  • This research was a technical case study for the authentic restoration of the seven-storied Simgoksa stone pagoda after disassembly and reconstruction using three-dimensional image analysis. During disassembly and reconstruction, the pagoda's properties were analyzed in terms of the overall modification and displacement of the pagoda. Distortion was minimized by ensuring structural stability during the reconstruction process. Also, the original site of the pagoda was examined in order to utilize it fully during rebuilding. Before reconstruction of the pagoda, moss and lichen on the stone surfaces were removed by scientific surface cleaning. The foundation of the pagoda was reinforced with rammed earth than was similar to the original foundation using a mixture of soil and quicklime. The results are expected to provide valuable data for the reconstruction of other stone pagodas.

  • The object of this paper is to evaluate on constructability of modular steel frame with the hollow structural steel section to LEB C-shape. A modular building is built with factory-manufacture and site-construction. The advantage of a Modular building presents that enhanced building quality, shortened construction period and easy at an expansion and enlargement for buildings but also has demerits such as size restriction of the modular units according to the Road Traffic Law and Inflexibility of the unit composition. So in this study we use light-weighted structure members with bolted joint for easy Knock-down and traffic, also we evaluated the constructability of this bolted joints type modular buildings.

  • Recently mechanization construction methods are developed rapidly in the field of construction processing. The construction industry is one of the sector that still requires a lot of manual labor of the entire industry. There are still various kinds of work done by human labors, especially in the disassembling and separation of materials for recycling. However, database of relevant statistics including estimating standards are difficult to analyze by actual human workload, and furthermore the disassembling processes are being analyzed by qualitative assessment. This study attempted to introduce the accelerometer for the quantitative evaluation of human workload in the construction field. Still, it is possible to calculate the amount of energy which is required for the assembling and disassembling of nail and screw through three-dimensional accelerometer.

  • 3D VR modeling data can be used for powerful expression in construction, because it gives help to navigate a construction in 3D space easily. But the current status of VR technique visualizes only an external shape of a construction. A construction has not only its external shape data but also its constructive information. The constructive information is very important and can be expressed as the process of construction and deconstruction. Thus we research on recording and replay interface to manipulate 3D structured objects for the process of construction and deconstruction.
