Many studies have been conducted to properly handle nonresponse. Recently, many nonresponse imputation methods have been developed and practically used. Most imputation methods assume MCAR (missing completely at random) or MAR (missing at random). On the contrary, there are relatively few studies on imputation under the assumption of MNAR (missing not at random) or NN (nonignorable nonresponse) that are affected by the study variable. The MNAR causes Bias and reduces the accuracy of imputation whenever response probability is not properly estimated. Lee and Shin (2022) proposed a nonresponse imputation method that can be applied to nonignorable nonresponse assuming homoscedasticity in super-population model. In this paper we propose an generalized version of the imputation method proposed by Lee and Shin (2022) to improve the accuracy of estimation by removing the Bias caused by MNAR under heteroscedasticity. In addition, the superiority of the proposed method is confirmed through simulation studies.

This study investigated the effects of silage additives on rumen fermentation characteristics of rye silage. Rye was harvested at ripening stage and treated with different additives in quadruplicate following: without additive (control), with either lactic acid bacteria inoculant (LAB), formic acid (FA), or Ca-formate (Ca-FA). Overall, ensiling characteristics of FA and Ca-FA silages contained 4-fold more (P<0.05) butyrate and 2-fold more (P<0.05) NH3-N concentration (% total nitrogen) than those of control and LAB silages. Cows fed LAB silage showed a diurnal trend with the highest values of propionate concentration compared to the control at 1, 2 and 3 hr after feeding. In contrast, FA and Ca-FA silages increased the proportion of butyrate significantly (P<0.05) at all sampling times compared to control and LAB silage. In conclusion, Forage rye treated with FA or Ca-FA showed different fermentation characteristics during ensilage and in the rumen compared to LAB silage. Further studies are needed to evaluate whether different fermentation characteristics in the rumen between LAB and FA silages had effect on partitioning of nutrients between milk production and body tissue.
This study was initiated to investigate the effect of chitosan on Kentucky bluegrass growth. Chitosan was applied rates of 300, 500, and 800 times dilution at ten-day intervals after transplanting. We observed such growth characteristics asleaf length, root length, numbers of leaves, fresh weight and dry weight, and chlorophyll content. Treatment of 300 X diluted chitosan resulted in the longest leaf length of 26.2cm comparing with the 17.1cm average leaf length of control. Leaf numbers were 21.4 and 31.7 for the control and the 500 X dilution treatment. The root length in control was 16.8cm while the treatment of 500 X diluted chitosan increased root length to 27.4cm. Chlorophyll content resulted 19.9mg/$100cm^2$ for the control and 25.5mg/$100cm^2$ for the treatment of 300 X diluted chitosan. In general, we found that the treatment of 500 X diluted chitosan resulted higher leaf number, chlorophyll content, fresh and dry weight.
The effect of shading on the mineral components, free amino acid, and fatty acid content of tea shoot was examined under different shading conditions. The results are summarized as follows. The content of Total-Nitrogen and theanine in the tea leaves was the highest in the 95% shading as 5.49% and 15580 mg/kg, respectively, while they were the lowest in the unshading. The contents of total free acid were ranged from 24670 to 30210 mg/kg, showing higher content in the 95% shading than that in the unshading. The contents of ammonium nitrogen, potassium, and magnesium were higher in the all treatments of shading than that of unshading but vise versa in calcium content. The content of total fatty acid was the highest in the 55% + 95% shading as 27990 mg/kg, while that of unshading was the lowest as 24356 mg/kg showing the increasing order of $C_{18:3}$, $C_{18:2}$, $C_{18:0}$, $C_{18:1}$, $C_{18:0}$. The quality of tea leaves was improved with the treatment of shading compared to that of unshading showing the best in the 95% shading.
This experiment was conducted to explore the cultural method capable of raising of picked cotton ratio and more high-yielding in the middle part of Korea where growth period of cotton is short. By early vinyl-mulching culture, emergence date was earlier, flowering and boll opening were shorter than non-mulching, especially boll opening date was earlier about 8 to 15 days. Plant height was longer by vinyl-mulching, fruiting branches and number of bolls per plant at vinyl-mulching of the 10th April produced more twice than non-mulching of the 10th May. Picked cotton ratio was 79% at non-mulching of the 10th May, while viny-mulching of the 10th April produced most of picked cotton as picked cotton ratio 99%. At vinyl-mulching of the 10th April, lint yield increased more 76-90% than non-mulching. Staple length was some longer and also content of linolenic acid of cotton seed oil was higher than non-mulching.

This study deals with the possible degradation of toluene and acetic acid when subjected to cell-free enzyme system from the toluene degrading bacteria Pseudomonas putida and acetic acid degrading bacteria Cupriavidus necator. P. putida produces toluene dioxygenase only under the existence of toluene in culture medium and toluene is degraded to cis-toluene dihydrodiol by this enzyme. C. necator produces acetyl coenzyme A synthetase-1 and converts acetic acid to acetyl CoA in order to synthesize ATP to need for growth or PHA which is biodegradable polymer. In case of toluene degradation, the experiment was conducted before and after production of toluene dioxygenase as this enzyme, produced by P. putida, is an inducible enzyme. Toluene was detected using gas chromatography (GC). Similar amount of toluene was found in control group and before production of toluene dioxygenase (experimental group 1). However, reduction in toluene was detected after the production of toluene dioxygenase (experimental group 2). Acetic acid was detected through application of gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC-MS). The results showed the acetic acid peak was not detected in the experimental group to apply cell-free enzyme system. These results show that the cell-free enzyme system obtained from P. putida and C. necator retained the ability to degrade toluene and acetic acid. However, P. putida needs to produce the inducible enzyme before preparation of the cell-free enzyme system.
The Takju brewing of raw rice starch was carried out by the simultaneous saccharification- fermentation using Rhizopus sp. koji and yeast, and compared with the Takju mash brewed by the conventional method. Rhitopus koji was prepared with uncooked rice for Takju brewing without cooking of rice starch. Alcohol concentration of Takju mash brewed with uncooked rice was slightly higher of 1.8% than that with cooked one. Amino acid contents was almost double and fuse1 oil contents was lower in uncooked brewing. The Takju mash prepared after fermentation without cooking of rice had a characteristic odor of raw material and a good quality of taste.
This study was conducted to investigate the presevative effect of chitosan on soybean leaf kimchi. Three different kinds of chitosan, molecular weihts(M.W) of 2,000, 30,000 and 300,000, were used. Kimchi, prepared by adding chitosan in 0.5% solution or control, was examined for evaluation of pH, acidity, vitamin C and number of Lactic acid bacteria during fermentation at 10$^{\circ}C$ for 20 days. As a result, the pH decreased and acidity increased with increasing fermentation periods. Kimchi with chitosan of M.W 30,000 showed Bower pH, higher acidity, more consitutional vitamin C content, and lower number of tactic acid bacteria than any other treatment. This results suggest that chitosan of M.W 30,000 could be more effective material in presenation of soybean leaf kimchi.
