The purpose of this study is to analyze the media policy of the Third Republic and its influence on local newspapers in Korea. Just after the May 16th coup Military Government enforced the press merger and abolition and in 1962 announced the direction of the media policy and its implementation standards. These standards had a serious impact on local newspapers. It had resulted in weakening the reporting activities and aggravating the financial difficulties of the local newspapers. The media policy in 1971, which was in the form of self-purification resolutions of media corporations limited the dissemination and weakened the activities of local newspapers. By these measures the centralizing to Seoul of the media had to be deepened. The industrialization policy promoted by the Third Republic exacerbated this centralizing process.

This study is the result of the analysis on the user interface of the Korean internet newspapers. To investigate the user interfaces, the home pages of the 6 internet newspaper were selected as the samples. Then, the information procedures, designs. information presentations, and searching routines of that samples were analyzed. For the home-page design of the internet newspaper and the education of the article search by the journalist-librarian with the press or the librarian in common. the results of the paper will be helpful.

인터넷의 발달과 인터넷 문화의 보편화로 인하여 사용자들은 폭발적으로 증가하는 다양한 정보를 접할 수 있게 되었으며, 자체 생산하거나 다른 신문사들로부터 생산된 기사들을 단순 유통, 링크를 통하여 정보검색 사이트들뿐만 아니라 각종 포털 사이트, 인터넷신문사들은 많은 다양한 경로로 기사를 제공할 수 있게 되었다. 이에 따라 인터넷산문을 규정하고 법적, 테두리에 넣기 위한 법률이 제정되었으며, 인터넷신문사에 대해 기사의 자체 생산량이라는 요건 검증에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 본 논문은 인터넷신문 자체기사 생산량을 측정하기 위해 필요한 기술들을 조사하고 타당성을 검토하여 이에 적합한 기술을 제시한다. 제시한 방법은 대량의 기사의 비교를 빠른 시간에 수행한 수 있도록 하기 위해 인간의 단어 인지와 관련한 경험적 정보의 반영을 통하여 변형한 편집거리 기반 방법이다. 제시하는 방법의 정확성을 검증하기 위해 실제 소량의 인터넷 신문 기사를 대상으로 실험하였다.

스포츠선수들에 대한 섹슈얼리티는 '유니폼 관련 섹슈얼리티', '선수의 신체적 특징 관련 섹슈얼리티', '외모 관련 섹슈얼리티' 요인으로 구성되었다. 인터넷신문의 스포츠영상에 묘사된 섹슈얼리티가 인터넷신문의 이용자에게 미치는 영향에 대한 분석에서는 남자 실험집단에서만 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 남자집단의 피실험집단과 남녀경기 처치집단 간 차이가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 인터넷신문의 스포츠영상에 묘사된 섹슈얼리티에 대한 인지도는 남자집단의 피실험집단에 비해 남녀경기 처치집단이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 인터넷신문의 스포츠영상에 묘사된 섹슈얼리티는 남성스포츠 소비자들에게 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

영한 기계번역 시스템의 개발을 위해서는 여러 가지 사전이 필요하고, 다앙한 모호성 해소를 위한 연구를 위한 데이터가 필요하며, 번역 시스템의 테스트를 위해 많은 영어 문장이 필요하다. 따라서 영어 말뭉치를 구축하여 이로부터 사전에 필요한 정보, 모호성 해소 연구에 필요한 데이터, 번역 테스트를 위한 문장 등을 추출할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 영어 말뭉치를 구축하기 위해 인터넷 영어 신문 사이트로부터 영어로 작성된 신문기사를 추출하는 도구를 개발하였다. 이를 통해 자동적으로 영어 신문기사를 추출하여 말뭉치를 구축할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 영한 기계번역 시스템의 성능 향상을 지원할 수 있다.

방사성폐기물 관리시설에 관한 신문의 관심은 매우 컸으며, 3개월 동안에 480건의 기사를 8개 신문에서 실었다. 사설도 38건이었으나 상황과 사안에 따라 모든 신문이 정형화된 내용과 비판을 하였다. 기사는 대부분 정부의 보도 자료에 의존한 하거나, 시위소식 등을 전하는 단순사안이었고, 심층보도는 이 사업 추진에 가장 큰 장애요소가 되고 있는 지역주민과 시민단체의 반대논리와 여론을 이해할 수 있도록 전달하지 못하였다. 특히 가장 쟁점이 될 수 있는 방사성폐기물의 위험과 안전에 대해서는 68건의 심층 보도 가운데 17건에서만 언급되고 있었는데, 그 내용도 위험성과 안전에 대한 해설이나 분석기사는 아니었다. 결과적으로 신문은 정부와 지역주민간의 갈등을 해결하는 조화의 장을 이끌어 내거나 제공하지 못하였고, 찬성과 반대 측 전문가들에게 공론의 장을 제공하여 사회적 합의를 도출하는데 기여하지는 못하였다. 오히려 많은 기사 보도의 남발로 방사성폐기물 관리시설에 대한 부정적인 이미지를 부각시키는 영향만 남았다고 판단된다.

온라인 미디어의 발전으로 인터넷 신문 웹사이트의 유형과 범위도 확대되고 그에 따른 정확한 평가가 필요해지고 있다. 특히 웹사이트의 유형에 따라 평가요인의 상대적 중요도가 다르기 때문에, 그에 따라 요소들의 중요도를 정확히 추출하는 것이 중요하다. 그러나 인터넷 신문 웹사이트 평가요소를 합리적으로 산출하는 방법에 관한 연구는 아직 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷 신문 웹사이트의 특화된 요인을 산출하고 분석하기 위하여 HP 기법을 적용하였다. 특히, 인터넷 신문 평가를 위해 처음으로 평가 요소의 가중치를 활용하였다. 이러한 신출물에 대한 분석 결과는 새로운 인터넷 미디어 서비스 개발에 활용될 수 있다.

Because most of feminist researches on the media have been primarily concerned with women's roles and representations in main scream mass media, women's media as alternative media remain remarkably understudied. Thus this study explores women's media in relation to women's movement during the period of US military Government in Korea. There were five women's newspapers which were means of women's movement in this period. However, failing to attract enough appropriate revenues and resort to fund-raising, women's newspapers could nor be published a long time. And women's newspapers as means of women's movement had the defects in women's representations because women's movement lacked a certain degree of autonomy from the male-dominated political activities. In other words, women's newspapers maintained women's participation in political areas, but on the other hand they emphasized the women's role as mother and housewife.

Recognizing the contemporary critical situation of local newspapers in Korea, the present study purposed to consider plans to overcome such a crisis from various aspects and examine the possibility to implement the plans. Specific research question was plans to promote local newspapers on political and legislative dimension. The result of this study proved that the issue of activating local press must be discussed basically in conjunction with the implications and functions of power decentralization. This study also considered the opinion that so-called structural problems, which cannot be tackled by local newspaper, must be intervened in by the government on the dimension of promoting local newspapers politically and legislatively. In particular, the meaning of this study lies in that it was focused on supporting methods to prepare a bill for the special law of local newspaper promotion support, and proposed specific and practical plans.

This paper study about the Perception of Orient in Huangseong-Shinmun(皇城新聞). The Orient as a Non-Western is recognized as a geographical concept which represented Japanized culture and which breaked up Sinocentrism. Huangseong-Shinmun thought Korea, China, and Japan as the main countries which constitute Orient. And this paper regarded these three countries which is Yellow race are main area which countervail Western. Especially this paper thought Japan as the leading power which fulfilled Oriental peace. So Huangseong-Shinmun theorized nations of the same race, region and language(同種同州同文論). But Orientalism is just means which Japan used to rationalized the imperialistic invasion. Nevertheless Huangseong-Shinmun thought that periods are the era of racial competition. This is the limit Huangseong-Shinmun did'nt recognize the strategy which Japan concealed the imperialistic invasion.
