This study aimed to investigate pre-service science teachers' perceptions of significance and usefulness of evolution and genetics. To this end, 82 pre-service biology teachers and 159 non-biology science teachers answered the items to measure the perceptions of significance and usefulness of evolution and genetics. The validity and reliability were examined using Cronbach alpha, two-dimensional rating scale model Rasch analysis, and factor analysis. The finding illustrated that the test items met the benchmark to be valid and reliable test items. Second, pre-service teachers' perception of significance and usefulness of evolution was independent to that of genetics. The level of pre-service teachers' perception of significance and usefulness of evolution was lower than the level of genetics. Lastly, the levels of pre-service teachers' perceptions of significance and usefulness of evolution and genetics were not significantly different across academic years and majors (biology and non-biology). The findings of this study stressed the importance of teaching significance and usefulness of evolution and genetics in pre-service science teacher education program.

As one of the essential elements of social work practice, knowledge articulates what the social work profession is doing and ought to do. With an emphasis on building a body of knowledge for the profession, this study analyses the nature of social work knowledge. First, the study examines concepts of social work theories and models, which are built around separate clusters of concepts from a broad base of theoretical orientation. The study reviews epistemological and ideological debates over how to perceive and approach social issues and the role of the social work profession. In organizing a clear conceptual framework for social work practice, different frames of reference and selective and fragmentary knowledge from other disciplines are considered barriers. For the development of a clear identity as a unified profession and the prospects of a value-based profession, more attention needs to be given to specify practical knowledge that is contextual and appropriate to practice settings and more sensitive to social issues.

It is significant that students understand why they have to learn mathematics, because such understanding has a powerful impact not only on affective but also on cognitive aspects in mathematics education. However, studies on in what ways students perceive the purpose of mathematics education are not sufficient. Given this background, this study examined 6th grade students' conception on the intention of learning mathematics by survey and Interview in order to raise subtle but important issues to improve mathematics education. Elementary students showed that they didn't perceive the multiple purposes of mathematics education. Their conceptions were focused on practicality, academic values and the preparation for the future of mathematics. Lower achievers had a tendency to relatively more negative responses to the purposes of mathematics education. This study underlines the importance of the purpose of studying mathematics on the part of students.

최근 E-Service의 기술 촉진이나 적용 범위는 점차 확대되어가고 있으나, 이에 반해 E-Service의 이론과 실행은 여전히 초기 단계이고, E-Service상의 서비스나 서비스 경험에 대한 정의가 부재인 것으로 확인되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 전통적 서비스와 E-Service의 차이점을 도출하여 E-Service만의 특화점을 학문적으로 확인하여 보고자 한다. 이를 위하여 E-Service의 정의를 우선 설명하고, 전통적인 서비스의 주요 특성 5가지를 활용하여 E-Service와의 특성을 비교한 후, 5가지 특성에서 각각 전통적인 서비스와 E-Service간에 어떤 차이점이 있는지를 밝혀보고자 한다. 마지막으로 E-Service의 가장 큰 특징인 기술과 정보의 만남을 통해 가치의 창조가 포함되는 점을 추가하여 E-Service가 기존 상품이나 오프라인 서비스에 대한 보완재나 대체제가 아닌 E-Service 만의 고유 핵심 가치를 보유하고 있다는 점을 이용하여 명백한 E-Service만의 우위 요소를 정의한 후 학문적으로 명확한 차이점을 밝혀내 보고자 한다.

동굴이 천연기념물이나 문화재로 지정되는 것은, 그 내부에 있는 화석이나 유적, 경관이나 형성체의 보존에서 뿐만 아니라, 학문적 중요가치를 지닌 동굴생물의 보존에 큰 의의가 있는 것이다. 더욱이 귀중한 신속, 신종동물의 모식산지로 지정된 동굴에 대하여는 우리의 민족 문화 가치면에서도 소중히 보존되어야 할 것이다. (중략)

켈너의 야심찬 저서는 '비판적 문화이론'이 덜 포용적인 탓에 미디어 문화의 전 측면을 다 보여주지 못하지만 '미디어 문화'의 입문.지침서 역할은 충분히 해내고 있다. 그가 내세우는 포스트 인식론에 대한 반감은 학문적 논의의 '아젠다'로서 충분한 가치가 있다.

지구상의 광물, 암석, 화석 그리고 지질구조, 지형 등의 개개의 지형 지질학적 요소의 특성과 다른 대상과의 상호관계를 지질다양성이라고 한다. 지질다양성은 지형 지질에 내재되어 있는 본질적, 문화적, 심미적, 경제적, 기능적, 연구 및 교육적 가치를 이해하고 보전함으로써 유지 할 수 있다. 이 연구는 지질다양성에 대한 흥미와 이해를 높이기 위해 학술적 보전 가치가 있는 강원도 영월지역을 선정하여 그 특징을 분석하고 지질다양성을 효율적으로 활용하는 방안을 제언하고자 한다. 강원도 영월지역의 지질다양성에 대한 조사는 지형경관 자원과 지질특성의 희소성, 대표성, 학문적 가치 및 활용가치에 중점을 두고 전문가와 협의하여 보존가치가 있고 지리적으로 접근하기 편리한 노두 8곳을 선별하였다. 선별된 8곳의 노두는 고생대의 암석과 지층, 뚜렷한 퇴적구조, 화석, 규모가 크고 전형적인 하천지형이 나타나는 곳으로 지질유산(지형 지질)의 내재적 가치와 지구과학적 이해를 도울 수 있는 대상지이다. 대상지의 지질다양성에 대한 조사를 토대로 야외 지질학습장과 지질공원 및 지질명소, 과학적 특별흥미지역 등을 개발하여 제공함으로써 지형 지질에 대한 자기주도적 학습 능력 신장과 지구과학에 대한 흥미와 이해를 증진시키는 장을 마련해 줄 수 있을 것이다. 또한 과학적 가치와 더불어 사회적, 문화적 가치를 부여하여 보전함으로써 지질유산(지형 지질)에 대한 새로운 시각이 생길 것이다.

Security Service is the study for social safety and maintenance of order. Compared with the industrial circle, it has only been 18 years, though, many-sided scholars have been interested in this field and tried. The present Security Service, however, has several problems, so it is difficult to gain recognition as the value of learning. To achieve this, several kinds of prior tasks should get solved. First, Preparation for agreement between Industry and University about the academic concept and establishment of range. Second, Set up the School Register System for the academic establishment of identity. Third, Preparation of the plan for the organization of education system. Fourth, Study Direction different from the industrial world. (Unconcern) Therefore, the alternatives centered on some prior tasks will be suggested to enhance the identity and value of Security Service as the study.

대학교육에서 교수는 무엇보다도 특정 학문의 전문가가 되어야 하지만, 이제는 학생들과의 인간관계에서 그 행위, 가치판단의 규범이 되는 모델로서의 역할도 소홀히 할 수 없다. 나아가 교수는 연구실, 강의실에서 유일한 리더이고, 학문영역에서뿐만 아니라 사회적, 정신적 영역에 관해서도 리더일 것이 기대된다.

관광지리 연구는 다른 학문에 비하면 그 연구가 미약하여 아직도 학문적 개척 여지가 많다. 선진국에 비하면 미개척 분야에 속한다고 볼 수도 있겠으나, 80년대 이후 상당수의 논문이 발표된 바 있어 이를 기초로 관광지리학 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 최근 국정지표의 하나인 문화관광진흥에 의하여 국가의 전략사업으로 관광사업이 비약적으로 발전함에 따라, 관광에서의 지리학 역할이 큰 비중을 차지하게 되었다. 이에 따라 응용 학문적 시각에서 관광지리 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는 경향으로 변하고 있다. 종래의 관광지 및 관광형태의 관한 개별적 지역연구에서 관광현상의 모태가 되는, 관광입지론적 연구가 활발해 졌다. 급전하는 세계화 속에서 시대에 부응하는 학문적 가치를 창출해 내기 위해서라도, 신속하고 정확한 관광환경에 대한 연구를 수행해야 한다. 관광지리학은 실증적 지역연구의 일환으로 그 방법론적 접근이 체계적으로 모색되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 관광분야에서의 지리학 역할의 중요성을 강조하고, 체계적 접근방법에 따른 관광연구 방법론을 제사하였으며, 장소 마케팅으로서의 지리학 연구방법도 제시하였다.
