Investigating an Automatic Method in Summarizing a Video Speech Using User-Assigned Tags (이용자 태그를 활용한 비디오 스피치 요약의 자동 생성 연구)

  • We investigated how useful video tags were in summarizing video speech and how valuable positional information was for speech summarization. Furthermore, we examined the similarity among sentences selected for a speech summary to reduce its redundancy. Based on such analysis results, we then designed and evaluated a method for automatically summarizing speech transcripts using a modified Maximum Marginal Relevance model. This model did not only reduce redundancy but it also enabled the use of social tags, title words, and sentence positional information. Finally, we compared the proposed method to the Extractor system in which key sentences of a video speech were chosen using the frequency and location information of speech content words. Results showed that the precision and recall rates of the proposed method were higher than those of the Extractor system, although there was no significant difference in the recall rates.

  • Even though the variable pitch control of a wind turbine blade is known as an effective component for power control over the rated wind speed, it has limited applicability to small wind turbines because of its relatively high cost on the price of small wind turbine. Instead, stall control is generally applied in the blade design without any additional cost. However, stall delay can frequently be caused by high turbulence around the turbine blade, and it can produce control failures through excessive rotational speed and overpowering the electrical generator. Therefore, a passive pitch control module should be considered, where the pitch moves with the aerodynamic forces of the blade and returns by the elastic restoring force. In this study, a method to calculate the pitch moment, torque, and thrust based on the lift and drag of the rotating blade wing was demonstrated, and several effective wing shapes were reviewed based on these forces. Their characteristics will be estimated with variable wind speed and be utilized as basic data for the design of the passive pitch control module.

A Fast Pitch Searching Algorithm Using Correlation Characteristics in CELP Vocoder (상관관계 특성을 용한 CELP 보코더의 고속 피치검색 알고리듬)

  • The major drawback to the Code Excited Linear Prediction(CELP) type vocoders is their large computational requirements. In this paper, a simple method is proposed to reduce the pitch searching time in the pitch filter almost without degradation of quality. Bease upon the observational regularity of the correlation function of speech, the searching range can be restricted to the positive side in pitch search. This is done by skipping the negative side with the width which is estimated from the previous positive envelope. In addition to that, the maximum number of available lags can be limited by the threshold, $L_T$, which is set on 58 empirically. So, only the limited numbers of lags are considered in pitch search, which is less than a half of that of the full search method. By using the proposed method in pitch search, its required computations are greatly reduced. Experimental result shows 51% time reduction almost without lowering the speech quality in segmental SNR measure.

  • As recent information communication technology is rapidly developed, a lot of researches related to speech signal processing have been processed. So pitch period is applied as important factor to many application fields such as speech recognition, speaker identification, speech analysis and synthesis. Therefore, many algorithms related to pitch detection have been proposed in time domain and frequency domain and AMDF(average magnitude difference function) which is one of pitch detection algorithms in time domain chooses time interval from valley to valley as pitch period. But, in selection of valley point to detect pitch period, complexity of the algorithm is increased. So in this paper we proposed pitch detection algorithm using rotation transform of AMDF, that taking the global minimum valley point as pitch period and established a threshold about the phoneme in beginning portion, to exclude pitch period selection. and compared existing methods with proposed method through simulation.

The Effect of Self-Esteem, Self-Efficacy, and Attributional Disposition on Speech Apprehension in College Students (대학생의 자아존중감, 자기효능감 및 귀인성향이 스피치 불안감에 미치는 영향)

  • The goal of this study is to examine the impact of self-esteem, self-efficacy, and attributional disposition on communication apprehension in college students. The research problems were verified by correlation analysis and multivariate regression analysis. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 239 college students. The findings are as follows: First, the higher level group in the self-esteem and self-efficacy have lower communication apprehension scores than the lower level group. Particularly, it is found that self-confidence in self-efficacy variables has the greatest effect on communication apprehension. Second, college students with high internal attributional disposition tend to feel less communication apprehension, while college students with high other's attributional disposition and accidental attributional disposition tend to have higher communication apprehension. Third, as a result of examining the relative effects of self-esteem, self-efficacy, and attributional disposition on communication apprehension, self-efficacy is found to have the greatest effect.

  • 시간영역에서 유성음의 피치를 조절하기 위해 한피치구간의 신호 중에서 성문이 닫힌 구간의 특성을 추정한 파라미터로 성문 닫힌 구간의 신호에 연속하여 선형적으로 연장 또는 축소하므로써 고 음질을 유지하면서도 자유롭게 피치를 조절할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법은 PSOLA 기법에서와 같은 window의 적용이나 신호의 겹침에 의한 영향이 최소화되므로 보다 명료한 합성음을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 필라멘트의 트위스트피치가 Bi-2223테이프의 통전손실에 미치는 영향에 대해 실험적으로 조사하였으며, 그 주요 결과는 Bi-2223테이프의 자기자계손실은 필라멘트의 트위스트피치에 의해서는 그다지 영향을 받지 않는 반면 외부교류자장 하에서 Bi-2223테이프에 발생되는 통전손실은 트위스트피치에 영향을 비교적 크게 받으며, 필라멘트의 트위스트피치가 작을수록 통전손실도 작아진다.

A Study on the Acoustic Modeling of the Emotional Speech (감정 음성의 음향학적 모델링에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 감정 표현 음성 합성 시스템을 구현하기 위해서, 감정 음성 데이터베이스의 음향학적 특징인 피치, 에너지, 지속시간, 스펙트럼 포락에 대해 분석한 결과와 문법적 요소인 품사에 따른 감정 음성 데이터의 피치 변화를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 기본 주파수, 에너지, 지속시간, 스펙트럼 포락은 감정 표현에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 전반적으로 화남과 기쁨의 감정이 평상과 슬픔의 감정 보다 피치 및 에너지의 변화가 크게 나타났으며, 특히 기쁜 감정의 경우 부사, 관형사, 연결어미, 조사, 접미사에서 피치 변화가 많았으며, 화난 감정의 경우, 관형사, 명사, 용언, 접미사에서 피치 변화가 높게 나타났다. 이러한 분석 결과를 적용해 감정 음성을 합성하기 위하여, 평상 음성에 각 감정 음성의 운율 요소를 적용하여 감정 음성을 합성하여 평가한 결과, 기쁜 감정은 기본 주파수의 변화에 의해 86.7%, 화난 감정은 에너지의 변화에 의해 91%, 슬픈 감정은 음절지속시간의 변화에 의해 76.7%가 각각 올바른 감정으로 인지되었다.

  • In this thesis, propose speech period and pitch detection for continuous speech recognition. This mathod is distinguishes between vowel and consonant to frame unit in continuous speech, for distinguishable voice. Powerful extraction of speech period could threshold energy make use of input signal to real noise environment. Also algorithm of this method distinguish between vowel and consonant at the same time in voice make use of zero crossing rate and short time energy to extractible speech period.

  • 본 논문에서는 음성합성기에서 합성음의 자연성을 향상시키기 위한 한 방법으로 운 율 제어요소중 세기 제어 모델을 통계적인 방법을 이용하여 제안하였다. 세기 제어 모델을 구성하기 위하여, 음성의 세기는 피치에 비례한다는 사실에 기반하여, 녹음된 음성 데이터에 서 음절의 각 모음에 대한 평균파워와 평균피치를 구하고, 피치를 종속변수로 하는 모음의 세기 예측식을 만들었다. 예측식에 의하여 얻어진 세기값과 실제 측정된 세기값과의 상관도 는 전체모음에 대하여 약 0.63으로 나타났다. 본 논문에서는 예측 세기와 실제 세기와의 상 관도를 향상시키기 위하여 피치만을 고려하여 예측된 세기값을 음운환경을 고려하여 선형 오차를 보정하는 방법을 제안하였고, 이 방법을 이용하여 얻어진 세기값은 전체모음에 대하 여 실제 세기값과 0.71의 상관도로 향상시킬 수 있었다.
