A Study to Enhance Competitive Advantage on Sea & Air Intermodal Transport System of Incheon (인천지역 해공복합운송시스템(Sea & Air)의 경쟁우위 확보방안)

  • Demand for Sea & Air intermodal transport has increased between north-China costal cities and Incheon since China's international airline network was not established completely. It will be big opportunity for Incheon to be logistics hub of Sea & Air intermodal transport in the north-east Asia, musing large sea-air cargoes to be transferred at the port of Incheon. Therefore, this study aims to propose competitive strategy on Sea & Air intermodal transport system of Incheon. In this analysis results, this paper shows that sea & air cargoes rather from china to U.S. than from China to Europe is very significant, considering geographically for Incheon and is also devote to not only providing high quality services but also activating RFS(Road Feeder Service) system, enlarging toward Shanghai, Weihai, and Yantai.

  • As the development of Northeast Asian logistics hub becomes one of the national agenda for further development, the sea&Air transport around the Yellow Sea regions has drawn attention of many scholars and government officials. The Sea&air transport is a mode of transportation combining the advantage of high-speed in air transport with the advantage of low-price in sea transport. Hence the sea&air aims at a niche market between air and sea. This paper reviews the possibility of development of the sea&air transport in the aspects of competitiveness over other modes, future demand condition, and the change of the technology and transport environment. The result is that the sea&air is competitive in the aspect of time as well as cost, and sustainable in the aspect of future demand condition. But, it is not stable in the aspect of the conditions of technology or transport demand. Especially, the progress of air transport technology which is aiming at the door-to-door transport among mid- and small- cities, and the rapidly increasing strategic alliances of international airlines with Chinese airlines for the market of China will undermine the stability of the sea&air transport seriously As alternatives, this paper proposes the 3-stage development strategy of sea&air transport. First, at the stage of transshipement, the development of high speed vessels to reduce the time crossing the Yellow Sea and the proactive marketing strategy to induce Chinese-owned products should be emphasized. Second, the value added logistics activity which will secure the demand of the sea&air transport should be developed. Third, demand creation by developing the SCM hub in Incheon is final goal for the logistics hub strategy as well as the sea&air transport.

Origin/Destination and Portfolio Analysis of Sea&Air Intermodal Transportation (해공(Sea&Air)복합운송의 유통경로 및 포트폴리오 분석)

  • The demand of international intermodal transportation is continuously increasing in accordance with a changing environment on international logistics, Under this circumstance, the Sea&Air intermodal transportation, combined by sea-based and air-based transport, has a potential growth in the future. After analyzing routes for Origin/Destination and implementing portfolio analysis, finally, this research aims to propose alternatives to create additional customers(or cargoes) for the Sea&Air transport. As a result of the analyses, China appeared to be a major customer of the Sea&Air transport in Korea because some of the Chinese areas - i.e. Qingdao, Shanghai, Weihai and Yantai - account for 88.1% of the total throughput. In general, this indicates that it would be more efficient to establish specific strategies targeting those major areas. Excluding the four areas, most of the other area, have much less demands and are relatively unstable. The demands, growth rates and market shares especially in Vladivostok, Dandong and Tianjinxingang are on the decrease, and therefore, stable strategies seems to be appropriate than aggressive strategies for these areas.

  • 얼굴 인식 성능을 저해하는 환경으로 인한 축구 비디오에서의 낮은 선수 인식률과 제한된 해공간의 문제점을 해결하는 차원에서 본 논문에서는 다음과 같은 특징을 갖는 얼굴 인식 기반의 축구선수 인식 방법론을 제안한다: 1) 조명 변화에 민감하지 않은 얼굴 표현 방법인 ULBP를 사용하여 얼굴 인식 성능을 향상시킨다; 2) 얼굴 인식 성능을 저해하는 다양한 환경에서도 이미 강인한 성능이 검증된 SRC를 선수 식별 과정에 적용함으로써 안정적이고 높은 선수 식별 성능을 보장한다; 3) 클로즈업 샷뿐만 아니라 미디엄 샷의 정면, 준정면, 측면 얼굴 이미지를 대상으로 선수 식별의 해공간을 확장한다; 4) SRC의 점증적 갱신 학습 능력으로 축구 선수 얼굴 데이터베이스의 변화에도 능동적으로 적응한다. 실제 2010년 남아프리카 공화국 월드컵의 스페인 경기를 대상으로 제안된 방법론의 성능을 실험적으로 검증한다.

An IGA Interface based on NK-landscape for Direct Manipulation (직접조작을 위한 NK-landscape기반 IGA 인터페이스)

  • 본 논문에서는 직접조작 방법을 이용하여 대화형 유전자 알고리즘(IGA)의 진화성능을 향상시키고 세대를 반복하면서 다양한 해를 얻을 수 있음을 NK-Landscape를 이용해 분석한다. 또한 NK모델을 이용하여 직접조작의 진화과정을 분석하기 위한 IGA 인터페이스를 생성한다. IGA를 이용한 진화는 특성상 적온 수의 개체와 세대수로 제한되기 때문에 지역해에 빠질 수 있는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 IGA 의 제약사창을 극복하는 방법으로 직접조작을 이용할 수 있으며 이 방법은 사용자가 원하는 개체를 생성할 수 있도록 진화과정에서 유전자를 직접 변경한다. IGA 에서 진화성능의 향상과 다양한 해외 생성을 분석하기 위하여 진화연산자인 교차, 돌연변이와 직접조작 방법의 성능을 비교 분석한다. Kauffman이 제안한 NK-Landscape로 진화과정에서 해공간이 얼마나 "ruggedness" 한지와 다양한 진화연산자에서 어떤 성능을 갖는지 분석할 수 있다 실험을 통해 3D 꽃 디자인 문제에서 NK-landscape기반 IGA인터페이스를 이용하여 IGA 해공간을 분석하고 교차, 돌연변이와 직접조작 방법의 성능을 비교함으로써 직접조작 방법으로 더 빠른 시간에 다양한 최적해를 찾을 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • As the globalisation of corporate's managemental environment, all parts of logistics such as procurement, production and sales are globalized. The ways of transportation in Korea and Japan, where are difficult to use land-transportation, are sea-transportation and air-transportation. Sea & air is a way of the international transportation which is combined by Sea and Air to reduce the transportation fee and shorten the delivery time. The main body of multimodal transportation service is the corporate, actual carrier who undertakes the actual transport. It is essential to establish service quality to maintain their going concern. In other words, the actual carrier has to emphasize the importance of service quality to forwarder tan any other business conditions. In this study, we examine the determinants of service quality for actual carrier in multimodal transportation. Through the multi-regression analysis based on SERVPERF by Cronin and Taylor (1992), we analyze the service quality dimensions of actual carrier. Also we examine the relations between the determinants and customer's satisfaction. Using statistical hypothesis testing, the determinants of service quality are reliability, responsiveness, assurance, tangibles, and we could look into the factors which the actual carrier should control with priority.

An Effective Evolvable Hardware Design using Module Evolution (모듈진화를 이용한 효율적인 진화 하드웨어 설계)

  • Recently Evolvable Hardware (EHW) is widely studied to design effective hardware circuits that can reconfigure themselves according to the environment. However, it is still difficult to apply for complicated circuits because the search space increases exponentially as the complexity of hardware increases. To remedy this problem, this paper proposes a method to evolve complex hardware with a modular approach. The comparative experiments of some digital circuits with the conventional evolutionary approach indicate that the proposed method yields from 50 times to 1,000 times faster evolution and more optimized hardware.

  • 진화 하드웨어(Evolvable Hardware: EHW)는 환경에 적응하여 스스로 하드웨어 구성을 변경할 수 있는 하드웨어로서 최근에 많은 관심과 함께 연구가 이뤄지고 있다. 하지만, 하드웨어의 복잡도가 증가할수록 진화를 위해 탐색해야 하는 해공간의 크기가 기하급수적으로 증가하기 때문에 아직까지 복잡한 하드웨어에 대해서는 좋은 활용방안을 찾지 못하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 이런 복잡한 하드웨어를 모듈별로 나눠서 진화시키는 방법을 제시하여 좀더 효율적인 진화의 가능성을 보인다. 기존에 주로 사용되던 회로 진화 디자인과 이를 모듈별로 나눠서 진화하는 방식을 실험을 통해 비교하고, 효과적으로 진화시간을 단축할 수 있음을 보인다.

  • This paper proposes a new design technique that can be used for BSB (brain-state-in-a-box) neural networks to realize autoassociative memories. The proposed method is based on the parametrization of solution space and optimization using genetic algorithm. The applicability of the established technique is demonstrated by means of a simulation example, which illustrates its strengths.
