Understanding the seasonal status of fisheries resource in the East China Sea by using bottom trawl (저층트롤을 이용한 동중국해 해역의 계절별 수산자원 현황)

  • This study was investigated in order to find composition and density of fisheries resource using bottom trawl in April, July, August, and November 2022 in the East China Sea. The average density of fisheries resource was estimated using the swept area method. As a result, 35 species were collected from the East China Sea. These included 21 fishes, six crustaceans, six cephalopods and two echinoderms. Seasonally, the average density of crustacean individuals per unit area were highest in November (692.1 inds./km2), while cephalopod individuals per unit area were highest in August (39.4 inds./km2). The average density of fish individuals per unit area were highest in August at 355.0 (inds./km2).

Biomass estimation of fish in Samcheok marine ranching area (MRA) of Korea using the scientific echosounder (과학어군탐지기를 이용한 삼척 바다목장 해역의 어류 자원량 추정)

  • In this study, we aimed to determine the seasonal distribution and biomass of fish in Samcheok marine ranching area (MRA) of Republic of Korea using the scientific echosounder. Fish trap and gillnets were used to identify fish species in the survey area, and dB-difference method was used to estimation the spatio-temporal distribution and density of fish. The results showed that the dominant species in Samcheok marine ranching area were Chelidonichthys spinosus, Sebastes inermis, Hexagrammos otakii and Tribolodon hakonensis. The spatio-temporal distribution of fish showed that fish had a relatively higher distribution at night than during the day. In addition, the density of fish by season was highest at night in July at 34.22 g/m2 and lowest in April at 0.42 g/m2.

Effects of improvement of fishing operating system on a coastal improved stow net fishing vessel on the work safety and workload of seafarers (연안개량안강망어선의 조업 시스템 개선이 선원들의 작업 안전과 작업부하에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper is the result of a comparative analysis of crew members' workloads using the EMG and OWAS methods according to the fishing process before and after the improvement of the operating system of the experimental vessel, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and safety work of coastal improved stow net fishing vessels. The target crew members were three people with at least five years of experience on board the same fishing vessel as the experimental vessel. After improving the operating system, such as installing a power block crane and two capstans, change the location of the ball-roller, the time required for setting and hauling work decreased (p < .01), and the evaluation results by OWAS showed that the overall workload for setting and hauling net work decreased. The results of muscle activity analysis showed a decrease in lashing anchor work (p < .01) in the case of hauling net and in anchor dropping work in the case of setting net (p < .001). It is judged that the use of ball rollers in net handling has been reduced; consequently, work safety has been improved.

Analysis of risk factors for safety accidents for fisher onboard aquaculture fisheries management vessel (양식어업 어장관리선에 승선하는 어선원의 안전사고 위험요인 분석)

  • This study aimed to quantitatively analyze the risk using data from 329 safety accidents that occurred in aquaculture fisheries management vessels over the recent five years (2018-2022). For quantitative risk analysis, the Bayesian network proposed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) was used to analyze the risk level according to the fishing process and cause of safety accidents. Among the work processes, the fishing process was analyzed to have the highest risk, being 12.5 times that of the navigation, 2.7 times that of the maintenance, and 8.8 times that of the loading and unloading. Among the causes of accidents, the hull and working environment showed the highest risk, being 1.7 times that of fishing gear and equipment, 4.7 times that of machinery and equipment, and 9.4 times that of external environment. By quantitatively analyzing the safety accident risks for 64 combinations of these four work processes and four accident causes, this study provided fundamental data to reduce safety accidents occurring in aquaculture fisheries management vessels.

Risk factors and fisher positioning task during coastal gillnet fishing boat operation using UWB based positioning system (UWB 기반 측위시스템을 이용한 연안자망어선 어선원의 작업위치와 위험요소)

  • We analyzed risk factors of coastal gillnet fishers during fishing process and considered work safety measures to reduce safety accidents during fishing using a UWB (ultra wideband) based positioning system. The static position accuracy of the UWB based positioning system was 45 cm. When entering a port, there is a risk of falling overboard. When casting a net, there was a risk of falling overboard due to being hit by fishing gear or guards, or getting caught in a buoy line or sinker line. When hauling a net, there is a risk of getting caught between fishing gear and net hauler, and the risk of musculoskeletal disorders due to repetitive work over a long period of time. Most safety accidents during work on fishing boats are blamed on human errors of the fisher and skipper, but safety accidents occur due to a mixture of mechanical and equipment factors, work and environmental factors, and management factors in addition to human errors. Therefore, the 4E were presented as countermeasures against the 4M, which are causes of safety accidents, and the proposed measures were used to identify risk factors for operation process, comply with work safety rules, and ensure the wearing of personal protective equipments. We need to reduce safety accidents during work by making it part of our daily routine. These research results can be used in the future for optimal placement of fishing gear and fishing nets in other coastal industries where safety accidents occur frequently.

선박 충돌사고 예방을 위한 소형 어선의 해양사고 분석을 통한 자동화 방법 기초 연구

  • 본 연구의 목적은 소형 어선에서 항해사로 인해 발생하는 인적오류에 의해서 야기될 수 있는 선박 충돌사고를 예방하여 항행안전을 도모함에 있다. 이를 위해 2005년부터 2020년까지 총 16년의 해양사고재결서를 수집하여 주제어, 사고 관련 법규, 사고위치, 사고일시 등 사고 관련 내용을 분류하였다. 분류한 내용을 기반으로 원인판단 주제어와 사고 요인들과의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 그 결과 경계소흘은 충돌 원인의 대부분을 차지하였고, 경계소홀의 원인은 무리한 조업으로 인한 피로 누적과 졸음이 상당수를 차지하였다. 이는 소형 어선의 선박 충돌사고를 예방하기 위해서는 경계소흘에 대한 대응방안이 필요하다는 것이고, 기술 개발에 따른 자동화 등의 방법을 통해 소형 선박 충돌사고 예방 연구가 적용되어야 한다. 추후에는 소형 어선의 작업 특성을 분석하겠으며, 실제 충돌사고 예방에 기여할 수 있는 연구를 수행할 예정이다.

  • In order to have market competitiveness in local and global areas, Domestic Marine Leisure Industry business, which is a latecomer in the Marine Leisure industry, should retain a strong market adaptability by reducing time and cost that are required for work of planning, designing, and preparation for product development. To meet above requirements, it is essential that integrated system control extensive marine leisure industry. After ensuring integrated information by figuring out the systematic link between related-industries, the core of this research is to secure information classifications that are not just in the flow of simple serial order, but in that of integration and object-oriented information classifications. For this end, we examine other similar cases in industries using real information system applied to industrial production and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Data Management (PDM), Digital Manufacturing (DM) and applying the same methodology to review practical application in order to construct the information system, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), compared with the case studies. Through this basic task for the marine leisure industry classification system configuration (Work Breakdown Structure, WBS) and utilizing information of driving real companies of marine leisure industry, a unique area of MLWBS (Marine Leisure Work Breakdown Structure, MLWBS) is configured. This Marine Leisure Work Breakdown Structure can be used in various areas of applications like products, design information, engineering, production, purchasing, sales, marketing, AS, utilizing various forms of customer support.

  • 해양 플랜트분야는 다양한 제품의 생산을 위해 여러종류의 CAD 모델, 도면, 기술 자료를 주고 받으면서 생산을 위한 정보를 생성하게 된다. 이를 위해 컴퓨터내에서 쉽고 빠르게 제품을 모델링할 수 있는 기술, 이 기종 CAD간의 데이터 변화기술이 필요하며 엔지니어링 전문회사, Owner, Maker 용역회사, 플랜트 주설계팀간의 제품정보 교환을 위하 PDM 기술이 요구된다. 또한, 해양플랜트 생산과 관련된 제품정보를 체계적으로 관리하기 위해서 테이터베이스를 기반으로 하는 PDM(Plant Data Management) 기능을 적용하여 업무 Process 별로 변화하는 제품정보들의 체계적 분류기법을 제시하고 동시공학(Concurrent Engineering)환경을 설명하고자 한다.

A Study of Global Ocean Data Assimilation using VAF (VAF 변분법을 이용한 전구 해양자료 동화 연구)

  • ARCO and TAO data which supply three dimensional global ocean information are assimilated to the background field from a general circulation model, MOM3. Using a variational Analysis using Filter (VAF), which is a spatial variational filter designed to reduce computational time and space efficiently and economically, observed ARGO and TAO data are assimilated to the OGCM-generated background sea temperature for the generation of initial condition of the model. For the assessment of the assimilation impact, a comparative experiment has been done by integrating the model from different intial conditions: one from ARGO-, TAO-data assimilated initial condition and the other from background state without assimilation. The assimilated analysis field not only depicts major oceanic features more realistically but also reduces several systematic model bias that appear in every current OGCMs experiments. From the 10-month of model integrations with and without assimilated initial conditions, it is found that the major assimilated characteristics in sea temperature appeared in the initial field remain persistently throughout the integration. Such implies that the assimilated characteristics of the reduced sea temperature bias is to last in the integration without rapid restoration to the non-assimilated OGCM integration state by dispersing mass field in the form of internal gravity waves. From our analysis, it is concluded that the data assimilation method adapted in this study to MOM3 is reasonable and applicable with dynamical consistency. The success in generating initial condition with ARGO and TAO data assimilation has significant implication upon the prediction of the long-term climate and weather using ocean-atmosphere coupled model.
