This study aims to examine the correlations between undergraduates' major-interest congruence and stress coping behaviors and major adjustment. And in order to find there is any group violating Holland's congruence hypothesis, this paper divides them into four groups according to the degree of major-interest congruence and major adjustment. Also, it examines the difference of stress coping behaviors among the four groups. The followings are the chief results of this paper. First, according to the result of analyzing the effects of major-interest congruence and stress coping behaviors on major adjustment, congruence did not affect major adjustment significantly. Second, according to the result of dividing them into four groups by the degree of major-interest congruence and major adjustment, there is one group with high congruence but low major adjustment and also a group with low congruence but high major adjustment. Third, according to the result of examining the difference of stress coping behaviors among the four groups by the degree of major-interest congruence and major adjustment, there is significant difference among the four groups. Above results imply that in major adjustment, we should consider factors other than major-interest congruence, and stress coping behaviors are particularly important for it. Therefore, it is necessary to train their stress coping behaviors and also develop programs to facilitate major adjustment. Also, it implies that in the use of Holland's theory, it is crucial to use it based on the client's various information and uniqueness rather than to apply it in a conventional or unconditional way.

This study was conducted to identify the impact on department adaptation of field practice adaptation, college adaptation, and awareness of death of nursing students, as well as to establish basic data for adaptation of the major, adaptation to field practice, and measures to raise awareness of death. The subjects of this study were 252 Junior and Senior nursing students living in C, J city. Data were collected after approval from the IRB of C University on April 30, 2018 and analyzed by the mean values, percentages, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression using IBM SPSS 21.0. The subjects' field practice adaptation was 3.58, college adaptation was 3.33, awareness of death was 3.15 and department adaptation was 3.38. There were significant correlations between department adaptation and field practice adaptation (r=0.56, p<0.001), negative of death (r=-0.15, p=0.016), respect for life (r=0.33, p<0.001) of nursing students, field practice adaptation and college adaptation (r=0.48, p<0.001) and respect for life (r=0.16, p=0.009) of nursing students and between college adaptation and respect for life (r=0.32, p<0.001) of nursing students. The factors that have effect on the department adaptation of the subjects; As a factor influencing the department adaptation, department adaptation, field practice adaptation, and respect for life were explained by 67.5% (F=171.67, p<0.001). Therefore, a positive attitude toward death and a curriculum related to change in perception must be provided to undergraduates to change the attitude toward death. It is also suggested that research regarding nursing department adaptation effects be conducted after implementing the program to improve respect for life.
The purpose of this study is to develop a mentoring program to assist freshmen who are part of the early childhood education in three year college in order to help them adjust to the major. Focus group interviews were conducted to find the difficulties that freshmen have experienced in adapting to their major. The results showed that the troubles freshmen experienced were grouped into intrapersonal, interpersonal, and support system problems. In order to help these freshmen, it is needed to reduce their difficulties and to offer an informational guide which consist of the contents to adapt them to their college life. The mentoring program for freshmen of the early childhood education In three year college have consisted of the guides helping the troubles of adaptation to their major and the information needed to freshmen. This study is tried to confirm the effect of practical education environment and practical stress perceived by nursing college students who have experienced clinical practice on department adaptation. The subjects of the study were 154 nursing students who experienced clinical practice at nursing universities in Area C. As a result of the study, there was a positive correlation between the practical education environment perceived by nursing students and department adaptation (r=.43, p=.001), a negative correlation between practical stress and department adaptation (r=-.15, p=.012). The practical education environment and practical stress were identified as factors influencing nursing students' adaptation to the department. Therefore, in order to positively improve the practical education environment, it is necessary to continuously train related factors that can help adapt to field practice and prepare measures to improve the practical education environment through close cooperation with practice institutions.
The main purpose of this study is to verify cause-and-effect relationship between the influential level of the academic self-efficacy, the expectation for academic outcome and the adaptation to the department for students majoring in sports. To meet the purpose, the survey was conducted with a random sample 514 students who are a major in sports and analyzed. The gathered data is analyzed through the confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis and path analysis using SPSS v18.0 and AMOSS v20.0. The result are as follows; The study shows that the academic self-efficacy had a statistically-significant influence on the academic self-efficacy as well as the expectation for academic outcome and had a good influence to students on the adaptation to the department. Moreover, the relationship between the academic self-efficacy and the adaptation to the department shows that even though the academic outcome expectation had indirect effects, it turned out to have a positive influence in statistically. As the conclusion of this study, it is more important to increase the academic outcome expectation to raise the department adaptation for the students who are a major in sports.

The purpose of this study is to examines the factors influencing college students' adaptation to College life adaptation, and to investigate the relationship between relationship between variables and College life adaptation. Structured questionnaire was given on 210 freshman, and data was analyzed using SPSS/WIN 22.0. There was a significant correlation between College life adaptation and Department satisfaction (r = .216, p <.001) and Ego identity (r = 395, p <.001). As a result of the statistical significance of the model predicted to College life adaptation, the F statistic value is 12.222 and the significance probability is .000. Variables have significant explanations for college adjustment at a significance level of 0.1. College life adaptation is also explained by 44% variable. If we develop the adaptation program for college life considering variables, it is expected that it will have a positive effect on the improvement of adaptation ability of college students.

The main purpose of this study is to provide the necessary information for educational intervention by discovering the components and factors related to the adaptation experience of male students in the department of nursing. The participants were seven male nursing students. Data were collected from in-depth interviews, and the results were analyzed by the Giorgi's phenomenological analysis method. The main components of adaptation experience of participants were summarized into four categories: 'hopes and expectations for the future careers,' 'conflicts and wandering under realistic issues,' 'compromise and emotion management,' and 'efforts for self-growth.' Causative, accelerative, and recursive characteristics were shown among these components. The adaptation process was structured in the temporal context. The results suggest that for amicable adaptation, internal controls, such as 'improving willpower,' 'inspiring solid career awareness,' and 'selecting adaptation strategy' were all critical. Moreover, the support of families, relatives, college seniors, and department professors were revealed as the factors that help in the adaptation experiences. Based on the results, further studies are required to identify the dropout rates by maladaptation of male nursing students, and analyze possible factors that contribute to dropout and maladaptation. In addition, it is necessary to construct various coping methods and practical support systems, as well as to develop appropriate educational programs.
Recently, the number of mature students who apply nursing departments is increasing due to the increase in lifelong learning needs and the high employment rate of nursing jobs. This study aimed to investigate the effect of self-efficacy, satisfaction in major on college adjustment among mature nursing students. Data were collected from October to December, 2021 and a total of 148 mature student participated in this study. The result showed that the self-efficacy was 3.69±0.51, satisfaction in major was 4.07±0.50 and college adjustment was 3.42±0.50. As a result of analyzing factors, grade(β=.20, p=.001), self-efficacy(β=.43, p<.001) and satisfaction in major(β=.37, p<.001) were significant predictors of college adjustment, and the explanatory power was 54%. Mature nursing students are expected to increase in the future, and based on the results of this study, it is suggested that mature nursing students improve their college adjustment by providing intervention programs that can increase self-efficacy and satisfaction in major.
