The goal of this study is an exploratory statistical analysis of the university and college library statistics in the Academic Information Statistics System(rinfo.kr) governed of Korean Education and Research Information Service(KERIS) with performance measures based on sustainability. For the goal, we adopt a preprocessing method to develop change-rate variables by considering preceding predictive elements and succeeding performance elements, and to control external factors, such as size and socioeconomic factors. Then we execute a series of factor analyses and multiple linear regression analyses. 13 factors are extracted by the factor analyses and some sets of significant variables affecting the performance measures are identified through the regression analyses. Based on the results, we discuss the problem of out-lier and low correlation between variables. A suggestion for developing new variables is also discussed based on low effect sizes of the developed regression models. We hope that this study contributes to diffuse discussions on statistics system, evaluation, and further library management based on sustainability.

With the changes in information production and transaction, the ratio of electronic resources in library collection is increasing. Statistical date on usage of electronic resources is an important indicator for library management and development of information service. This study analyzed current state of global standards of usage statistics, and definition and features on electronic resources. It also provides current states of usage statistics data on electronic resources applied by major vendors and publishers. Based on the results of the study, this study proposed the methods to apply statistical data on usage of electronic resources to library management and development of information service.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the model of cluster analysis techniques for grouping public libraries and analyze their characteristics. Statistical data of public libraries of the National Library Statistics System were used, and three models of cluster analysis were applied. As a result of the study, cluster analysis was conducted based on the size of public libraries, and it was largely divided into two clusters. The size of the cluster was largely skewed to one side. For grouping based on size, the ward method of hierarchical cluster analysis and the k-means cluster analysis model were suitable. Three suggestions were presented as implications of the grouping method of public libraries. First, it is necessary to collect library service-related data in addition to statistical data. Second, an analysis model suitable for the data set to be analyzed must be applied. Third, it is necessary to study the possibility of using cluster analysis techniques in various fields other than library grouping.

The purpose of this study is to develop school library evaluation criteria by individual provincial office of education. Data was collected from several school library evaluation criteria. Based upon the data new evaluation criteria were developed in order to increase student academic achievement and apply various school environment. Evaluation items were divided into three items: library programs, school support, service. Evaluation methods were identified into survey method, statistics method, and applied standard statistics method. From three methods, applied standard statistics method was selected. This method included quantitative items and qualitative items. Quantitative items have two criteria from budget, three criteria from collection, and three criteria from use. Qualitative items have two criteria: collection and book usage.

The purpose of this study is to interpret the growth and the present status of in 6 major Korean cities and 9 provinces libraries using statistical data. The data were collected from The Statistics on Libraries in Korea, and were analyzed for a time series by using the Excel program. The result shows that there are great differences in major statistics of libraries in Korea due to the historical backgrounds and various political and social conditions of the country. The differences are also more likely related to the size of the library collections, budget and number of staffs.

As the use of electronic information sources becomes increasingly common, the need for understanding their use becomes critical. This paper describes what usage statistics of electronic materials entail, how they can be used for a variety of library decision making, and the process in which the data can be best acquired, processed, analyzed and presented. It also offers a general introduction to on-going standardization efforts related to usage statistics of electronic resources and services. Some of the research opportunities that these newly developed data sources present to library and information science field are identified.

The aim of this study was to investigate and analyze the changes in inputs and outputs for information-poor in public libraries to eliminate the digital divide. The survey and analysis was utilized indicators for the information-poor shown in library statistics. And through the analysis of statistical indicators, it examined the changing patterns of the elements that each library are inputted to eliminating the digital divide. As a result, it revealed problems such as regression of facilities for the aged and disabled, continuous decrease in the number of special materials for disabled person, and reduction of service users and budget for information-poor. In order to solve this problem and to achieve the desired performance for eliminating the digital divide. it's required the budget increase and strong policies for information-poor.

This study aims to analyze usability of public libraries' metaverse platform. This study also examines factors that affect usability and immersion of metaverse platform of Gangbuk culture information library, Hanbat library in Daejeon, and Mapo Central library. In order to conduct this study, 60 college students participated in online survey and experiment. There was a statistically significant positive relationship between learnability and usability, and between GUI and immersion in every library. Learnability and usability of Gangbuk culture information library were statistically significantly higher than other libraries. On the other hand, GUI score and immersion of Hanbat library was significantly higher than other libraries. However, given that there were few users connected to metaverse platform, there was no significant difference in interactivity among libraries. This study examines characteristics (including strengths and weaknesses) of metaverse platform of each library. It is expected that the results of this study could contribute to the improvement of usability of public library's metaverse platform.

The purpose of the study is to understand the present state of practical use of electronic journal usage statistics at the academic libraries. For this purpose the study performed an online questionnaire survey to the 63 academic libraries located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Based on the 48 responses, the study found out that the rate of satisfaction with the present usage data was low. Especially the rate of unsatisfaction with the absence of comparable data and the average usage rate of all the subscribing libraries appeared high. The study also examined 5 types of statistics for the evaluation of electronic journal.

The purpose of this article is to discuss about both historical progress and current situation of user instruction in Korean academic libraries. Emphasis was on identifying and analyzing the special features and limitations of user instruction from the viewpoints of library users as well as those of librarians. To the end, data were collected from three methods: the first tool was such major statistical sources as 'KERIS university library statistics system' and 'Research Reports' by the Korean Private University Library Association. The second was from the results of surveys and interviews with librarians from 20 university libraries. And the third was from the results of surveys with library users in two sample university libraries.
