Identification of Negative Stiffness Effects in Magneto-Rheological Fluid based Squeeze Film Damper (자기유변유체를 이용한 스퀴즈 필름 댐퍼에서의 부강성 효과 규명)

  • In order to investigate the stability of magneto-rheological fluid based squeeze film damper (MR-SFD), its negative stiffness effect, which arises from magnetization of MR-SFD, is identified theoretically and experimentally. The analytical model of MR-SFD includes the magnetic circuit as well as the displacement stiffness associated with the squeeze mode of MRF. Extensive experiments are carried out to measure the magnetic attraction forces generated in the MR-SFD, with the excitation frequency and the eccentricity of the journal varied, which are controlled by an active magnetic bearing. The simulation and experimental results are found to be in good agreement. It is concluded that the negative stiffness effect dominates only in the low frequency region because its effect diminishes in the high frequency region due to the eddy-current loss.

미세 피치 칩 온 필름 대응 신형 자동 결함 검출 시스템

  • 본 논문은 $24{\mu}m$ 이하의 미세 폭 및 $30{\mu}m$ 이하의 피치와 같이 미세 패턴을 가진 칩 온 필름(chip-on-film, COF)에 발생한 결함들을 자동으로 검출할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 개발된 검출시스템은 미세 패턴의 COF에서 발생한 개방 (open), 단락 (hard short), mouse bite 및 near short (soft short)과 같은 다양한 결함들을 자동으로 빠르게 검출할 수 있는 기술이 적용되어 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 결함 검사 기술의 기본 원리는 미세 패턴내의 결함으로 인해 발생한 저항의 미세 변화를 고주파 공진기 (resonator)를 이용하여 측정 주파수에서 증폭시키고 증폭된 결함 신호와 결함이 없는 경우의 신호와의 전압차를 읽어서 0이 아니면 결함이 있음을 판단한다. 제안된 시스템은 미세 패턴 COF 검사 과정에서 결함들을 신속히 측정할 수 있으므로 불필요한 COF 복사를 위해 소요되는 경비를 줄일 수 있으리라 기대한다.

Comparison of Heating Behavior of Various Susceptor-embedded Thermoplastic Polyurethane Adhesive Films via Induction Heating (다양한 발열체가 분산된 폴리우레탄 접착 필름의 유도가열 거동 비교)

  • The effect of nanoscopic and microscopic Fe, $Fe_3O_4$, and Ni particles and their shapes and substrate materials on the heating behavior of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) adhesive films was investigated via induction heating. The heat generation tendency of $Fe_3O_4$ particles was higher than that shown by Fe and Ni particles in the TPU adhesive films. When the Fe and Ni particle size was larger than the penetration skin depth, the initial heating rate and maximum temperature increased with an increase in the particle size. This is attributed to the eddy current heat loss. The heating behavior of the TPU films with Ni particles of different shapes was examined, and different hysteresis heat losses were observed depending on the particle shape. Consequently, the flake-shaped Ni particles showed the most favorable heat generation because of the largest hysteresis loss. The substrate materials also affected the heating behavior of the TPU adhesive films in an induction heating system, and the thermal conductivity of the substrate materials was determined to be the main factor affecting the heating behavior.

Effect of Antimicrobial Microperforated Film Packaging on Extending Shelf Life of Cluster-type Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) (천연 항균물질 미세천공필름 포장이 송이토마토의 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • To investigate the effects of the improvement of postharvest quality on fresh tomato, antimicrobial microperforated (AMP) films were prepared and their antimicrobial abilities were observed. AMP films were made by coating different types of natural antimicrobial agents such as cinnamon, clove, and clary sage essential oils into microperforated (MP) films. Cinnamon essential oil of 10% (v/v) has proven to be very effective as inhibitor of the mold growth on tomato, compared to the clove and clary sage essential oils. Quality changes of fresh tomatoes packed using the natural AMP films (AMP10 and AMP30) and MP films (MP10 and MP30) during storage were evaluated. Total microbial growth, weight loss, firmness, lycopene content, and decay rate as the major quality parameters were monitored over 9 days at $15^{\circ}C$. The oxygen transmission rates and mechanical properties between the natural AMP and MP films were also compared. There was no significant difference in change of oxygen transmission rate, tensile strength and elongation between the AMP and MP films. For storage studies, the freshness of tomato packaged in AMP30 film was higher than that in OPP film (the control), MP10, MP30, and AMP10 films. Especially, AMP30 film exhibited high efficiency compared to the control for tomato decay during storage periods. Based on the results, the microperforation and antimicrobial properties of the packaged films may significantly affect the maintenance of an optimum gas composition within the package atmosphere for increasing the storage life and quality of produce. They were also effective on the inhibition of microbial growth by controlled release of antimicrobial agent at an appropriate rate from the package into the tomato. Natural antimicrobial agent coating microperforated films could use potential functional package as a method of extending the freshness of postharvest tomato for storage.

Evaluation of Area Dose Product and Image Density according to the Variable Tube Current (관전류 변화에 따른 면적선량과 영상 농도 평가)

  • This research aims at measuring images density of according to DAP(dose area product), and suggesting the need to quality control of exposure dose. When tube voltage was fixed as 80 kVp and tube current was set as 1, 25, 50, 80, and 100 mAs, with the increase of DAP from 25 mAs to 50 mAs, the dose also rose 1.88 times as much as before, and with the increase from 50 mAs to 100 mAs, it got 2.05 time higher than before. However, the images density obtained as film grew as much as 48% with the increase from 25 mAs to 50 mAs, and 29% with the increase from 50 mAs to 100 mAs. In addition, it has been found out that the higher the DR images density got from 25 mAs to 50 mAs, the bigger it became by 12%, and that it got bigger by 30% with the increase from 50 mAs to 100 mAs. In other words, the differences in the image density by the increase of the dose with the digital imaging equipment in a proper condition was proved to be less than in the film images. Based on the results of this research, medical institutions using a digital imaging equipment are expected to be able to reduce exposure dose of each region of interest than now through the quality control of radiation dose.

  • 폴리비닐알코올[poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)]은 1924년에 Herrmann과 Haehnel이 폴리아세트산비닐[(poly(vinyl acetate)(PVAc)]의 비누화 도중 처음 합성되었으며, 2차 세계대전 이후 일본에서 비닐론 섬유용 수지로 상업화되기 시작했다. PVAc의 비누화로부터 제조되는 PVA는 흰색의 분말상 고분자로 필름 및 섬유의 형성이 용이하고 표면 활성도가 높으며, 기계적 성질 및 접착 강도가 높고, 용해도와 화학적 반응성이 우수하다. (중략)

  • 세계 최대의 도서전인 독일 프랑크푸르트 도서전이 지난 10월 12일 개막해 16일까지 열렸다. 올해로 63회째를 맞은 이번 도서전에는 약 30만 명에 달하는 관람객이 방문했으며 106개국에서 7384개사가 참가했다. 15세기부터 내려온 전통을 갖고 있는 프랑크푸르트도서전은 소설, 시집 등의 일반도서류를 시작으로 경제서적, 연구서적과 컴퓨터 및 기술서적을 비롯하여 아동도서, 예술서적과 필름, 라디오, 텔레비전에 이르는 다양한 품목이 전시되었으며 개최규모는 17만$2000m^2$에 달했다.
