An Analysis of the Construction Period Extension Causes of Environmental Improvement in School Facilities (학교시설 환경개선 공사사례의 공기연장 원인 분석)

  • This study analyzed the reasons for extending the construction period considering factors such as the quality of construction materials, safety and cost-effectiveness of construction, size of construction, academic schedule, and local conditions (complaints) when determining the appropriate period for school construction projects tailored to a specific region or educational office. Based on the example of construction projects for school facility improvement by education office A, this study conducted a case study to identify the motives for construction period extension. To determine the appropriate construction period for school facilities, this study conducted a comprehensive review of construction projects under the jurisdiction of education office A, examined data from the Meteorological Data Open Portal, and performed advanced statistical analysis. Future case studies must determine the appropriate construction period for school facilities in a rational and systematics.

  • This research addresses the types and causes of defects in seismic retrofitting projects of school facilities, which, following the Gyeongju and Pohang earthquakes in September 2016 and November 2017 respectively, have been identified as having comparatively lower seismic resilience among public buildings. The incidence of seismic retrofitting has notably increased in the subsequent years, raising concerns about the potential for defects arising from these efforts. The government has committed to enhancing the seismic resilience of all public facilities by 2035, with a specific focus on completing upgrades for educational establishments by 2029. Although prior investigations have explored construction defects in school facilities, there exists a gap in research specifically targeting defects within seismic retrofitting processes. Thus, this study aims to catalog the defects associated with seismic retrofitting efforts and analyze their underlying causes to identify crucial management strategies for defect mitigation. Furthermore, by examining the interplay between defect types and their causative factors, the study seeks to pinpoint essential management practices that could preempt defects during the construction phase, ultimately aiding in the reduction of future maintenance expenditures.

  • 경상남도 교육청에서는 지체부자유아와 정서장애와의 사회적응 훈련 및 특수교육에 이바지할 수 있는 교육시설확충과 여건조성을 위한 교육시설로서 유치부, 초등부, 중등부, 고등부가 함께 설치될 경남공립특수학교 현상공모를 실시하였다. 경남 창원시 명서동에 건립될 이번 특수학교 현상공모에는 총 7개 사무소가 작품을 응모하여 그중 예전종합건축(안)이 당선작으로 선정되었다. 본 당선작은 경사대지를 건축물과 유기적으로 결합시켜 동선의 원활한 처리와 토목공사량을 극소화시켜 공사비를 절감시켰고, 특수학교의 특성을 잘 반영시켰다는 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

  • In the buildings of educational facilities ordered by BTL projects, the competent authorities, private business, and users of school get to have a deep conflict, due to extra expenses resulted from shortening of construction period and establishment of temporary school building, and inconveniences users of school have to undergo during semester. This study aims at solving immediate problems in the aspect of construction method, proposing several alternative plans, including RC construction method generally applied to construction of the existing school, and modular construction method that is emerged as an alternative method for educational facilities lately, along with the method of construction appropriate for BTL projects of educational facilities, calculating cost of construction required for each alternative plan, analyzing and evaluating period of construction.

The Estimation of Construction Duration for High School Buildings Based on the Actual Data (실적자료에 의한 고등학교 시설 공기산정)

  • The construction duration for any building or facilities such as high school building influence the quality of the building as well as the total cost for them. Since there are no guidelines to estimate construction duration correctly, an employer(or owner) estimate it by their own experience or intuition. Therefore some conflicts related to construction duration happen between contract parties during construction. The purpose of this study is to suggest a predictive model which helps decision makers calculate exact net working days for high school building construction at the early stage of the construction project. To measure net working days for high school construction, 15 data were collected from actual spot in Incheon region. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to obtain the model which calculate construction duration for the substructure, the superstructure and the finishing works. total construction duration could be obtained by adding net working days to non working days which would be based on the meteorological statistics for Incheon region since 1974 to 2003.

  • 2009 As the School District is amended as a metropolitan area public development operators obliged to free supply of school facilities contribute to the streamlining of the provincial education funding, and although institutions shortly became implemented in earnest, the effect has been, despite a number of problems occur. In this study, analysis of these school facilities free of charge supply system on the status and problems through surveys, and suggests directions for future drafting and improving legislation.
