  • 본 연구에서는 얇은 육각 기둥의 패턴을 이루고 있는 스틸제 하니컴형 보강재와 방청성 내진 모르타르 및 불연성 마감 코팅제를 사용하여, 철근콘크리트 기둥과 조적허리벽의 전단강도와 연성능력을 향상시켜 내진보강이 이루어 지도록 하는 방법을 제시하고 실험하고자 한다.

저NOx형 하니컴 촉매버너의 개발 (Development of a low NOx burner with honeycomb catalyst)

  • A catalytic burner was studied which can be used as a heater operated in medium temperature. Noble metal catalysts (Pd/NiO) were used, which were supported on alumina wash coated honeycomb. The maximum heat-resisting temperature of the catalyst is about 900.deg. C. Combustion efficiency of the catalytic burner reached more than 99.5 % at the excess air ratio above 1.25.NOx emissions were lower than 1.0 ppm at all operation conditions. The operation condition for a stable catalytic combustion was obtained. It was dependent on the catalyst thickness. The 30 mm thick catalyst showed the widest stable catalytic combustion region. Stable catalytic combustion region of 30 mm thick catalyst was the operation condition of excess air ratio 1.25 - 1.75 and heat flux 7 - 14 kcal/h center dot cm$^{2}$.

유한요소해석에 의한 하니컴 코어의 성형공정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Forming Process of Honeycomb Core by Finite Element Analysis)

  • In this paper, research on the manufacturing technology of hexagonal structure core is investigated. Also the optimal forming process of the honeycomb core is developed and the rolling process is analyzed using finite element code, $DEFORM^{TM}$-3D. The standard honeycomb has a uniform hexagonal structure defined by the material, cell size, cell wall thickness and bulk density. Honeycomb core products can be made from any thin, flat material. The most common cell configuration is the hexagon but there are many other shapes for special applications. Because of the precision shape and the thin thickness, the honeycomb core is not easy to manufacture in the metal forming process. Through this study it was confirmed that after the rolling process, the section of honeycomb close to the standard shape can be obtained. This result is reflected to the manufacturing process design for the honeycomb core.

플라이 애쉬를 이용한 코디어라이트 세라믹 하니컴 필터 제조 및 물성 (Fabrication and Physical Properties of Honeycomb Type Cordierite Ceramic Filter Using Fly-Ash)

  • The fabrication process of the honeycomb filter was investigated using synthesized cordierite with the addition of pore former and extrusion additives (either organic matter or graphite). Also, the effect of additives on the resultant properties of honeycomb filter such as porosity, thermal expansion coefficient and mechanical strength were investigated. With increasing the organic matter up to 10 wt%, porosity was increased but compressive strength was decreased. With increasing the graphite content, however, both porosity and compressive strength were increased. The specimen with an optimum processing condition (C-17A30G, sintering at $1150^{\circ}C$) was demonstrated 59% in porosity, 69 MPa in compressive strength, and $2.4{\times}10^{-6}/^{\circ}C\;(25{\sim}1000^{\circ}C$) in thermal expansion coefficient, which physical properties are appropriate for the honeycomb filter applications.

  • 경유자동차에 의한 오염물질의 배출은 주로 입자상물질과 NO$_x$가 문제시되고 있는데 특히 입자상물질은 각종 호흡기질환의 원인 등으로 간주되어 이의 규제가 국내외적으로 강화되고 있다. 본 고에서는 이러한 입자상 물질을 제거하기 위하여 사용되는 각종 필터의 특성 및 제조방법에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 경유자동차에서 발생하는 오염물질 및 이의 규제현황에 대하여 다루었으며 각종 후처리장치의 종류 및 개발현황에 대하여 언급하였다. 다음으로 가장 일반적으로 사용되어지는 필터인 세라믹 하니컴 필터를 중심으로 하여 원료 및 소재, 제조방법 그리고 열팽창계수의 조절 등에 대하여 논하였다.

대기환경 청정화 다공성 세라믹스

  • 저에너지 소모를 위한 대책으로 장치설비의 고효율화를 이루어 나가고 있으나, 고온 고압 등의 극한환경 하의 공정이 증가하면서 상기의 조건 하에서도 안정적으로 작동 가능한 다공질 세라믹스를 이용한 촉매기술 또는 포집 분리기술에 대한 필요성이 부각되고 있다. 본 고에서는 다공성 세라믹 소재가 특별히 유효하게 대응 가능한 대기오염과 관련하여 오염원 물질 및 오염의 실태를 살펴보고, 각종 다공성 세라믹스의 제조방법과 이에 따른 소재특성을 소개하고 시장의 현황과 전망을 정리하였다. 또한 다공성 세라믹 소재의 가장 대표적인 활용 형태인 하니컴 구조체의 제조방법 및 특성에 대하여 기술하고, 다공성 세라믹 소재의 실제 활용과 관련해서는 오염물질을 입자상물질과 가스상물질로 대별하여 대표적인 사용처와 소재를 수록하였으며, 차세대 신개념 필터로 연구 중인 반응소결 질화규소에 대해 언급하였다.

복합재 하니콤 코어의 형상가공 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Shape Machining Characteristics of Composite Honeycomb Core)

  • A composite honeycomb core is widely used for lightweight aircraft materials. However, the composite honeycomb core coupled with metal-cutting machining processes does not make a very good match. This paper describes an experimental study of the shape-machining characteristics of a composite honeycomb core, in which a five-axis gantry machine is used. The experimental conditions of the offset allowance, tooling condition and feed rate were applied. The shape machining characteristics of a flat surface, a vertical surface, and a concave surface are evaluated by comparing the machining shape and burr characteristics.

  • 경유자동차에서 발생하는 입자상물질은 대기오염의 주범으로 인식되어 국내외적으로 이의 규제가 점점 강화되고 있다. 본 고에서는 전 호에 이어 이러한 입자상물질을 제거하기 위하여 가장 보편적으로 사용되는 필터인 세라믹 하니컴 필터에서의 기공 및 필터특성의 조절과 설계에 대하여 언급하였다. 또한 그 외 각종 필터, 즉 세라믹 화이버 캔들 필터, 세라믹 폼 필터, 세라믹 크로스 플로우 필터 그리고 금속 필터 등의 성능 및 제조방법을 정리하였다. 이와같이 후처리장치용 필터로는 수없이 많은 필터들이 개발되어 많은 실증시험을 거치고 있으나 이러한 필터의 본격적인 상용화를 위하여는 재료 측면에서의 보다 많은 연구, 개발이 뒤따라야 할 것으로 판단된다.

소수성 HY-형 제올라이트제 하니컴의 제조 및 그 하니컴의 벤젠, o-xylene, MEK에 대한 흡.탈착특성 (Manufacture of the Hydrophobic HY-type Zeolite-honeycomb and Its Adsorption/Desorption Characteristics for the Benzene, o-xylene, and MEK)

  • We performed the experiments to manufacture the hydrophobic $200cells/in^2$-zeolite honeycomb using HY-type zeolite of Si/Al ratio of 80 for separating and removing the VOCs emitted from small and medium size-plants by adsorption and to determine the drying method for the honeycomb at $105^{\circ}C$ without cracking, then measured performances of the honeycomb to adsorb the benzene, o-xylene, and MEK and to desorb the benzene and MEK saturated on the honeycomb by the nitrogen gas as the desorption gas. As a results, the good honeycomb was formed and the honeycomb was not cracked when the mixing ratio of the zeolite to bentonite to methyl cellulose to polyvinyl alcohol to glycerine to water is 100 : 8.73 : 2.18 : 4.19 : 1.38 : 126 and dried the honeycomb at $105^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours in the drying oven. The shape of the dried honeycomb was not changed after calcination, and the compressive strengths of the honeycomb after drying and calcination were 6.7 and $0.69kg/cm^2$, respectively. The adsorption efficiencies of the honeycomb for benzene, o-xylene, and MEK were $92{\sim}96%$ at the room temperature. The desorption efficiency at $180^{\circ}C$ was higher than that at $150^{\circ}C\;by\;1.5{\sim}13.8%$ depending on the flow rate of the nitrogen gas, and it was found that desorption efficiency is higher than 85% at $180^{\circ}C$ and 1.0L/min of the nitrogen gas. At $180^{\circ}C$ and 0.2 L/min, the concentration of the benzene and MEK in the used desorption gas are higher than 40,000 and 50,000ppm, respectively, so it be used as the fuel for preheating the desorption gas fed into the column in desorption cycle.

  • One of the most critical issues in sol id oxide fuel cell (SOFC)running on hydrocarbon fuels is the risk of carbon formation from the fuel gas. The simple method to reduce the risk of carbon formation from the reactions is to add steam to the fuel stream, leading to the carbon gasification react ion. However, the addition of steam to fuel is not appropriate for the auxiliary power unit (APU) and potable power generation (PPG) systems due to an increase of complexity and bulkiness. In this regard, many researchers have focused on so-called 'direct methane' operation of SOFC, which works with dry methane without coking. However, coking can be suppressed only by the operation with a high current density, which may be a drawback especially for the APU and PPG systems. The single chamber fuel cell (SC-SOFC) is a novel simplification of the conventional SOFC into which a premixed fuel/air mixture is introduced. It relies on the selectivity of the anode and cathode catalysts to generate a chemical potential gradient across the cell. Moreover it allows compact and seal-free stack design. In this study, we fabricated honeycomb type mixed-gas fuel cell (MGFC) which has advantages of stacking to the axial direction and increasing volume power density. Honeycomb-structured SOFC with four channels was prepared by dry pressing method. Two alternative channels were coated with electrolyte and cathode slurry in order to make cathodic reaction sites. We will discuss that the anode supported honeycomb type cell running on mixed gas condition.
