  • This paper suggests the online method to identify normal and abnormal state of water quality on the ocean USN. To define normal of the ocean water quality, we utilize the negative selection algorithm of artificial immunity system which has self and nonself identification characteristics. To distinguish abnormal status, normal state set of the ocean water quality needs to be defined. For this purpose, we generate normal state set base on mutations of each data and mutation of the data as logical product. This mutated normal (or self) sets used to identify abnormal status of the water quality. We represent the experimental result about mutated self set with the Gaussian function. Through setting the method on the ocean sensor logger, we can monitor whether the ocean water quality is normal or abnormal state by online.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effectiveness of oral care protocol including individual oral care education, cryotherapy and benzydamine gargling on oral cavity status and self-care performance in solid cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Thirty-one patients were enrolled by convenience sampling in this study and allocated to control (n=18) and experimental group (n=13). In the intervention group, individual oral care education, oral cryotherapy and benzydamine gargling were applied, while the control group received pre-existed oral care. Oral cavity status and self-oral care behavior were measured in five periods. The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test, Friedman test, and Chi-square test. There was no significant difference in oral cavity status between the groups. But the two groups showed the poorest oral cavity status on $14^{th}$ day. Self-care behavior was significantly higher in the intervention group than the control group. This effect had maintained for 4months after completion of study. The results showed that individual oral care education by oncology nurse is effective to encourage patients to do self-care behavior and a further study is needed to explore the effect of cryotherapy and benzydamine gargling on oral cavity status of patient with solid tumor.

  • Hysteresis is a common feature exhibited in hydraulic properties of an unsaturated soil. This study focuses on hysteresis observed in a compacted weathered granite subgrade soils based on the pressure plate laboratory tests. It was found that the Soil-Water Characteristics Curve of a soil is hysteretic and unique. The results also show that the wetting and drying curves predicted using the Fredlund and Xing model is quite close to the laboratory-measured results. For a specific matric suction, water content or coefficient of permeability on a wetting curve is always lower than those found on a drying curve.

  • In recent years, the AES in North America and the NESSIE project in Europe have been in progress. Six proposals have been submitted to the NESSIE project including the LILI-128 by Simpson in Australia in the synchronous stream cipher category. These proposals tend towards a design with parallelism of the algorithms in order to facilitate speed-up. In this paper, we consider the PS-LFSR and propose the effective implementation of various nonlinear combiners: memoryless-nonlinear combiner, memory-nonlinear combiner, nonlinear filter function, and clock-controlled function. Finally, we propose m-parallel SUM-BSG and LILI-l28's parallel implementation as examples, and we determine their securities and performances.

  • The inverse function of a one-to-one correspondence is explained with a graph, a numerical formula or other useful expressions. The purpose of this paper is to know how low achieving students understand the learning contents needed reversible thinking about irrational functions. Low achieving students in this study took paper-pencil test and their written answers were collected. They made various mistakes in solving problems. Their error types were grouped into several classes and identified in this analysis. Most students did not connected concepts that they learned in the lower achieving students to think in reverse order in case of and to visualize concepts of functions. This paper implies that it is very important to take into account students' accommodation and reversible thinking activity.

  • This paper presents an algorithm simplifying the ESOP function by several rules. The algorithm is repeatedly performing operations based on the state of each terms by the product transformation operation of two functions and thus it is simplifying the ESOP function through the reduction of the product terms. Through the minimization of the product terms of the multi-valued input binary multi-output function, an optimization of the input has been done using EXOR PLA with input decoder. The algorithm when applied to four valued arithmetic circuit has been used for a EXOR logic circuit design and the two bits input decoder has been used for a EXOR-PLA design. It has been found from a computer simulation(IBM PC486) that the suggested algorithm can reduce the product terms of the output function remarkably regardless of the number of input variables when the variable AND-EXOR PLA is applied to the poperation circuit.

  • In this research, evaluation of adhesion in tension property of SBR-modified concrete to ordinary portland cement concrete was conducted with uniaxial direct tensile bond test which was proposed by Kuhlmann. A test set-up was fabricated in order to minimize the eccentric force by introducing a joint which might fully rotate. The main experimental variables were cement-latex ratios, surface preparations and moisture levels. The results obtained were as follows: The LMC specimen at 15% latex-cement ratio increased the adhesion in tension by range of 37% compared to that of conventional cement concrete. This might be due to latex film formed between cement paste and aggregate. The effects of surface preparation on bond of latex modified concrete to conventional concrete were significant at the conditions by sand paper and wire brush. A better bond could be achieved by rough surface rather than smooth. The saturated and surface dry (SSD) condition were considered to be the most appropriate moisture level followed by wet, finally by dry. Thus, a proper surface preparation and moisture level are quite necessity in order to obtain better bonding at LMC overlay.

  • Accurate identification of damping matrix in structures is very important for predicting vibration responses and estimating parameters or other characteristics affected by energy dissipation. In this paper, damping matrix identification method that use normal frequency response functions, which were estimated from complex frequency response functions, is proposed. The complex frequency response functions were obtained from the experimental data of the structure. The nonproportional damping matrix was identified through the proposed method. Two numerical examples (lumped-mass model and cantilever beam model) were considered to verify the performance of the proposed method. As a result, the damping matrix of the nonproportional system was accurately identified.

  • The stress and displacement fields at the crack tip were studied during the unsteady propagation of a mode III crack in a direction that was different from the property graduation direction in functionally graded materials (FGMs). The property graduation in FGMs was assumed based on the linearly varying shear modulus under a constant density and the exponentially varying shear modulus and density. To obtain the solution of the harmonic function, the general partial differential equation of the dynamic equilibrium equation was transformed into a Laplace equation. Based on the Laplace equation, the stress and displacement fields, which depended on the time rates of change in the crack tip speed and stress intensity factor, were obtained through an asymptotic analysis. Using the stress and displacement fields, the effects of the angled property variation on the stresses, displacements, and stress intensity factors are discussed.

  • An effect of the spin-orbit coupling interaction of ligand orbitals on the ground state for octahedral $[Ti(Ⅲ)A_3B_3]$, $ [V(Ⅲ)A_3B_3]$, $ [Fe(Ⅲ)A_3B_3]$ and $ [Ni(Ⅱ)A_3B_3]$ type complexes has been investigated in this work, applying the degenerate perturbation theory. The wave functions are not affected but the energy level splitting for the ground state of these complexes by the spin-orbit coupling interaction of ligand orbitals. The extent of effect on the energy level splitting for the ground state is decreased in order Ti(Ⅲ) > V(Ⅲ) > Fe(Ⅲ).
