Nowadays it is tendency to make a remodelling or demolition of old structures with the rapid development of blasting technique. In this treatise it is arranged of improvement procedure of blasting demolition method in korea which was begun since August 1991. Recently, the blasting demolition method has much merits with 60-70% reduction effect of construction period than mechanical demolition method. and so that it has much economical points specially over than 5 storied high buildings. In order to maximalize economical effects of the blasting demolition method, environment safety and recycling, it must be needed. at first to develop the estimating programs against vibration, noise, flying stones, and dust. Also it is required to take a responsibility for using recycling materials after blasting demolition of old structures, and to be invested to advance the blasting demolition techniques.

The number of demolition work is rapidly increasing because the middle- and high-rised buildings constructed over the rapid industrialization and urbanization have been deteriorated in social and structural aspects. However, theoretical approaches or studies related to the demolition cost prediction are still insufficient. Thus, this study derived and analyzed important factors affecting the fluctuation of the building demolition costs. 14 factors was derived through literature reviews and experts' interview, and the importance of each factor was analyzed to the each work(temporary work, structure demolition, and waste disposal) and the entire demolition work by using descriptive analysis. The survey results showed that the demolition costs was greatly influenced by environmental properties of the site. The results of this study can be used as a basis for estimating the approximate cost of the demolition work.
Recently, the number of industrial structures that must be demolished due to structural deterioration and unsatisfactory functional conditions has been increased. To minimize environmental hazardous factors created during the process of demolition, the explosive demolition method has been applied increasingly. This execution case was intended to describe an application of the explosive demolition method to the demolition of a Crusher & Screen structure, which was a large-section reinforced concrete special structure. It was deemed necessary due to its structural deterioration and unsatisfactory functional condition. Various pre-weakening processes and blasting patterns were applied to the large-section reinforced concrete members, and to reduce blasting vibration and impact vibration, time intervals were established for blasting in the same column and for blasting between blasting blocks. By applying the explosive demolition method to the demolition of a large-section reinforced concrete special structure, the explosive demolition was completed safely and efficiently, without causing any damage to surrounding facilities.

After the expiration of operating license of a plant, all infrastructures within the plant must be safely dismantled to the point that it no longer requires measures for radiation protection. Despite the fact that Kori 1 and Wolsong 1 are close to the expiration of their operating license, sufficient technologies for radiological characterization, decontamination and dismantling is still under development. The purpose of this study is to develop one of methods for radiological inventory assessment on measuring object by using direct measure of large component with In-Situ measurement technique. Radiological inventory was assessed by analyzing nuclide using portable gamma spectroscopy without dismantling reactor head, and the result of direct measurement was supplemented by performing indirect measurement. Radiochemical analysis were performed on surface contamination samples as well. During the study, radiological inventory of reactor vessel calculated expanding the result. Based on the result and the radioactivity variation of each radionuclides time frame for decommissioning can be decided. Thus, it is expected that during the decommissioning of plants, the result of this study will contribute to the reduction of radiation exposure to workers.
A satisfactory ending of the project is crucial for the students to achieve success experience. In this study, we analyze the teams' dismantling before the project deadline. We propose a team dissolution model based on the assumption that the disharmony caused by the members' personality traits is the main reason for the team break up. The Dark Triad and the Communion are introduced to build the model. We simulated the proposed model using an agent-based simulation and analyzed the results. We found that the ratio of owning DT impacts the maximum allowable size of the team and the team's rate of dissolution, but the team has been able to reduce the team's dissolution rate by increasing the team's harmony. We expect that we efficiently used the developed model with the agent-based simulation for the studies related to the dismantling of teams.

The current status and prospect of decommissioning technology development at KAERI are reviewed here. Specifically, this review focuses on four key technologies: decontamination, remote dismantling, decommissioning waste treatments, and site remediation. The decontamination technologies described are component decontamination and system decontamination. A cutting method and a remote handling method together with a decommissioning simulation are described as remote dismantling technologies. Although there are various types of radioactive waste generated by decommissioning activities, this review focuses on the major types of waste, such as metal waste, concrete waste, and soil waste together with certain special types, such as high-level and high-salt liquid waste, organic mixed waste, and uranium complex waste, which are known to be difficult to treat. Finally, in a site remediation technology review, a measurement and safety evaluation related to site reuse and a site remediation technique are described.

Now, in a domestic country, the rebuilding and redevelopment of existing houses has been rapidly increasing with an economic growth and the improvement of living condition. As a result of that, a lot of C&D waste has been also produced. Nevertheless, it is not easy to find the research results for appropriate treatment and management of C&D waste in domestic. Therefore this study suggests the optimum deconstruction management system for minimizing construction waste and increasing reuse or recycle rate of material different from traditional demolition. The system makes it possible to plan and manage in advance quantity of C&D waste, demolition methods of each structural elements and application methods of produced C&D waste through an integrated and computerized system. The purpose of the system is ultimately to contribute to minimizing environmental damages and reducing construction waste quantity of a country. This system is largely composed of four modules such as planning of preliminary demolition survey, estimating of demolition quantity, planning of demolition schedule and planning of construction waste management and each module can be also used individually according to the purpose of a user.

The rising number of accidents during building demolition work has significantly heightened interest in this field. This study undertakes a comprehensive analysis of the essential capabilities required for building demolition experts, drawing on both domestic and international examples. This includes an examination of training courses for building demolition inspectors and the competencies mandated for structural demolition roles as per Korea's National Competency Standards(NCS). Furthermore, the study reviews the qualification tests and training programs for building demolition professionals in the United States, Japan, and England. The research concludes that the expertise needed for demolition construction professionals should be categorized into seven key domains: legal, structural, safety, planning, operational, constructional, and environmental aspects. These competencies are further divided across three professional tiers: technician, engineer, and manager.

This paper is to study on the decommissioning cost estimation for nuclear facilities of advanced nuclear organizations and countries for deriving the cost factors to be taken considerations into accomplishing decommissioning projects. Of cost categories producing the factors of decommissioning costs, dismantling and waste processing & disposals activities are examined to increase the its costs. Of labor, materials and other costs categories, labor costs are summarized to have overall majorities in the decommissioning cost factors. The main parameters of all factors affecting the decommissioning costs are analyzed as work difficulty, regional labor costs, peripheral cost, disposal cost and final burial costs.
It has been known that deconstruction has affected various fields as literature, architecture, an, film, industrial design, and so on. Especially, deconstruction has applied into a wide scope of the design related fields through diverse ways and the results also show that there is a great potentiality in the ways of it's expression with different styles. Deconstruction design has been approached in connection with post-modernism, deconstruction theory of J. Derrida and pluralistic post industrial society. In particular, it is obvious that deconstruction philosophy has deeply affected the fields of visual design and typography which are mostly communicated with symbols and texts. This study intends to examine how the deconstruction theory has been practically applied into the typography by analyzing the change of deconstruction typographic styles and exploring the distinctiveness of the change.
