Computer Vision-Based Car Accident Detection using YOLOv8 (YOLO v8을 활용한 컴퓨터 비전 기반 교통사고 탐지)

  • Car accidents occur as a result of collisions between vehicles, leading to both vehicle damage and personal and material losses. This study developed a vehicle accident detection model based on 2,550 image frames extracted from car accident videos uploaded to YouTube, captured by CCTV. To preprocess the data, bounding boxes were annotated using roboflow.com, and the dataset was augmented by flipping images at various angles. The You Only Look Once version 8 (YOLOv8) model was employed for training, achieving an average accuracy of 0.954 in accident detection. The proposed model holds practical significance by facilitating prompt alarm transmission in emergency situations. Furthermore, it contributes to the research on developing an effective and efficient mechanism for vehicle accident detection, which can be utilized on devices like smartphones. Future research aims to refine the detection capabilities by integrating additional data including sound.

Using this massive data, decision maker can extract the useful information to make a valuable plan with data mining. Data mining offers service providers great opportunities to get closer to customer. Data mining doesn't always require the latest technology, but it does require a magic eye that looks beyond the obvious to find and use the hidden knowledge to drive marketing strategies Automotive market face an explosion of data arising from customer but a rate of increasing customer is getting lower. therefore, we need to determine which customer are profitable clients whom you wish to hold. This paper builds model of customer loyalty detection and analyzes customer patterns in automotive market with data mining using association rule and basic statics methods. The Multi-Objective Optimal Design of Vehicle Component Manufacturing System with Simulation and ANP (시뮬레이션과 네트워크 분석법을 이용한 자동차 부품 가공시스템의 다목적 최적운영설계)

  • This paper suggested the optimal operating design method using simulation and ANP(Analytic Network Process) for mass-customization in the automotive component manufacturing industry. For this, first of all, we built the simulation model including various and complex factors in the field, and estimated the meta-model by RSM(Response Surface Method). Secondly using ANP, we calculated the weight of relative importance of evaluation factors gathered from decision makers. And then, we proposed the optimal operation designs by MOGA(Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm), analyzed results of them. Moreover, by comparing the results with the consequences using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), we showed its superiority of suggested method to the manner using AHP, because it reflects inner, outer dependency, and inter-relation among judgement factors. In conclusion, through this process, we can present the better way to serve mover effective, precise, and accurate information to decision makers when they build operation design for mass-customization system as automotive parts production system.

Consumer-brand Relationship Quality Formation of Potential Consumers for an Automotive Brand: Effectiveness of Native Advertising (자동차 브랜드 잠재소비자의 소비자-브랜드 관계 품질 형성에 대한 연구: 네이티브 광고의 효과를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to examine the effects of native advertising on consumer-brand relationship quality (BRQ) formation of the potential consumers in the context of an automotive brand. Specifically, the study verifies (1) whether the respondents cognize the content of native advertisement as an advertisement and (2) how the value dimensions of native advertising impact BRQ through brand attitude (BAT). To fulfill the purposes, the researchers categorized three types of advertisements (product, brand and non-commercial) and then showed three manipulated stimuli to potential consumers in the automotive market before measuring. The findings drawn from the 345 valid cases are as following. First, the rate of respondents' advertising recognition is low in the non-commercial advertisement, while it is high in ones of product and brand. Second, most of the respondents perceive less irritation toward the native ads, especially toward the non-commercial advertisement. Third, the entertainment and informativeness of native advertising positively influence BRQ, while the effect of irritation on BRQ is negative. Also, the effects of advertising value dimensions on BRQ are all mediated by BAT.

  • The number of motor vehicle registrations in Korea is increasing steadily each year, driven by industry development and economic growth. The number of traffic accidents is also rapidly increasing. Korea has a relatively high number of traffic accidents among OECD member countries, and it ranks among the highest in traffic accident death rates. This death rate is higher compared to death rates as a proportion of the number of traffic accidents in each country. It is very common for drivers to lose consciousness in traffic collisions, which leads to a failure to carry out early emergency measures. In order to prevent such situations as well as hit-and-runs and people left uncared for after traffic accidents, there is a need for motor vehicle black boxes and accident report systems. This study addressed the need for an emergency evacuation system for people injured in traffic accidents and a secondary traffic accident prevention system by developing a motor vehicle emergency situation detection and report system combined with a black box, and materializing it as an actual system.

  • The purpose of the present study is to identify the differences of customer preference in online and offline used car business. Conjoint analysis is used for examining the attributes of used car choices. As a result, the order of importance in real used car market is as follows: brand, design, price, model, mileage. Whereas the order of importance in online used car market is as follows: brand, trust, price, web design, accident. Accordingly, the author suggested that customer preferences depend on the path people are approaching and the attributes of preference vary in online and real stores. For example, trust and accident are important attributes in online market in comparison with real market. Used car market is increasing and becoming important. The authorities and practitioners need to understand used car market and establish the related policies.

  • Recently, most of the energy consumed in vehicle is derived from fossil fuels. For this reason, the demand for clean, renewable and affordable alternative energy is forcing the automotive industry to look beyond the conventional fossil fuels. Natural gas represents today a promising alternative to conventional fuels for vehicles propulsion, because it is characterized by a relatively low cost, better geopolitical distribution than oil, lower environmental impact, higher octane number and a higher self ignition temperature. Above all, CNG is an environmentally clean alternative to the existing spark ignition engines with the advantages of minimum change. In this study was installed bi-fuel system that a conventional 2 liters gasoline engine was modified to run on natural gas by a gas injection system. Experiments were mainly carried on the optimization of an ECU control strategy affecting the emission characteristics of CNG/Gasoline bi-fule vehicle. The test results shown that CO2 emission in bi-fuel mode was reduced 16% compared to gasoline fuel in the NEDC mode. Also the amount of CO and HC emissions in bi-fuel and gasoline modes were found to equality. But Compared to gasoline, the bi-fuel mode resulted in higher NOx emissions.

  • This paper is a study on integrated air-conditioning system for 1-ton class commercial vehicle based on electric vehicle. In the case of an electric commercial vehicle, since the opening and closing of the door is frequently performed in order to get in and out of the cargo, the heat loss largely occurs. Therefore, the heating and cooling load is required to be larger than the electric vehicle. As a result, the energy consumed by the heating and cooling system is larger than the passenger electric car in order to satisfy the heat comfort required by passengers. In order to overcome these disadvantages, we performed research using an efficient integrated air conditioning system. Finally, the design and analysis of a heat pump system for heating and a electrical compressor for cooling need to be proceed to develop a high-efficiency air conditioning system for improving the commerciality of 1 ton-class electric trucks and expanding the industrial ecosystem in the electric truck sector.

The Effects of Perceived Value of Chinese Consumers on the Purchase Intention of New Energy Vehicles: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Innovation (중국 소비자의 지각된 가치가 신에너지 자동차의 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 혁신성의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This research emphasized the importance of consumers' perceived value and verified the mediating effect of innovation in the effect of consumers' perceived value on the purchase intention of new energy vehicles. To verify this, a survey was conducted on Chinese consumers. The verification results are as follows. First, it was verified that environmental value, social value, quality value, and economic value, which are sub-factors of perceived value, all have a significant positive effect on innovation. Second, it was found that innovation had a significant positive effect on purchase intention. Third, it was proved that innovation have partial mediating effects in the relationship between environmental values, social values, quality values, economic values, and purchase intention. Finally, the implications of this study result and future research directions were discussed.

Integrated Storage System For Automobile Production Line (자동차 생산라인을 위한 통합창고 시스템)

  • The automobile manufacture is a typical integrated assembly production that the numerous parts are committed sequentially to the assembly line. In this type of automobile manufacture, WBS (white body storage) and PBS (paint body storage) are operated to adjust the production sequence and to buffer. Starvation (impossibility of production owing to the insufficient supply) or blocking (impossibility of production owing to the over capacity) could occur in some chance, hence, both storages (WBS, PBS) are integrated as a prevention. This system is called integrated storage. In this paper, we suggest the simulation model of 'WBS-PBS integrated storage' and methodology of operation considering both 'Color grouping' and 'Option leveling.'
