  • With the increase of multimedia information such as images, researches have been realized on how to extract the high-level semantic information from low-level visual information, and a variety of techniques have been proposed to generate this information automatically. However, most of these technologies extract the semantic information between single images, it's difficult to extract semantic information when a combination of multiple objects within the image. In this paper, we extract the visual features of objects within the image and training images stored in the DB and the features of each object are defined by measuring the similarity. Using ontology reasoner, each object feature within images infers the semantic information by positional relation and associative relation. With this, it's possible to infer semantic information between objects within images, we proposed a method for inferring more complicated and a variety of high-level semantic information.

  • The final aim of the present study is to develop the intelligent robot, emulating human synesthetic skills which make it possible to associate a color image with a specific sound. This can be done on the basis of the mutual conversion between color image and sound. As a first step of the final goal, this study focused on a basic system using a conversion of color image into sound. This study describes a proposed method to convert color image into sound, based on the likelihood in the physical frequency information between light and sound. The method of converting color image into sound was implemented by using HSI histograms through RGB-to-HSI color model conversion, which was done by Microsoft Visual C++ (ver. 6.0). Two different color images were used on the simulation experiments, and the results revealed that the hue, saturation and intensity elements of each input color image were converted into fundamental frequency, harmonic and octave elements of a sound, respectively. Through the proposed system, the converted sound elements were then synthesized to automatically generate a sound source with wav file format, using Csound.

  • The recent Neural Network technique has shown good performance in content generation such as image generation in addition to the conventional classification problem and clustering problem solving. In this study, we propose an image generation method using artificial neural network as a next generation content creation technique. The proposed artificial neural network model receives two images and combines them into a new image by taking color from one image and shape from the other image. This model is made up of Convolutional Neural Network, which has two encoders for extracting color and shape from images, and a decoder for taking all the values of each encoder and generating a combination image. The result of this work can be applied to various 2D image generation and modification works in game development process at low cost.

  • Recently, as multimedia information becomes popular, there are many studies to retrieve images based on images in the web. However, it is hard to find the matching images which users want to find because of various patterns in images. In this paper, we suggest an efficient images retrieval system based on images for finding products in internet shopping malls. We extract features for image retrieval by using SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) algorithm, repeat keypoint matching in various dimension by using PCA-SIFT, and find the image which users search for by combining them. To verify efficiency of the proposed method, we compare the performance of our approach with that of SIFT and PCA-SIFT by using images with various patterns. We verify that the proposed method shows the best distinction in the case that product labels are not included in images.

  • Content-based image retrieval(CBIR) is an image data retrieval methodology using characteristic values of image data those are generated by system automatically without any caption or text information. In this paper, we propose a content-based image data retrieval method using shape and color features of image data as characteristic values. For this, we present some image processing techniques used for feature extraction and indexing techniques based on trie and R tree for fast image data retrieval. In our approach, image query result is more reliable because both shape and color features are considered. Also, we how an image database which implemented according to our approaches and sample retrieval results which are selected by our system from 200 sample images, and an analysis about the result by considering the effect of characteristic values of shape and color.

  • We detect the obstacle for the UGV(unmanned ground vehicle) from the compound image which is generated by stereo vision sensor masking the depth image and color image. Stereo vision sensor can gathers the distance information by stereo camera. The obstacle information from the depth compound image can be send to mobile robot and the robot can localize the indoor area. And, we test the performance of the mobile robot in terms of distance between the obstacle and the robot's position and also test the color, depth and compound image respectively. Moreover, we test the performance in terms of number of frame per second which is processed by operating machine. From the result, compound image shows the improved performance in distance and number of frames.

  • CAPTCHA is a security tool that prevents the automatic sign-up by a spam or a robot. This CAPTCHA usually depends on the smart readability of humans. However, the common and plain CAPTCHA with text-based system is not difficult to be solved by intelligent web-bot and machine learning tools. In this paper, we propose a new sub-image based CAPTCHA system totally different from the text based system. Our system offers a set of cropped sub-image from a whole digital picture and asks user to identify the correct orientation. Though there are some nice machine learning tools for this job, but they are useless for a cropped sub-images, which was clearly revealed by our experiment. Experiment showed that our sub-image based CAPTCHA is easy to human solver, but very hard to all kinds of machine learning or AI tools. Also our CAPTCHA is easy to be generated automatical without any human intervention.

  • Techniques for generating new sample data from higher dimensional data such as images have been utilized variously for speech synthesis, image conversion and image restoration. This paper adopts Progressive Growing of Generative Adversarial Networks(PG-GANs) as an implementation model to generate high-resolution images and to enhance variation of the generated images, and applied it to fashion image data. PG-GANs allows the generator and discriminator to progressively learn at the same time, continuously adding new layers from low-resolution images to result high-resolution images. We also proposed a Mini-batch Discrimination method to increase the diversity of generated data, and proposed a Sliced Wasserstein Distance(SWD) evaluation method instead of the existing MS-SSIM to evaluate the GAN model.

  • Women's perceptions of body size and body image are important topics for researchers in multiple fields. The terms body image or body self refer to perceptions and beliefs that an individual holds about his or her body (Rosenbaum, 1979; Schilder, 1953). Few studies have focused on body image perceptions as they relate to parent-child pairs. This study investigated the perceptions that mothers and daughters each had of their own body, the other's body, and their ideals for the same. The purposive sample used in this study consisted of 41 mother-daughter pairs. The sampled focus was girls between ages 9 and 14, and their mothers. Significant differences between how mothers saw their daughters and how daughters saw themselves emerged only for the plus size group. The clearest significant difference between mothers and daughters was in their dissatisfaction with themselves. The mothers were more dissatisfied. flus-size girls were significantly more dissatisfied with their mothers' bodies than normal size girls were with their mothers' bodies. The mothers of plus size girls were significantly more dissatisfied with their daughters' bodies than were the mothers of normal size daughters.
