겨울을 재촉하는 바람 소리에 새벽잠을 설쳐도 우리의 마음을 한결 부드럽게 어루만져 주는 산딸나무는 화원의 대장 노릇을 하고도 남음이 있을 것 같다. 또한 각종 약용, 식용으로 사용되어 버릴 것 하나 없는 우리에게 즐거움만 주는 나무이다. 하지만 이러한 나무에 해충이 피해를 주니 이들의 종류 및 생태 그리고 방제에 대하여 소개하고자 한다.

The Effect of Expanded Servicescape on Relationship Quality and Chinese Consumer's Repurchasing Intentions (확장된 서비스스케이프가 관계품질 및 재구매의도에 미치는 영향 -중국 소비자를 대상으로-)

  • The satisfaction of customers, who are in a servicescape, will be subject to many environment stimulations. In particularly, in the hospitality industry such as restaurants service experience for customer is very important. Thus, not only the stylistic elements but also the social and socially symbolic elements. So this paper expands Bitner's servicescape framework by conceptualizing the existence of a expanded servicescape. The expanded servicescape has three important dimensions, which is the physical, the social and the socially symbolic. Structural modeling largely supports the hypothesized framework and the results about the relationship between expanded servicescape factors, relationship quality(satisfaction, trust, commitment) and repurchase are summarized as follows. And this study utilizes a questionnaire survey to gather data regarding consumers' perceptions by using expanded servicescape. First, the analysis proved that except comfort the physical dimensions which including comfort, convenience, aesthetics caused a positive impact on customer satisfaction. Second, social dimensions which including appearance, etiquette and professionalism caused a positive impact on customer trust. Third, except community symbolic dimensions which including nostalgia, connection to culture caused a positive impact on customer commitment. Forth, it proved that expected relationship quality(customer satisfaction, trust, commitment) caused a positive impact on repurchase behavior.

New Method for Preference Measurement in Ranking-based Conjoint Analysis (순위기반 컨조인트분석에서 선호도측정을 위한 새로운 방법)

  • Ranking-based conjoint analysis is widely used in various fields such as marketing research. While the ranking-based conjoint affords several advantages over the rating-based or choice-based conjoint, it has a serious shortcoming that respondents have much difficulty in ranking the product profiles in order of preference when many profiles are involved. This article suggests a new method for the preference measurement to improve the response efficiency. The method employs the concept of ranking sets that let the respondent evaluate a small number of profiles at a time. Through the proposed method, preference rankings of profiles obtained from each ranking set are aggregated to generate overall rankings. The balanced incomplete block design is expanded and transformed to the dual design in order to construct well-balanced ranking sets that can accommodate a large number of profiles. The proposed method is applied to the analysis of consumer preferences for perfume-for-women.

Anisotropy in Coefficient of Consolidation of Clay (점토의 압밀계수에 대한 이방성)

  • In order to investigate the anisotropy in the coefficient of consolidation of the clay deposit, a series of consolidation tests were carried out on the artificially deposited clay sample by both Rowe-type and conventional consolidometers. The results of the tests showed that the coefficient of consolidation for radially inward drainage by Rowe-type consolidometer was about two times larger than that for vertical drainage by the conventional consolidometer. The smear effect caused by vertical sand drain installation was found to be significant, especially in the overconsolidated region, but smaller with the increase in consolidation pressure.
