Kenzo Tange was interested in how to express tradition in the process of creation of modern architecture and tried to express the traditionaluty of Japanese architecture in his own way. In particular, Tange expressed Japanese tradition in terms of building materials and components from the point of view of his own 'New Tradition'. Tange created the 'Japanese style of architecture' based on traditional architecture to match the discourse of international architecture and distinguish it from the Western one, by harmonizing the plasticity of Japanese traditional architecture with the Western technology in building materials and components. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the signs and traces of traditions in the building materials and components in his architecture. Through this study, I would like to have implications for our architecture, which had a very different process and result from Japan in digesting and combining it with traditional architecture although Western civilization was accepted at about the same time.

Kenzo Tange who had successfully led Japan's early modern architecture has been interested in how to express tradition in the process of realistic creation of architecture since the 1950s. He tried to express the tradition of Japanese architecture in modern architecture in his own way. Tange believed that existing theory of tradition preserving traditional forms would no longer make Japan's tradition international. Therefore, he insisted that through his own 'new tradition', the tradition is maintained only by constant innovation, and that it does not leave traces in the results as a catalyst to stimulate creative activities. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the concept and characteristics of 'new tradition' which Tange has claimed in his architecture.

본 연구는 한국전통건축 중 한옥을 중심으로 건축설계물 내부의 기류현상을 분석하여 전통건축의 설계에 있어서 에너지 효율을 높이기 위한 방안을 과학적으로 검증하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 전통 건축물의 주요부재에 관한 열역학적 물성치를 대표 값으로 설정하고 물성치의 변화를 실험 결과를 활용하여 보정하여 한옥 내부의 유동장과 온도분포 예측하여 그 결과를 제시한다. 이를 통해 건축 부재의 열역학적 특성이 현대의 다양한 기능재료에 비해 열악할지라도 이를 부재간의 배치와 조합을 통해 소정의 에너지 효율을 달성한 사례를 규명할 것이다.

Information and Communications Technologies(ICT) represented by Multimedia, Virtual Reality and Network could be used as the better ways to preserve and restore the original shape of cultural contents. This paper presents the detailed methods of Multimedia and Virtual Reality technologies to digitally implement the traditional wooden buildings which are called as a typical 'Korean Cultural Content." We implemented a 3D modeling of architectural parts, realized a roof curve, and texture-mapped the material qualities of traditional wooden buildings by using Graphic techniques. In addition, the information, which is implemented by marker-based Augment Reality, for the traditional wooden buildings can be obtained through the mobile appliances such as a smart phone. We, also, presented how to practically use the implemented digital Korea traditional wooden buildings.

최근 국가균형발전을 위한 문화콘텐츠산업의 비중은 날로 커지고 있으며 디지털 컨버젼스의 중심으로 부각되고 있다. 이러한 시대적, 사회적 요구에 즈음하여 정부의 지역문화 콘텐츠 육성 의지에 부합하는 전통건축물의 e-Learning을 위한 웹 기반 저작도구의 구현방법을 제안하고자 한다. 지금까지의 전통건축의 복원 및 재현은 전통적인 전수방식에 의존하거나 다분히 현상적인 수준에 그치고 있어, 우리 문화에서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있는 전통건축물에 대한 저변의 확대와 보편적이고 대중적인 이해를 돕기에는 한계가 존재하는 것이 사실이다. 또한 전통건축에 관련한 교육자료는 대부분 고서(古書)나 텍스트에 의존하고 있는 것이 현실인 점을 감안할 때, 시각적이고 인터랙티브한 e-Learning 시스템의 연구는 필수적이라 할 것이다. 연구의 범위로서는 한국문화콘텐츠진흥원의 진행 중 사업인 문화원형복원사업인 "조선시대 탐라순력도의 디지털콘텐츠 개발"의 내용을 토대로 하며, 조선 중기인 17세기 제주도의 주심포계 전통건축을 대상으로 하고 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 1) 17세기 중엽 제주도의 주심포계 전통건축물에 대한 가구구조의 형성관계 및 그 형상을 디지털화하기 위한 데이터 체계를 제안하고, 2) 이에 따른 웹 기반의 가상전시 및 e-Learning 콘텐츠를 위한 시스템 구축의 프로토타입을 제시하며, 3) 상기 제시한 데이터 체계에 근거한 사용자 중심의 전통건축물 재현을 위한 3차원 저작환경 및 그 인터페이스를 제시한다. 이 결과로 전통건축물의 형성원리를 이해하고 전통 양식에 근거한 창의적 저작이 가능한 환경을 제시함으로써 멀티미디어 저작물 및 디자인 협업, 전통건축 유지보수 분야 등에 파급효과를 기대할 수 있다. 더불어 제안된 내용에 근거한 향후 연구로 전통건축물에 대한 일관되고 통합적인 관리방안과 그 실현수단에 대한 논의를 비롯하여 전통문화를 소재로 한 디지털 콘텐츠의 활용방안 및 그 부가가치에 대한 논의가 병행되어야 할 것이다.

96년 미국과 멕시코로 루이스 칸과 바라간 등의 건축 답사를 다녀온 후로, 우리 전통 문화유산을 두루 보러 다녔다. 그동안 가까이 있는 것은 언제건 보겠거니 하고 미뤄 온 터라, 우리 것을 너무 도외시해 온 것 같은 자책감이 생겼기 때문이다. 그리고 건축관에 변화가 있는건 아니지만, 답사하면서 이따금 좋은 느낌을 만나 반가웠다. 솔직히 말해서 다 그런 것은 아니고 손꼽아 말할 수 있었다. 그러면서 필자는 건축적 가치의 획득이 고전과 현대 또는 양식의 차이에 의해서가 아니고, 자체의 성공 여부에 있다는 것을 확신하게 되었다. 건축의 본질은 변함없으며, 건축에 반영된 시대 상황이 다를 따름이라 생각한다. 우리는 훌륭한 문화유산을 많이 갖고 있다. 하지만 국가나 개인의 살림이 넉넉해서 그렇게 되어졌다고 생각지는 않는다. 종묘가 만들어진 것은 정신적 힘에 의해 이룩됐을 것이다. 그렇게 해서 지금 우리에게 위대한 모습으로 남겨 있는 것이 감사하다. 전통건축은 현대 사유 체계로는 추구될 수 없는 이상적인 모습을 띠고 있다. 그리고 오늘날 건축의 자본주의 행태와 대조되는 교훈도 느낀다. 도대체 우리 선조들에게는 구도하듯 짓는 어떤 전통이 있었기에 그렇게 훌륭한 건축이 남겨질 수 있었을까? 그 흔적을 나름대로 찾아보고자 한다.

The purpose of this study was to estimate the resistance capacity of a traditional wooden house with shear walls made of wood panel. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the load - displacement test was carried out and the resistance moment values of the shear walls were proposed. The shear walls were made by placing studs with a nominal dimension of $38mm{\times}89mm$ at intervals of 600 mm, and attaching 12 mm thick plywood with 8-d size pegs at intervals of 150 mm. The type of traditional building wall was classified and showed the moment resistance ability of each wall type. This value is expressed as a proportional value divided by the moment resisting capacity of the standard size shear walls not divided into the divided small frames. Although some frames have proportional values larger than 1.0 even though they have openings, most of them show values smaller than 1.0. Also, even without the openings, it showed a smaller value than 1, such as 0.84 and 0.67.

세계 각국의 많은 건축가들이 스스로의 전통을 찾는 과정에서 선인들의 업적 중 기능상, 의장상, 절대적 가치가 있는 것을 택하려고 시도하고 있음은 주지의 사실이다. 이에 따라 건축계에서 양식 EH는 전통의 문제가 논의되고 있는 이때 본 연구는 좋은 자료가 될 것이다.
