  • In this paper, we propose a prediction system for skin pore labeling based on a CNN(Convolution Neural Network) model, where a data set is constructed by processing skin images taken by users, and a pore feature image is generated by the proposed image processing algorithm. The skin image data set was labeled for pore characteristics based on the visual classification criteria of skin beauty experts. The proposed image processing algorithm was applied to generate pore feature images from skin images and to train a CNN model that predicts pore feature ratings. The prediction results with pore features by the proposed CNN model is similar to experts visual classification results, where less learning time and higher prediction results were obtained than the results by the comparison model (Resnet-50). In this paper, we describe the proposed image processing algorithm and CNN model, the results of the prediction system and future research plans.

  • Colmap is one of the innovative artificial intelligence technologies, highly effective as a tool in 3D reconstruction tasks. Moreover, it excels at constructing intricate 3D models by utilizing images and corresponding metadata. Colmap generates 3D models by merging 2D images, camera position data, depth information, and so on. Through this, it achieves detailed and precise 3D reconstructions, inclusive of objects from the real world. Additionally, Colmap provides rapid processing by leveraging GPUs, allowing for efficient operation even within large data sets. In this paper, we have presented a method of collecting 2D images of traditional Korean towers and reconstructing them into 3D models using Colmap. This study applied this technology in the restoration process of traditional stone towers in South Korea. As a result, we confirmed the potential applicability of Colmap in the field of cultural heritage restoration.

  • Laboratory-scale hydraulic fracturing experiments were conducted on granite specimens at various viscosities and injection rates of the fracturing fluid. A series of cross-sectional computed tomography (CT) images of fractured specimens was obtained via a three-dimensional X-ray CT imaging method. Pixel-level fracture segmentation of the CT images was conducted using a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based Nested U-Net model structure. Compared with traditional image processing methods, the CNN-based model showed a better performance in the extraction of thin and complex fractures. These extracted fractures extracted were reconstructed in three dimensions and morphologically analyzed based on their fracture volume, aperture, tortuosity, and surface roughness. The fracture volume and aperture increased with the increase in viscosity of the fracturing fluid, while the tortuosity and roughness of the fracture surface decreased. The findings also confirmed the anisotropic tortuosity and roughness of the fracture surface. In this study, a CNN-based model was used to perform accurate fracture segmentation, and quantitative analysis of hydraulic stimulated fractures was conducted successfully.

  • Among cardiac diseases, arrhythmias can lead to serious complications such as stroke, heart attack, and heart failure if left untreated, so continuous and accurate ECG monitoring is crucial for clinical care. However, the accurate interpretation of electrocardiogram (ECG) data is entirely dependent on medical doctors, which requires additional time and cost. Therefore, this paper proposes an arrhythmia recognition module for the purpose of developing a medical platform through the analysis of abnormal pulse waveforms based on Lifelogs. The proposed method is to convert ECG data into image format instead of time series data, apply visual pattern recognition technology, and then detect arrhythmia using CNN model. In order to validate the arrhythmia classification of the CNN model by image type conversion of ECG data proposed in this paper, the MIT-BIH arrhythmia dataset was used, and the result showed an accuracy of 97%.

  • As the number of malicious code increases steeply, cyber attack victims targeting corporations, public institutions, financial institutions, hospitals are also increasing. Accordingly, academia and security industry are conducting various researches on malicious code detection. In recent years, there have been a lot of researches using machine learning techniques including deep learning. In the case of research using Convolutional Neural Network, ResNet, etc. for classification of malicious code, it can be confirmed that the performance improvement is higher than the existing classification method. However, one of the characteristics of the target attack is that it is custom malicious code that makes it operate only for a specific company, so it is not a form spreading widely to a large number of users. Since there are not many malicious codes of this kind, it is difficult to apply the previously studied machine learning or deep learning techniques. In this paper, we propose a method to classify malicious codes when the amount of samples is insufficient such as targeting type malicious code. As a result of the study, we confirmed that the accuracy of 97% can be achieved even with a small amount of data by applying the Memory Augmented Neural Networks model.

  • Along with the increased use of smart devices, the incidence of turtle neck syndrome among modern people has increased. Turtle neck syndrome is a posture in which the head is forward compared to the torso due to longer front muscles in the neck and shorter upper muscles, and it is more effective to fix the usual posture habits than surgery or medication. Thus, in this paper, a system is proposed to detect and warn posture that can cause turtle neck syndrome in real time. Image data of correct posture and turtle neck posture are collected to create a CNN-based learning model. Using only the webcam(Built-in camera), the sitting position that enters the camera is verified in real time through the learning model, and if it is a turtle neck position, it generates a warning sound and induces the correct posture. The system can induce people to correct their usual posture habits to treat turtle neck syndrome and prevent more serious diseases such as neck discs.

  • Bandwidth Extension refers to restoring and expanding a narrow band signal(NB) that is damaged or damaged in the encoding and decoding process due to the lack of channel capacity or the characteristics of the codec installed in the mobile communication device. It means converting to a wideband signal(WB). Bandwidth extension research mainly focuses on voice signals and converts high bands into frequency domains, such as SBR (Spectral Band Replication) and IGF (Intelligent Gap Filling), and restores disappeared or damaged high bands based on complex feature extraction processes. In this paper, we propose a model that outputs an bandwidth extended signal based on an autoencoder among deep learning models, using the residual connection of one-dimensional convolutional neural networks (CNN), the bandwidth is extended by inputting a time domain signal of a certain length without complicated pre-processing. In addition, it was confirmed that the damaged high band can be restored even by training on a dataset containing various types of sound sources including music that is not limited to the speech.

  • Tomato crops are easy to expose to disease and spread in a short period of time, so late measures against disease are directly related to production and sales, which can cause damage. Therefore, there is a need for a service that enables early prevention by simply and accurately diagnosing tomato diseases in the field. In this paper, we construct a system that applies a deep learning-based model in which ImageNet transition is learned in advance to classify and serve nine classes of tomatoes for disease and normal cases. We use the input of MobileNet, ResNet, with a deep learning-based CNN structure that builds a lighter neural network using a composite product for the image set of leaves classifying tomato disease and normal from the Plant Village dataset. Through the learning of two proposed models, it is possible to provide fast and convenient services using MobileNet with high accuracy and learning speed.

  • Although the global number of landmines is on a declining trend, the damages caused by previously buried landmines persist. In light of this, the present study contemplates solutions to issues and constraints that may arise due to the improvement of mine detection equipment and the reduction in the number of future soldiers. Current mine detectors lack data storage capabilities, posing limitations on data collection for research purposes. Additionally, practical data collection in real-world environments demands substantial time and manpower. Therefore, in this study, gprMax simulation was utilized to generate data. The lightweight CNN-based model, MobileNet, was trained and validated with real data, achieving a high identification rate of 97.35%. Consequently, the potential integration of technologies such as deep learning and simulation into geographical detection equipment is highlighted, offering a pathway to address potential future challenges. The study aims to somewhat alleviate these issues and anticipates contributing to the development of our military capabilities in becoming a future scientific and technological force.

  • Automatic classification of brain MRI images play an important role in early diagnosis of brain tumors. In this work, we present a deep learning-based brain tumor classification model in MRI images using ensemble of deep features. In our proposed framework, three different deep features from brain MR image are extracted using three different pre-trained models. After that, the extracted deep features are fed to the classification module. In the classification module, the three different deep features are first fed into the fully-connected layers individually to reduce the dimension of the features. After that, the output features from the fully-connected layers are concatenated and fed into the fully-connected layer to predict the final output. To evaluate our proposed model, we use openly accessible brain MRI dataset from web. Experimental results show that our proposed model outperforms other machine learning-based models.
