  • 본 논문에서는 Whirlpool 해시 코어가 Cortex-M0의 슬레이브로 인터페이스된 보안 SoC 프로토타입 구현에 대해 기술한다. ISO/IEC에서 표준으로 채택된 경량 해시 알고리듬인 Whirlpool 해시 함수를 64-비트의 데이터 패스로 구현하였으며, 키 확장 연산과 암호화 연산을 수행하는 하드웨어를 공유하여 면적이 최소화되도록 설계하였다. 설계된 보안 SoC 프로토타입을 Cyclone-V FPGA에 구현한 후, ULINK2 어댑터와 Cortex 내부 디버거를 통해 Whirlpool 해시 코어에서 연산된 해시값을 확인함으로써 SoC 프로토타입의 동작을 확인했다.

  • Hash function is a cryptographic primitive which conduct authentication, signature and data integrity. Recently, Wang et al. found collision of standard hash function such as MD5, SHA-1. For that reason, National Security Research Institute in Korea suggests a secure structure and efficient hash function, LSH. LSH consists of three steps, initialization, compression, finalization and computes hash value using addition in modulo $2^W$, bit-wise substitution, word-wise substitution and bit-wise XOR. These operation is parallelizable because each step is independently conducted at the same time. In this paper, we analyse LSH structure and implement it over SIMD-SSE, AVX and demonstrate the superiority of LSH.

  • Digital signature algorithms such as RSA and ECDSA are threatened by the development of quantum computer technology, which is attracting attention as a future technology. Alternatively, various post-quantum algorithms such as grid-based, multivariate-based, code-based, and hash-based are being studied. Among them, the hash-based is a fast and quantitative security level that can be calculated and its safety has been proven. So it is receiving a lot of attention. In this paper, we examine various hash-based digital signature algorithms that have been proposed so far, and analyze their features and their strengths and weaknesses. In addition, we emphasize the importance of reducing the size of the signature in order for the hash-based signature algorithm to be practically used.

  • 양자컴퓨터는 큐비트(qubit)의 얽힘(entanglement)과 중첩(superposition) 성질을 통해 동시에 연산을 수행할 수 있어 고전컴퓨터에 비해 연산 속도가 획기적으로 빠르다. 전수조사 연산을 매우 빠르게 수행할 수 있는 양자 알고리즘인 Grover 알고리즘을 사용하면, n-bit 보안강도를 가지는 SHA2와 같은 해시함수를 n/2-bit 보안강도로 낮추게 되어 해시함수가 적용되는 분야의 보안을 위협하게 된다. 양자컴퓨터를 통한 해킹에는 많은 양자 자원이 요구되고, 안정적인 구동 환경이 갖춰져야 하기 때문에 실현되기 위해서는 아직까지 상당한 시간이 소요될 것으로 보인다. 이에 연구자들은 필요한 양자 자원을 최소화하는 효율적인 양자 공격 회로를 제시하며 연구를 수행하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 SHA2 해시함수에 대한 양자 회로 구현 동향에 대해 살펴본다.

  • As the smart era, the use of smart devices is increasing. Smart devices are widely used to provide a human convenience, but there is a risk that information is exposed. The smart devices to prevent this problem includes the encryption algorithm. Among them, The hash function is an encryption algorithm that is used essentially to carry out the algorithm, such as data integrity, authentication, signature. As the issue raised in the collision resistance of SHA-1 has recently been causing a safety problem, and SHA-1 hash function based on the current standard of SHA-2 would also be a problem in the near future safety. Accordingly, NIST selected KECCAK algorithm as SHA-3, it has become necessary to implement this in various environments for this algorithm. In this paper, implementation of KECCAK algorithm. And SHA-2 On The ARM-11 processor, and compare performance.

  • Recently RFID system is used in various fields such as distribution industry, medical industry and military service. The technology for protecting individual privacy is necessary to adapt RFID system in several applications. This paper proposes an authentication protocol which conducts mutual authentication between back-end database and tag using hash function. The proposed protocol satisfies various RFID security requirements : mutual authentication, anonymity, confidentiality, integrity, replay attack, location trace. This protocol reduces the time for authentication minimizing the number of hash operation in back-end database.

  • IoT 기술의 발전 및 확산으로 다양한 도메인에서 서로 다른 특성의 시계열 데이터가 수집되고 있다. 이에 따라 단일 목적으로 수집된 시계열 데이터만 아니라, 다른 목적으로 수집된 시계열 데이터들 또한 통합하여 분석활용하려는 수요 또한 높아지고 있다. 본 논문은 파편화된 시계열 데이터들을 선택하여 통합한 후 딥러닝 모델을 생성하고 활용할 수 있는 해시함수 기반 학습 모델 관리 플랫폼을 설계하고 구현하였다. 특정되지 않은 데이터들을 기반하여 모델을 학습하고 활용할 경우 생성 모델이 개별적으로 어떤 데이터로 어떻게 생성되었는지 기술되어야 향후 활용에 용이하다. 특히 시계열 데이터의 경우 학습 데이터의 시간 정보에 의존적일 수밖에 없으므로 해당 정보의 관리도 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 해시 함수를 이용해서 생성된 모델을 계층적으로 저장하여 원하는 모델을 쉽게 검색하고 활용할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • A hash function is an essential cryptographic algorithm primitive that is used to provide integrity to many applications such as message authentication codes and digital signatures. In this paper, we introduce a concept and test method for a Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program (CAVP). Also, we design an SHA-3 CAVP program and implement an SHA-3 algorithm in 16bit-UICC. Finally, we compare the efficiency of SHA-3 with SHA-2 and evaluate the exellence of the SHA-3 algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose an audio fingerprinting using robust hash based on the MCLT (Modulated Complex Lapped Transform) peak-pair. In existing methods, the robust audio fingerprinting is not generated if various distortions occurred; time-scaling, pith-shifting and equalization. To solve this problem, we used the spectrum of the MCLT, an adaptive thresholding method for detection of prominent peaks and the novel hash function in the audio fingerprinting. Experimental results show that the proposed method is highly robust in various distorted environments and achieves better identification rates compared to other methods.

  • The whirlpool hash function adopted as an ISO / IEC standard 10118-3 by the international standardization organization is an algorithm that provides message integrity based on an SPN (Substitution Permutation Network) structure similar to AES block cipher. In this paper, we describe the hardware implementation of the Whirlpool hash function. The round block is designed with a 64-bit data path and encryption is performed over 10 rounds. To minimize area, key expansion and encryption algorithms use the same hardware. The Whirlpool hash function was modeled using Verilog HDL, and simulation was performed with ModelSim to verify normal operation.
