한국의 도열병검정못자리에서 고도로 저항성인 공시한 20개의 IR계 수도가 핀립핀 IRRI(국제미자연구소)에서는 모두 이병성이었으나 9계통의 IR1317중에서 7계통만은 저항성이었다. 한편 20개의 IR계는 한국의 도열병균 레이스, 5개의 IG-1, 3개의 IH-1, 각각 한개의 IC-3, IC-4에도 모두 저항성이었으나 필립핀 레이스, 5개의 $P_8$,각각 한개의 $P_2,\; P_{87},\; P_{150}$에 대하여는 몇 가지 예외를 제하고 모두 이병성이었다. 그리고 도열병검정못자리에서나 각 레이스에 대한 온실검정에서 대조품종인 진흥은 IR계 수도와는 달리 한국에서는 이병성이었으나 IRRI에서는 저항성이었다.

The seismicity of the Korean Peninsula and its vicinity is investigated temporally (2 A. D. to 1978) and spatially to evaluate the seismic risk and to understand the neotectonics around the peninsula. The study has been conducted using macrocosmic data obtained from historical literature, and instrumental records recorded by the Worldwide Network of Standardized Seismographs(WWNSS). The seismicity of the peninsula was active from the 13th through the 17th centuries. A seismic quiescence began at the onset of the 18th century, and has continued for the last 200 years. Presently, the seismicity region is found to be active again. The return periods are determined by a statistical method based upon the cumulative magnitude recurrence. They indicate that the seismic risk is greater in the south or west than in the north or east of the peninsula. Focal mechanism solutions demonstrate that the neotectonic stress distribution in the Japan Sea is greatly influenced by the subduction of the Pacific Plate under the Eurasian Plate or the Philippine Sea Plate, even though the predominate local paleotectonics is controlled by the spreading of the earth's crut.

This paper analyzes how Korea's trade intensity with major ASEAN countries changed from 2000 to 2005. For this purpose, we measured the trade intensity index, the trade complementarity index, and the special country bias index between Korea and ASEAN countries by the trade intensity index model developed by Yamazawa (1970). The OECD trade matrix was used as data. We found that Korea's trade intensity with Indonesia increased from 8.91 in 2000 to 10.88 in 2005 due to a considerable increase in Korea's special country bias with Indonesia from 9.58 in 2000 to 10.75 in 2005. Therefore Korea's special country bias with Indonesia should be enhanced further by increasing capital movements and reducing discriminatory tariffs and other import restrictions between Korea and Indonesia. It was also found that trade intensity between Korea and other ASEAN countries (i.e., Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand) shows a similar pattern of the above trade intensity between Korea and Indonesia except the trade complementarity.
