기존 목록의 모으는 기능을 보완하는 대안으로 하이퍼텍스트(Hypertext) 기능을 적용한 목록을 제시하였다. 관련된 문헌 상호간을 이어주는 링크는 서지적 관계 유형을 이용하였으며, 기존 MARC 포맷의 연관저록필드를 좀더 확장하여 6가지 서지적 관계를 모두 연결시킬 수 있도록 수정한 MARC 포맷을 이용하여 하이퍼목록을 구축하였다. 하이퍼목록의 인터페이스로는 상세서지화면에 나타나는 버튼을 통해 직접 관련자료의 간략리스트나 상세서지를 검색할 것을 제시하였고, 클리퍼를 이용하여 하이퍼목록을 구현하였다.

현재 수많은 상업포탈 사이트들은 다양한 서비스를 제공하기 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 다양한 서비스를 제공함으로써 다양한 소비자들을 더 수용하기 위해 다양한 기능들을 개발하고 있다. 이러한 기능들을 제공하기 위해 많은 양의 하이퍼링크로 연결된다. 이런 많은 양의 하이퍼링크들은 초기 서비스 웹 페이지 소스의 대부분을 차지하게 된다. 이는 웹 서버의 부하를 주는 것은 물론이고 사용자들 역시 그렇게 많은 링크 서비스를 필요로 하지 않기 때문에 많은 양의 링크들을 정리할 필요가 생긴다. 즉 사용자들이 빈도수가 높은 서비스에 대한 링크만을 연결함으로써 웹 서버의 부하를 줄이고 웹 페이지의 소스의 양도 크게 줄일 수 있다. 일반 웹 페이지의 소스를 렌더링하여 필요한 링크만 제공하는 구현을 통해 웹 서버의 성능 향상을 연구한다.

Conventional hypermedia systems provide a simple data model based on nodes and link, and give us the limited capability in information retrieval such as browsing and navigating following the links. In this paper, we design and implement a hypermedia system (AHEAD) with enhanced data modeling and querying capability, which are strongly supported in object-oriented database technology. The AHEAD makes it possible to model the accurate data semantics and relationships in application domain, to represent useful information related to nodes and links, and to define the structure and manipulation operations of multimedia data. It also support the various querying capabilities by using modeling information.

HyTime(Hypermedia/Time-Based Structuring Language)는 SGML 문서에 하이퍼미디어를 포함하는 기능으로 확장하고, 하이퍼미디어의 논리 구조를 기술하기 위한 언어로 1992년 4월에 국제표준으로 채택되었다. 기존의 문서들은 각기 다른 플렛폼마다 그들만의 문서포맷이 정해져 있는 이유로 상이한 플랫폼에서도 문서를 서로 교환할 수 있도록 하기 위한 SGML 표준을 채택하게 되었다. SGML 환경하에서 많은 문서들은 하이퍼링크와 멀티미디어 정보를 포함하는 문서로 발전하게 된다. 하이퍼미디어문서의 처리를 위한 표준으로 HyTime이 정의되고 많은 어플리케이션들이 이를 적용하고 있으며 하이퍼문서로의 확장을 위한 HyTime 엔진이 요구된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 하이퍼미디어 문서 시스템을 구현하기 위한 필수 요소인 HyTime 엔진의 설계와 HyTime 엔진의 처리 절차에 관해 연구하였다.

Hypermedia system supports associative linking concept for multimedia information using link and node concept, and overcomes the limitations of database system and text retrieval system in some application areas. This study shows the design and implementation of a hypermedia system which supports text, graphics, image and voice /sound information. This system has been designed to integrate the browsing and searching functions of the hypermedia system for efficient multimedia information retrieval and user-interface. To demonstrate the function and capability of the system, an application was made in the area of Bible and related information.

In the conduct of this study, a web-enabled healthcare system for the management of hypertension was implemented through a hyperlink-based inference approach. The hyperlink-based inference platform was implemented using the hypertext capacity of HTML which ensured accessibility, multimedia facilities, fast response, stability, ease of use and upgrade, and platform independency of expert systems. Many HTML documents, which are hyperlinked to each other based on expert rules, were uploaded beforehand to perform the hyperlink-based inference. The HTML documents were uploaded and maintained automatically by our proprietary tool called the Web-Based Inference System (WeBIS) that supports a graphical user interface (GUI) for the input and edit of decision graphs. Nevertheless, the editing task of the decision graph using the GUI tool is a time consuming and tedious chore when the knowledge engineer must perform it manually. Accordingly, this research implemented an automatic generator of the decision graph for the management of hypertension. As a result, this research suggests a methodology for the development of Web-enabled healthcare systems using the hyperlink-based inference approach and, as an example, implements a Web-enabled healthcare system for hypertension, a platform which performed especially well in the areas of speed and stability.

We propose an extended hypertext data model based on object oriented paradigm that can easily the real world and semantics. We use the BNF notation to formalize the model. In our model, We introduce conceptional navigation by associating semantics on links and drive intelligent navigation using weights on links to alleviate user disorientation problem which is currently somewhat vague. We functionally classify the hypertext node into three types:Indexing node, Content node, Extract node and likewise classify the link into Alink type, Rlink type, Slink type. We believe that the typed node and typed link approach accommodate efficient query/search in hypertext.

Hypermedia systems have the browsing mechanism using links and provide navigation tools to retrieve and represent multimedia information. In this study we designed and implemented a hypermedia system which has the hierarchical group and local map for effective navigation. We also propose the clustering mechanism which constructs a cluster tree and uses this knowledge for navigation. The system has been designed to integrate the browsing and searching function of the hypermedia system for efficient multimedia information retrieval and user-interface. This system can be used to develop hypermedia application systems in the area of encyclopedia, reference document information, electronic dictionary and electronic book.

Since e-Book has various advantages of hyper-link, multimedia function, dual-direction, etc, users can access to the system easily by touch method. XML has been established as the document standard of e-Book. For XML has hyperlink, style function, and structure it is suitable for knowledge delivery and expression. In this paper, we developed the Seoul's 1000 years time-capsule cultural contents into e-Book forms that can guide tourists. We also implemented the time capsule guidance system based on the e-Book of the user center through the modification process of the generated XML code using the e-Book solution.

In order to improve organizational performance, organizations should make a knowledge management system to share, distribute, and create related knowledge effectively in the operational process. It is not too much to say that organizational performance depends on the level of network and networking for the use of knowledge among the agents. Theoretically, a web portal is known as a useful instrument not only to link among the actors who have a specific interest and purpose but also to promote social networking which creates new knowledge relevant to user's environment. In the context, this article explored policy implications of building and operating government portals by analysing the efficacy of the "Innovative Portal", which the Korean government had opened to diffuse its innovation activities and to improve organizational innovation capacities in 2005, in innovation process from the knowledge management perspective. In particular, this study tried to identify how did the "Innovation Portal"influence network and networking of innovation knowledge using hyperlink network analysis method.
