지역연구는 해외지역연구(foreign area studies)의 준말로, 연구자의 문화와는 다른 문화권 혹은 국가를 대상으로 하는 학제적인 연구이다. 지역은 시대와 정의자에 따라 변화할 수 있는 인지개념으로 세계지역, 문화지역, 국가단위지역 등으로 구분될 수 있다. 지역연구는 1920년대에 미국에서 시작되었으며 제2차 세계대전을 계기로 본격적으로 발전하였다. 전쟁 전에는 유럽지역이 지역연구의 주요 대상지역이었으며 전후 냉전시기에는 제3세계가, 그리고 현재는 전세계의 모든 지역이 연구지역으로서 주요한 가치를 지닌다. 지역연구는 정책지향적이고 학제적인 연구이며 현장연구를 중요시하는 특성을 지닌다. 지역연구자가 되기 위해서는 전공분야의 학위와 현지언어 능력, 광범위한 지역 지식, 현장 경험 등을 갖춰야 한다. 그러나 분과학문과 지역에 대한 관심의 균형 문제가 분과보편주의와 지역특수주의 간의 갈등으로 나타나 지역연구의 목적이 희석되기도 하였다. 지리학은 몇가지 이유로 인해 지난 몇 십년간 지역연구에 대해 비교적 관심을 덜 가졌다. 그러나 지리학자는 공간 상호작용의 분석과 자연환경에의 접근 등을 통하여 지역연구의 발전에 기여할 수 있으며 지역연구의 큰 목적 중의 하나인 지역성 구명의 문제에서 중요한 역할을 할 수 있다.

This paper analyzes the determinants of foreign entry pattern of Korean restaurant industry. Based on the result of previous literature that cultural characteristics is important for the competitiveness of restaurant industry, this paper is purposed to analyze the effect of Korean emigrants on the foreign entry of Korean restaurant industry. Gravity model is used to develop empirical models. The results shows that the size of Korean emigrants has a positive effects on the foreign entry. Which supports the previous literature on the relationship between migrants and international trade that migrants plays as channel for information between countries.

세계 물 시장은 지속적으로 성장하고 있는 추세로 현대경제연구원에서는 연 평균 5.5%씩 성장할 것이라고 예측한 바 있다. 또한 국내 수자원 개발은 거의 포화 상태에 도달하여 수자원 기업들이 해외 수자원 산업진출을 다각적으로 추진하고 있으므로 해외 수자원 사업에 대한 관심이 더욱 커질 전망이다. 해외 수자원 산업에서 국내 기업이 어려움을 겪는 부분 중 하나는 타당성 조사로 개발도상국에서 좋은 품질의 기상 및 수문 관측 자료를 확보하는 것이 어렵기 때문이다. 국내 기업들이 진출한 주요 해외 시장은 아시아와 아프리카이며, 진출 사례가 많은 아시아 지역에는 비교적 기상 및 수문자료 확보가 용이하나, 아프리카 지역은 자료의 확보가 어려운 상황이다. 특히 아프리카 지역은 수자원 현황이 열악하고 개발가능성이 높아 향후 국내 기업의 진출이 활발할 것으로 예측되는 지역으로 수자원 산업 진출을 위한 기상 및 수문자료 확보를 위한 노력이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 해외 수자원 산업 진출의 기초자료 확보를 위해 아프리카 지역의 기상, 지형, 토양자료를 수집하고 수문자료 생산을 위한 지표수문해석 모델의 적용성을 평가하였다. 지표수문해석 모델로는 국내외에서 전지구 규모 수문해석에 활용성이 높다고 알려진 VIC (Variable Infiltiration Capacity)를 활용하였으며, 물수지 모의를 수행하였다. 기상, 지형, 토양자료는 미국 CPC (Climate Prediction Center), UMD(University of Maryland), FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization)의 전 지구 자료를 활용하였다. 아프리카 주요 유역에 대한 VIC 모델 적용성 평가결과 유출해석의 정확도가 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 아프리카 대륙 규모의 기상, 지형, 토양자료를 확보하고 수문자료 생산 체계를 구축하였으며, 연구결과가 향후 국내 수자원 기업의 해외진출 및 전 지구 규모 수문연구의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 가치가 있다.

This study's target is adolescents from overseas-employed families. Adolescents from overseas-employed families experience psychological and emotional problems because of long term separation from their parents. This study examined the moderating effect of self-identity between depression, anxiety, and school adaptation of adolescents from overseas-employed families in Yanbian, China. The data was collected through a survey of 285 middle school students and 167 valid questionnaires which marked as overseas-employed family, SPSS 24.0, regression analysis was performed. The results were as follows: depression and anxiety had a significant effect on the school adaptation of adolescence from overseas-employed families in Yanbian, China. Furthermore, depression, anxiety, and self-identity had significant interactions with school adaptation. In the conclusion, the researchers suggest various practical strategies based on results of the study to improve the self-identity and school adaptation of Chinese-Korean adolescents in China.

문화지도는 문화와 관련된 다양한 양상들을 점, 선, 기호 등으로 표현하여 지도에 나타낸 것이며, 전자문화지도는 이 지도를 효율성과 편리성을 위하여 컴퓨터를 이용하여 디지털 파일이나 데이터베이스화 시킨 것이다. 이러한 문화지도를 활용하면 해외지역 연구 결과를 시각적으로 표현할 수 있어서, 연구 결과를 보다 이해하기 쉽게 되고 새로운 연구에 대한 기초 자료로 활용이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 해외지역 문화, 특히 지중해지역을 위한 전자문화 지도의 접목에 대하여 연구한다. 세부적으로 문화양식, 문화유산, 문화생활과 같은 다양한 문화 양상을 식별하기 위한 문화 분류, 문화지도 구성을 제시한다.

This research develops a theoretical model of the influence of firm's internal and external characteristics on foreign knowledge learning and international performance. To verify research hypotheses, 222 cases were collected as samples and the data was tested by structural equation modeling analysis. The result of the analysis shows that the CEO's foreign experience, entrepreneurship, technological innovation and use of foreign network have positive influence on the international performance. Besides CEO's foreign experience and use of foreign network affects the foreign knowledge learning, which shows the useful relationship of international performance and accordingly it is proved that the foreign knowledge learning has mediating effect between the firm's internal and external characteristics and international performance.

최근 카자흐스탄이 러시아나 서구제국들이 아닌 중국과의 에너지 외교에 큰 진전을 보이고 있듯이, 중국은 미국이나 러시아를 자극하지 않은 채로 중앙아시아제국들과의 경제협력을 확대하고 이를 통한 성공적인 에너지안보체제를 구축하고자 한다. 그러나 역사적으로 일정지역에 중국인들의 진출이 늘어나거나 중국인들의 경제적 영향력이 제고되면, 중국정부의 대상지역에 대한 영향력도 제고되었다는 사실로 미루어, 중국의 해외투자 또는 해외이주와 연관된 중국정부의 연계전략에 대한 주의가 요구된다. 중국정부는 해외투자 또는 해외이주지원이라는 명목으로 제주도의 해군기지 주변 강정마을에 대한 부동산 구매를 시도하고 있으며, 그 밖의 한국 내 미군기지 주변에도 중국인타운을 형성하는데 보이지 않는 정부차원의 지원을 확대하고 있다. 이와 같은 현상은 일본 내 미군기지, 특히 오키나와 미군기지 주변과 사스마섬의 일본 자위대 기지 주변에서도 동일하게 전개되고 있다. 이런 중국정부의 의도는 한국과 일본에 주둔하고 있는 미군기지에 대한 견제장치인 동시에 해당지역 주민들에 대한 중국의 영향력 제고를 목적적 결과물로 노정하고 있는 것이다. 중국자본과 중국인들의 한국과 일본 현지진출은 경제적 이해를 넘어서는 외교적, 군사적 문제까지도 야기할 수 있고 이로 인한 국가간 갈등요인이 제고될 수 있는 만큼, 중국의 해외투자 연계전략에 대한 보다 철저한 관리 감독이 필요하다.

This study analyzed diversification and diversification indices by region and construction type of overseas construction in major global countries using the Berry-Herfindahl Index. The analysis found that advanced European countries account for most of the countries with a high overseas share of global design and construction companies, and a high degree of diversification by engineering and by region. Korea is pushing for diversification through the specialization of construction enterprises by type of construction, and design enterprises are concentrated in some areas and specializations by type of construction and region. In the future, Korea's global construction companies need to strengthen their overseas competitiveness by diversifying their overseas business areas and their industrial sectors in the way that advanced countries have.

최근에 디지털융합에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되면서 디지털융합의 한 분야인 전자문화지도는 연구자들의 학문연구방법으로도 활용되고 있다. 전자문화지도는 특정지역의 문화를 나타내기 위해 지도를 인터페이스로 활용하여 점, 선, 면 등 다양한 방법으로 지도위에 정보화된 데이터를 나타낸다. 본 논문에서는 지도의 특성을 효율적으로 활용할 수 있도록 특정지역연구를 위한 연구방법으로 활용할 수 있는 지식지도시스템을 설계한다. 세부적으로 해외지역 가운데 지중해지역을 중심으로 시스템을 설계하며 지중해지역과 관련된 연구결과물에 대한 요약정보를 주제, 지역, 시간값의 매핑을 통해 제공한다. 본 시스템은 학문동향에 관한 정보를 효율적으로 제공함으로써 인문 지역학 연구자들의 연구방법으로 활용하고자 한다.

This thesis aims to explore the geographic synthesis of ecotour programmes in New Zealand as a foreign area study. In addition, this research will provide effective regional policies for ecotourism in Korea. To achieve the objectives, this research carried out a literature review before taking several field surveys in New Zealand. Research areas are Waitomo Caves, Kauri community, Wildlifes of Otago Peninsular, Whakarewarewa Maori Village, Milford Track in New Zealand. New Zealand ecotour programmes are generally organized by local residents. The programmes include entrance limitations, strict opening time schedules, well trained information officers and guides organized by local residents. Most of all activities are in relation to the programmes that have been developed for educational effects and environmental conservation. The case studies of New Zealand present a good model of how to succeed in ecotourism and conservation management to Korea.
