This paper points out the importance and necessity of 'non-representational cultural studies' in South Korea. For this, Stuart Hall's seminal research "Encoding/Decoding" (1980) is to be re-read thoroughly with articulation of his later practices. Along with, this research looks at how non-representational cultural studies can expand the scope of understanding various comtemporary phenomenon of our society usually untold by mainstream cultural studies' themes and methods which focus more on abstract division and representational discourses. Notably, Stuart Hall's influential early writings and practical later engagements could bring us to think more seriously not only where contemporary cultural studies goes but also where cultural studies in South Korea should go. This article narrows the attention into Hall's EC/DC theory and related research-practical activity influenced by his own philosophy. Indeed, cultural studies in South Korea still seems to be almost same as early Birmingham cultural studies especially in the aspects like research direction and theme; however, that is quite unusual in some points. These points are to be explicated by this attempt of following Hall's meaningful life-long trajectory as a cultural activist as well as media theorist.

문화지도는 문화와 관련된 다양한 양상들을 점, 선, 기호 등으로 표현하여 지도에 나타낸 것이며, 전자문화지도는 이 지도를 효율성과 편리성을 위하여 컴퓨터를 이용하여 디지털 파일이나 데이터베이스화 시킨 것이다. 이러한 문화지도를 활용하면 해외지역 연구 결과를 시각적으로 표현할 수 있어서, 연구 결과를 보다 이해하기 쉽게 되고 새로운 연구에 대한 기초 자료로 활용이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 해외지역 문화, 특히 지중해지역을 위한 전자문화 지도의 접목에 대하여 연구한다. 세부적으로 문화양식, 문화유산, 문화생활과 같은 다양한 문화 양상을 식별하기 위한 문화 분류, 문화지도 구성을 제시한다.

The purpose of this essay explores a critical review of the Korean critical communication studies focused on the problematic of cultural studies and political economy in 2000s. The findings are as follows; The 'consumer turn' or 'audience turn' in new revisionism modelling John Fiske's cultural studies has been interpreted not to complement but to substitute the necessary criticism of the post-authoritarian media establishment of Korea at that time, arising identity crisis of Korean cultural studies as one of the critical camp. On other side, however, some political economy studies close to the unilinear theses of orthodox marxism has been appraised to neglect the complex process and structure of media and cultural production as well. While the press war between the market-dominant dailies and some progressive dailies has given rise to a whole debate as expected in consolidating period of Korean emerging democracy, the conjucturalism as modelled by Hall's 'authoritarian populism' failed to initiate a new theo tical practice in Korea. Finally, this review essay propose the some new research issues that would converge cultural studies and political economy, modernism and postmodernism; citizenship vs 'cultural citizenship'(valuing the private identity and gender) or Habermasian public sphere vs 'cultural public sphere', the culture of production, (modern)citizen/(postmodern)consumer(recently debated in English media policy), 'differentiation' in capitalist production and 'difference' in consumer sovereignty, 21c future vision of public service broadcasting as one of the 20c institutions.

The main purpose of this study was to use Deep Learning based Topic Modeling and Semantic Network Analysis to examine research trend of arts management-related papers in korea. For this purpose, research subjects such as 'The Journal of Cultural Policy', 'The Journal of Cultural Economics', 'The Journal of Culture Industry', 'The Journal of Arts Management', and 'The Journal of Human Content', which are the registered journal of the National Research Foundation of Korea directly or indirectly related to arts management field. From 1988 to 2017, a total of 2,110 domestic journals' signature, abstract, and keyword were analyzed. We tried Big Data analysis such as Topic Modeling and Semantic Network Analysis to examine changes in trends in arts management. The analysis program used open software R and standard statistical software SPSS. Based on the results of the analysis, the implications and limitations of the study and suggestions for future research were discussed. And the potential for development of convergent research such as Arts & Artificial Intelligence and Arts & Big Data.

본 연구는 역사문화의 입장에서 중국 복식문화의 원류에 관해 연구한 것으로 무속과 예약문화가 그 형성에 영향을 미친것을 밝혔다. 중국복식문화는 고대 주술문화에서 중요한 역할을 했을 뿐 아니라 상당한 비중을 차지하였다. 중국 복식문화의 성숙기와 서주때의 중국 예약문화의 형성은 매우 밀접한 상관이 있다. 예약문화의 표현에서 계급성을 내용으로 하고 형 식 성을 특징으로 하는 체제에서 중요한 작용을 하였다 동시 에 복식문화 자체도 이 시 기 에 아주 풍요롭게 발전하여 중국 문화의 견고한 기초를 확립하였다.

What are the meanings of abduction as a methodology of Cultural Studies? By contextualizing Charles Sanders Peirce's logic of abduction in the discipline of Cultural Studies, I explore the epistemological discussion on the modern scientific research methodology of social sciences. Abduction is a kind of logical inference, which is often associated with guessing or intuition. Peirce's method of abduction and Cultural Studies' contextual formation in effect address an alternative methodology to positivism. Criticizing the modern Eurocentric structure of knowledge construction, I suggest that the virtue of abduction, as a logic of discovery, should be re-discovered in the context of Cultural Studies. Abduction holds important lessons for Cultural Studies as well as social sciences in general because of its focus on intuition, empathy, and intellectual collaboration. Through its elaboration of the logic of abduction, Cultural Studies is able to maintain not only its epistemological ground but also its methodological communicability.

우리나라 4대 강 중에서 낙동강 권역은 관광자원 측면에서 볼 때 다양한 관광자원을 보유하고 있음에도 불구하고, 기존 연구는 수자원의 산업적 이용과 상수원 확보 차원에서 수질보전과 유지에 대한 환경학적 연구가 주종을 이루었다. 따라서 본 연구는 문화관광학적 관점에서 낙동강 권역을 조명하고 문화재의 분포특성을 분석하였으며, 다음과 같은 연구결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 지방분권시대의 도래를 앞두고 낙동강 권역의 협치(governance)에 의거 연구대상 범위를 낙동강유역환경청과 대구지방환경청의 관할구역에 따라 연구범위를 설정하였다. 둘째, 본 연구분석 대상으로 문화관광자원 중 국가지정문화재 시도지저문화재 문화재자료 등 문화재 등을 대상으로 하였다. 셋째, 문화관광자원의 지리적 분포는 다음과 같은 특성을 나타내었다. 관할구역에 따른 문화관광자원의 분포는 대구지방환경청이 낙동강유역환경청보다 양적 우세성을 보였다.

This study was conducted to revalidate CQS and to examine the factors influencing cultural intelligence among Korean students studying abroad. 143 Korean students in USA and Canada were participated in the survey. Confirmatory factor analysis identified a model with four factors and CQS has negative correlation with acculturation stress and academic stress but positive correlation with subjective wellbeing. This findings suggest that CQS is a reliable and valid scale. Hierarchical regression analyses confirmed that personality is more significant predictor than cultural experiences for CQS. Discussion focuses on the importance of the findings, limitations and future directions.

The purpose of this study is to explore the culture of an academic library, fictitiously titled the New Millennium Library(NML). The study employed various research methods: pilot interviews with academic library workers, field observation at NML, a value survey conducted among NML workers and structured interviews with selected volunteers fromthe pool of survey respondents. Information gathered on the NML's culture is presented in a chart of five cultural dimensions and three organizational layers. The study is expected to inform library culture research as well as organizational culture research through a utilization of mixed methodology.

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 17개 광역자치단체(시 도)별 문화기반시설과 문화향유여건 간의 영향력 관계를 살펴보기 위함이다. 이를 위해 지자체별 문예회관을 중심으로하여 문화기반시설 여건을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 광역지자체별로 문화기반시설과 문화향유여건의 영향력 관계를 살펴보았는데, 지자체 문화기반시설과 문화향유 활동이 영향을 받고 있다는 점을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과들은 향후 지자체의 문화기반시설 지원정책에 있어 지역문화향유기회확대를 위해서는 충분한 문화기반시설을 제공해야 한다는 실무적인 시사점을 보여주었다.
