The purpose of this paper is to find out the present status of core courses offered at the Departments of Library and Information Science. For this purpose, the core courses in the curriculum, which were compulsory ones in the 19805, are analyzed. The result shows that there have not been many changes in the core courses offered and that traditional cores of selection, organization, services, administration and information science-related courses are still strongly extant.

In this study, we examined the satisfaction level of J university's compulsory liberal arts subject with quantitative research. The results quantitative research are as follows. First, men are more interested in creative thinking, college life guidance and career path design than girls. Second, the level of satisfaction with the required liberal arts subject by grade was found to be without a statistical significant difference. Third, the satisfaction level of each line of learning was shown in the order of natural engineering, health and welfare, physical fitness, and humanities. The satisfaction level of the lines of learning was found to vary. Fourth, The satisfaction level of each campus was found to vary. The results of this study could be used as basic data to improve the college liberal arts curriculum, especially the compulsory liberal arts curriculum. The purposes of this study are to investigate Korean science teachers' perception of the current science teacher preparation courses in Korea, especially focused on subjects of science education, and to induce implications for improvement of in-service program for science teachers. To do this, a questionnaire was developed by the authors and administered to the 215 science teachers sampled nationwide. The study concluded that science teachers perceived that the two compulsory subjects, 'science education theories' and 'science teaching-learning materials and teaching methods' were not enough for a professional science teacher. Particularly, they consisently insisted that more practices under the relationship with teaching science in schools were necessary when learning subjects of science education. Based on science teachers' response, we recommended that the following 4 subjects should be added in the course of pre-service program for science teachers: 'Development of experiment/demonstration devices', 'Teaching creativity and education for the gifted in science', 'Development of science teaching materials', and 'Science inquiry learning and teaching'.

제 7차 교육과정에서 상업계 고등학교 컴퓨터 교육은 정보 처리에 관한 기초 전문 지식과 기술을 습득하게 하여 정보화 시대에 대처할 수 있는 능력을 개발하여 우수한 직업인이 될 수 있는 소양을 기르는데 초점을 두고 있으나 현재의 컴퓨터 관련 교육과정은 이를 따라가지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 시대가 요구하는 방향에 따라 정보통신 관련 교과목을 필수로 하여 멀티미디어, 웹 프로그래밍, 데이터베이스 등의 다양한 교과목을 추가하는 교육과정을 제안한다. 제안된 교육과정은 현재 상업계 교육과정을 향후 교과목별 단원 및 학년별 단위 시수 편성과 조정 등의 개선 방안을 제공하는데 있다.

This paper proposes a Database Curriculum for Korean college students in the IT section. Most Korean college students in IT area should undertake Database subjects. However they are supposed to encounter identical troubles when studying the subjects. This may come from Korean culture. Therefore we analyzed out key issues that students must beware, and designed a curriculum accommodating the Korean culture.

대학은 교육개선을 통하여 교육 수요자인 학생에게 질 좋은 교육을 제공함으로서 교육 만족도를 높일 수 있으며, 대학 경쟁력을 강화시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 교육개선의 일환으로 2010년부터 시행중인 전문대학교 공학기술교육인증(ETAC) 컴퓨터공학기술 분야에서 필수 이수 교과목인 종합설계의 대학별 운영 사례 비교 분석을 통하여 졸업생역량(PO)의 산학연계형 평가 방안을 제시하였다. 연구 결과, 종합설계 교과목 운영시 담당교수 이외에 산업체 인사가 참여하는 다면평가 방법과 더 나아가 종합설계 교과목 수업 운영으로 현장 실무자가 포함된 팀티칭 방법을 제안한다.

The purpose of this study was focused on finding out the effect of "Learning Strategies and Career Development" classes for first year student. To this end, I developed the learning portfolio based instructional method, textbook, learning portfolio, teaching guidebook and teaching materials. For the study, I conducted literature reviews, analysis of domestic and international best practices, expert advices and survey researches. This study implemented on 3,200 freshman and 72 professors of A university that is located at Gyungbuk. The results of applying research findings show that learning portfolio based instruction in "Learning Strategies and Career Development" classes is useful to improve first year students' competency of learning strategies and career search. And instructors can use the learning portfolio, teaching guidebook and teaching materials, therefore they are satisfied with the materials.

The main subjects of this study is to study the qualification and in-service education policies of the child care center staff and to suggest a desirable direction of policy. The main subjects of this study are child care staff policies and related laws. The results of this study shows that the philosophy, developmental psychology and some social backgrounds are the stantards required when designating the child care curriculum and essential subjects for attaining class 2 childcare teacher certificates. This study arises the needs of adjustment of the fields of the childcare curriculum contents, change between mandatory and elective subjects, and renewal of the subject title. The standards for competency in provision of childcare services of National Competency Standard(NCS) has to be considered in the adjustment process. The integrated teacher's certificate for teachers training system is needed in the reserve integration process. The systematization of the data and operating system is needed to manage the target of education efficiently, in order to develop childcare center staff's strengthening ability and professionalism. For in-service education, the diversification of the main body of operation, a periodical monitoring of the content, administrative and financial support are needed. Voluntary participation of in-service education, and the childcare center staffs professional development policy making supported by the government and parents is needed.

The railway is an important industry which quickly, safely and accurately transports a great deal of people and goods compared to other methods of transportation. Because there is not enough manpower in this field, professional engineers are urgently demanded. Although there are many people who apply for the professional engineer examination, they do not know how and what to prepare for it. This paper has analyzed the pattern of questions in the examination for the last fifteen years and the tends of the examination and the subjects which have been taught in the railway related educational institutions for the last five years. It suggests the compulsory subjects for the qualification and an easy way to get it for those who prepare the examination for the based on this analysis.
