The purpose of this study was performed to quantitatively measure the thermal conductivity of poultry slaughter waste with variation of reaction temperature for optimal design of thermal hydrolysis reactor. We continuously quantified the thermal conductivity of dehydrated sludge related to the reaction temperature. As the reaction temperature increased, the dehydrated sludge is thermally liquefied under high temperature and pressure by the thermal hydrolysis reaction. Therefore, the bond water in the sludge cells comes out as free water, which changes the dehydrated sludge from a solid phase to slurry of a liquid phase. As a result, the thermal conductivity of the its sludge was more than 2.11 times lower than that of the water at $20^{\circ}C$. However, the thermal conductivity of the sludge approached to $0.677W/m{\cdot}^{\circ}C$ of water at $200^{\circ}C$, experimentally substantiating liquefaction of the dehydrated sludge. Therefore, we confirmed that the change in physical properties due to thermal hydrolysis appears to be an important factor for heat transfer efficiency. And the thermal conductivity function related to reaction temperature was derived to give the boundary condition for the optimal design of the thermal hydrolysis reactor. The consistency of the calculated function was 99.69%.

Kimchi, a Korean fermented vegetable is packaged without pasteurization and distributed with live bacteria actively working to produce lactic acid and carbon dioxide gas in the product. The $CO_2$ production consisting of two distinct phases of initial fast and later slow rates depends on kimchi type, salt content and storage temperature. The $CO_2$ produced from kimchi is accumulated in the product package causing volume expansion and pressure buildup. The dependence of $CO_2$ production rate on salt content and storage temperature has been published formerly and can be used for estimating the package volume and pressure under a variety of storage conditions. As methods to alleviate the problems from the produced $CO_2$, package designs with controlled diffusion pinhole, high $CO_2$ permeable film or $CO_2$ absorber have been tried by several researchers. Properly designed packages adopting the device or tool were shown to have high dissolved $CO_2$ in kimchi without volume expansion and pressure buildup, giving good sensory quality with carbonic taste. Advantages and limitations of each method have been discussed.

High resolution intertidal DEM is a basic material for science research like sedimentation/erosion by ocean current, and is invaluable in a monitoring of environmental changes and practical management of coastal wetland. Since the intertidal zone changes rapidly by the inflow of fluvial debris and tide condition, remote sensing is an effective tool for observing large areas in short time. Although radar interferometry is one of the well-known techniques for generating high resolution DEM, conventional repeat-pass interferometry has difficulty on acquiring enough coherence over tidal flat due to the limited exposure time and the rapid changes in surface condition. In order to overcome these constraints, we tested the feasibility of radar interferometry using Cosmo-SkyMed tandem-like one-day data and ERS-ENVISAT cross tandem data with very short revisit period compared to the conventional repeat pass data. Small temporal baseline combined with long perpendicular baseline allowed high coherence over most of the exposed tidal flat surface in both observations. However the interferometric phases acquired from Cosmo-SkyMed data suffer from atmospheric delay and changes in soil moisture contents. The ERS-ENVISAT pair, on the other hand, provides nice phase which agree well with the real topography, because the atmospheric effect in 30-minute gap is almost same to both images so that they are cancelled out in the interferometric process. Thus, the cross interferometry with very small temporal baseline and large perpendicular baseline is one of the most reliable solutions for the intertidal DEM construction which requires very accurate mapping of the elevation.

During tunnel construction, ground failures often occur due to existence of weak zones, such as faults, joints, and cavities, ahead of tunnel face. It is hard to detect effectively weak zones, which can lead underground structure to fail after excavation and before supporting, by using conventional characterization methods. In this study, an enhanced analytical method of predicting weak zones ahead of tunnel face is developed to overcome some problems in the conventional geophysical exploration methods. The analytical method is based on Coulomb's and Gauss' laws with considering the characteristics of electric fields subjected to rock mass. Using the developed method, closed form solutions are obtained to detect a spherical shaped zone and an oriented fault ahead of tunnel face respectively. The analytical results suggest that the presence of weak zones and their sizes, location, and states can be accurately predicted by combining a proper inversion process with resistance measured from several electrodes on the tunnel face. It appears that the skin depth or resistivity in rock mass is affected by the diameter of tunnel face, natural electric potential and noises induced by experimental measurement and spatial distribution of uncertain properties. The developed analytical solution is verified through experimental tests. About 1800 concrete blocks of 5cm by 5cm by 5cm in size are prepared and used to model a joint rock mass around tunnel face. Weak zones are simulated ahead of tunnel face with a material which has relatively higher conductivity than concrete blocks. Experimental results on the model test show a good agreement with analytical results.
An important issue in multiagent reinforcement learning is how an agent should team its optimal policy through trial-and-error interactions in a dynamic environment where there exist other agents able to influence its own performance. Most previous works for multiagent reinforcement teaming tend to apply single-agent reinforcement learning techniques without any extensions or are based upon some unrealistic assumptions even though they build and use explicit models of other agents. In this paper, basic concepts that constitute the common foundation of multiagent reinforcement learning techniques are first formulated, and then, based on these concepts, previous works are compared in terms of characteristics and limitations. After that, a policy model of the opponent agent and a new multiagent reinforcement learning method using this model are introduced. Unlike previous works, the proposed multiagent reinforcement learning method utilize a policy model instead of the Q function model of the opponent agent. Moreover, this learning method can improve learning efficiency by using a simpler one than other richer but time-consuming policy models such as Finite State Machines(FSM) and Markov chains. In this paper. the Cat and Mouse game is introduced as an adversarial multiagent environment. And effectiveness of the proposed multiagent reinforcement learning method is analyzed through experiments using this game as testbed.
1) The variation of the reef knot strength $T_r$ and the trawler knot strength $T_\varrho$ with the angle $\varphi$ between the adjacent bars are given by $$T_r=T_{ro}-k_{r\varphi}$$ and $$T_\varrho=T_{{\varrho}o}+k_{\varrho\varphi}$$ where $T_{ro}$ and $T_{{\varrho}o}$ are values of $T_r$ and $T_\varrho$ at $\varphi=0^{\circ}$ respectively, and $k_r$ and $k_\varrho$ constants decided by the fibre materials of netting twines ($\varphi\;is\;0^{\circ}$ when the knot is pulled lengthwise). 2) The variation of the reef knot strength $T_r'$ and the trawler knot strength $T_\varrho'$ with the angle $\varphi'$ between any one bar and the plane made by the other three bars may be expressed by $$T_r'=T_{ro}{'}\varrho^{-c\varphi'}$$ and $$T_\varrho'=T_{{\varrho}o}{'}\varrho^{-c\varphi'}$$ where $T_{ro}{'}$ and $T_{\varrho}o{'}$ are values of $T_r{'}$ and $T_\varrho{'}$ at $\varphi'=0^{\circ}\;{(\varphi=45^{\circ})}$ respectively, and o is the coefficient of attenuation. 3) Knot strength of knotted netting may be expressed by the expression derived in the preyious paper, disregarding its shape and the direction of tensile loads acting on it.
In order to find effective seed collection method from cultivated Porphyra, benthic diatom elimination, culturing conditions of Conchocelis, liberation of conchospores and treatment of the fronds to obtain monospores have been studied. Elimination of benthic diatoms from Porphyra fronds is successfully performed by careful brushing the fronds in sea water and freshwater alternatively. For the culturing of Conchocelis Schleiber's solution enriched with only soil extracts, vitamins and Fe-EDTA was satisfactory. Growth under 16 hours illumination is 1.29 times faster than those under 10 hours illumination. When the culturing water was airated the growth was $1.41\~l.50$ times faster than the growth in stagnant water. Total amount of conchospores liberated from Conchocelis which has been cultured under airation was much more than those of conchospores under stagnant condition. Effective liberation of monospores was observed in the fronds which have been dried in air for 6 hours $(21.23\~24.19\%\;water\;content)$.

The purpose of the thermal imaging observation device mounted on the K's tank in the Republic of Korea military is to convert infrared rays into visual information to provide information about the environment under conditions of restricted visibility. Among the various performance indicators of thermal observation devices, such as the view, magnification, resolution, MTF, NETD, and Minimum Resolvable Temperature Difference (MRTD), the MRTD is the most important, because it can indicate both the spatial frequency and temperature resolvable. However, the standard method of measuring the MRTD in NATO contains many subjective factors. As the measurement result can vary depending on subjective factors such as the human eye, metal condition and measurement conditions, the MRTD obtained is not stable. In this study, these qualitative MRTD measurement systems are converted into quantitative indicators based on a gray scale using imaging processing. By converting the average of the gray scale differences of the black and white images into the MRTD, the mean values can be used to determine whether the performance requirements required by the defense specification are met. The (mean) value can also be used to discriminate between detection, recognition and identification and the detectable distance of the thermal equipment can be analyzed under various environmental conditions, such as altostratus, heavy rain and fog.
Relation between soil salinity and forage yield of five upland crops such as sudan grass, sesbania, barnyard grass, corn and soybean was studied in the three reclaimed lands of Korea during two years from 2007 to 2008. Although plant number emerged was obtained satisfactory by desalting treatment, further growth of crops was sharply affected by re-salting process according to soil drying. Soil salinity varied place by place and changed constantly, crop growth was differently responded to soil salinity according to the specific conditions of the reclaimed lands. In the Iweon reclaimed land with higher soil water conductivity and sandy soil texture, crop growth and yield sharply decrease with increase of soil salinity. Relation between soil salinity and crop growth and yield was well expressed as logarithmic function. Surface soil EC to reach at 50% of growth reduction to the tallest height of crops was $5dS\;m^{-1}$ for soybean, $6dS\;m^{-1}$ for corn and $7dS\;m^{-1}$ for sudan grass, sesbania, and barnyard grass by logarithmic function. In the Hwaong and Yeongsangang reclaimed lands with low soil conductivity and finer soil texture, plant growth response to salt stress was statistically vague by mixing of harmful influence from flooding and wet injury. However, it is observed that crop growth and yield on the place of lower salinity was better than crop growth on the place of higher salinity. It is accordingly concluded that flooding control during summer rainy season is vary important as well as desalting process for good growth of soiling and forage crops in the newly reclaimed land from tidal flat.
In this study, we analyzed radiation dose and MTF with setting of Ion chamber and changing kVp so that we are able to suggest acquiring optimized diagnostic images and minimizing patient dose. we assumed right lateral decubitus position among chest decubitus projection and set 7 combination of Ion chamber. By changing kVp(100, 110, 120, 130kVp), we exposed x-ray five times respectively and calculated average value after measuring entrance dose. we input the entrance dose value to PCXMC Monte carlo simulation tool and calculated organ dose and effective dose. Then we did physical image evaluation with MTF for the purpose to compare image quality. As a result, the high kVp, entrance dose is reduced. As change of ion chamber, when selecting second ion chamber, both organ dose and effective dose were the lowest. In contrast, selecting first ion chamber was the highest. MTF is superior to set second Ion chamber and using 120 kVp. Consequently, when taking chest right lateral decubitus using Digital radiography, the optimized combination which have both reducing dose efficiently without declining image quality and aquring good qualified image is set 120 kVp and selecting second Ion chamber.
