수중운동체의 강제동요시험 및 포텐셜 계산에 의한 부가질량 추정 (Added Mass of Submerged Bodies Obtained by Forced Oscillation Tests and Numerical Calculations of Potential Flow)

  • It is necessary to estimate manoeuvring characteristics of submerged bodies at the design stage in order to ensure the safe operations. In this study, added mass coefficients in the mathematical model of submerged bodies are estimated by captive model tests and numerical calculations. Two kinds of models, MARIN 'BB2'submarine model and AUV (Autonomous unmanned vehicle) model are utilized in the forced oscillation tests. Compared to BB2 submarine, AUV with cylindrical type hull form shows relatively small added masses in roll, pitch, and yaw directions. Next, numerical calculations based on potential theory are performed under the assumption that viscous effects on inertia forces are negligible. Added masses obtained by numerical calculations are in good agreements with forced oscillation test results. And if slow manoeuvres of submerged bodies are presumed, some of velocity coupled terms can be approximated by combinations of added mass coefficients.

  • In this paper, the results of Planar Motion Mechanism (PMM) test for a 1/15 scaled model of the MARIN Joubert BB2 submarine is dealt with to derive the maneuvering coefficients for surface condition. For the depth of surface navigation, the top of the sail was exposed 0.46 m above the water surface in the model scale, and it corresponds to 6.9 m in the full scale. The resistance and self-propulsion tests were conducted, and the model's self-propulsion point was obtained for 1.328 m/s, which corresponded to 10 knots in the full scale. The maneuvering tests were performed at the model's self-propulsion point, and the maneuvering coefficients were obtained. Based on the maneuvering coefficients, a turning simulation was performed for starboard 30 degree of stern fins. The straight-line stability and control effectiveness in the horizontal plane were analyzed using the maneuvering coefficients and compared with the appropriate range. For the analysis of the neutral fin angle of the X-type stern fin, the stern fin test with drift angles was carried out. As a result, the flow straightening effect at lower and upper parts of the stern fin was discussed.

  • 20세기 중반부터 바다의 신비를 벗기는 혁신적인 연구가 계속되고 있다. 동태평양과 흥해의 해저에서 뜨겁고 높은 염분의 해수가 솟아오르고 있으며 미국 오레곤주 깊은 수심의 태평양 해저에서는 1천미터 높이의 대형 물기둥이 발견되어 해양학자들은 크게 고무되고 있다. 이같은 세계적 규모의 해양연구는 앞으로 21세기 초반에 더욱 강화될 것이다.

해상풍력 지지구조물 형식 및 시공 방법에 따른 서남해 해상풍력실증단지의 균등화발전비용 비교 (Comparison of LCOE of the Southwest Offshore Wind Farm According to Types and Construction Methods of Supporting Structures)

  • 본 논문에서는 해상풍력발전단지의 경제성을 파악하고자 발전단가 측면에서 해상풍력 지지구조물 형식 및 시공 방법에 따른 균등화발전비용(levelized cost of energy, LCOE)의 차이를 분석하고 LCOE의 주요 구성 요소에 따른 민감도 분석을 실시하였다. 연구대상 현장으로 국내 서남해 해상풍력실증단지를 선정하였으며, 설치 기수에 따른 공사비를 분석하였다. LCOE 민감도 분석 결과 설비이용률, 터빈 관련 비용, 가중평균자본비용 그리고 BOS(balance of system) 관련 비용의 순서로 LCOE에 대한 민감도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 국내 해상풍력 지지구조물로 주로 적용되었던 포스트파일링(post-piling) 재킷 공법을 기본안으로 선정하여 공사비를 산출한 후, 시공 방법을 프리파일링(pre-piling)으로 변경한 재킷 공법과 트라이포드(tripod) 공법의 초기투자비용을 비교하였다. 그에 따른 LCOE를 분석한 결과, 프리파일링 재킷 공법의 경우 고가의 템플릿이 필요하지만, 강재 소모량이 적고, 설치규모가 대형화할수록 시공 기간이 단축되어 전체 공사비 및 LCOE가 낮아지며 경제성이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다.

  • 수중음향통신에서 다중경로로 인한 인접 심볼 간 간섭은 통신 성능을 저하시킨다. 인접 심볼 간 간섭의 영향을 최소화하여 수중음향통신 성능을 향상시키기 위해 다이버시티 기법을 사용한다. 본 논문에서는 공간 다이버시티와 시간 다이버시티의 결합을 통해 수중음향통신 성능이 개선됨을 보인다. 시공간 다이버시티를 통해 제한적인 배열에서 수중통신 시스템의 효율성을 증대시켰다. 또한 2018년 10월 한국의 동쪽 해역에서 수행한 BLAC18(Biomimetic Long range Acoustic Communication 18) 실험 데이터와 비교하여 이를 검증하였다.

황해 갑각 중형동물플랑크톤의 형태 분석과 DNA 메타바코딩 비교 (Comparison of Morphological Analysis and DNA Metabarcoding of Crustacean Mesozooplankton in the Yellow Sea)

  • Studies on marine zooplankton diversity and ecology are important for understanding marine ecosystem, as well as environmental conservation and fisheries management. DNA metabarcoding is known as a useful tool to reveal and understand diversity among animals, but a comparative evaluation with classical microscopy is still required in order to properly use it for marine zooplankton research. This study compared crustacean mesozooplankton taxa revealed by morphological analysis and metabarcoding of the cytochrome oxidase I (COI). A total of 17 crustacean species were identified by morphological analysis, and 18 species by metabarcoding. Copepods made up the highest proportion of taxa, accounting for more than 50% of the total number of species delineated by both methods. Cladocerans were not found by morphological analysis, whereas amphipods and mysids were not detected by metabarcoding. Unlike morphological analysis, metabarcoding was able to identify decapods down to the species level. There were some discrepancies in copepod species, which could be due to a lack of genetic database, or biases during DNA extraction, amplification, pooling and bioinformatics. Morphological analysis will be useful for ecological studies as it can classify and quantify the life history stages of marine zooplankton that metabarcoding cannot detect. Metabarcoding can be a powerful tool for determining marine zooplankton diversity, if its methods or database are further supplemented.

해상 환경을 고려한 수상함 항적 모델 연구 (A Study on the Ship Wake Model under the Ocean Environment)

  • The ship wake generated by rotation of the propeller yields changes of characteristics of sound wave such as attenuation and scattering. To develope a battle field environment simulator for military purposes, it is very important to understand acoustical properties of ship wake. Existing research results have limitations in direct application because they performed under simple conditions or model ships were applied. In this study, we developed a ship wake generation model based on the ship's geometric wake distribution theory. The model can provide spatial distribution and void fraction with various marine environments as well as ship size. Through the developed model, geometric distribution features of ship wake according to the ship's maneuvering conditions were successfully simulated. In addition, changes of the bubble void fraction with time at any location within the battle field environment were identified. Therefore, the developed model is expected to be used in the development of a simulator to measure the acoustic characteristics of the ship wake.

전파환경에 따른 안테나패턴 측정(APM) 결과가 고주파 해양레이더의 자료 품질에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Antenna Pattern Measurement According to Radio Wave Environment on Data Quality of HF Ocean Radar)

  • High-frequency (HF) radar measures sea surface currents from the radio waves transmitted and received by antenna on land. Since the data quality of HF radar measurements sensitively depend on the radio wave environment around antenna, Antenna Pattern Measurements (APM) plays an important role in evaluating the accuracy of measured surface currents. In this study, APM was performed by selecting the times when the background noise level around antenna was high and low, and radial data were generated by applying the ideal pattern and measured pattern. The measured antenna pattern for each case was verified with the current velocity data collected by drifters. The radial velocity to which the ideal pattern was applied was not affected by the background noise level around antenna. However, the radial velocity obtained with APM in the period of high background noise was significantly lower in quality than the radial velocity in a low noise environment. It is recomended that APM be carried out in consideration of the radio wave environment around antenna, and that the applied result be compared and verified with the current velocity measurements by drifters. If it is difficult to re-measure APM, we suggest using radial velocity in generating total vector with the ideal pattern through comparative verification, rather than poorly measured patterns, for better data quality.
