A study on the real time fetal heart rate monitoring system by high resolution pitch detection algorithm (고해상 피치 검출 알고리듬을 적용한 실시간 태아 심음 감시시스템에 관한 연구)

  • Despite the simplicity of processing, a conventional autocorrelation function (ACF) method for the precise determination of fetal heart rate (FHR) has many problems. In case of weak or noise corrupted Doppler ultrasound signal, the ACF method is very sensitive to the threshold level and data window length. It is very troublesome to extract FHR when there is a data loss. To overcome these problems, the high resolution pitch detection algorithm was adopted to estimate the FHR. This method is more accurate, robust and reliable than the ACF method. With a lot of calculation, however, it is impossible to process real time FHR estimation. This paper is presented a new FHR estimation algorithm for real time processing and studied the real time FHR monitoring system by high resolution pitch detection algorithm.

Effects of Bearing Internal Clearance on the Load Distribution and Load Sharing in the Pitch Reducer for Wind Turbines (베어링 내부 틈새가 풍력발전기용 피치 감속기의 하중 분포와 하중 분할에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • The pitch reducer consists of several planetary gearsets, and they should have good load distribution over gear tooth flank and load sharing among the planets to improve the durability. This work investigates how bearing internal clearances influence both the load distribution over the gear tooth flank and the planet load sharing. A whole system model is developed to analyze a pitch reducer. The model includes non-linear mesh stiffness of gears, non-linear stiffness of bearings. The results indicate that the face load factor and mesh load factor decrease, and the fatigue life of output shaft bearings increase as bearing internal clearances of output shaft decrease. Therefore, the internal clearance of output shaft bearing must be considered when designing the pitch reducer for wind turbines.

Heat Transfer Enhancement by Trapezoid Rods in Impinging Jet System (충돌분류계에서 사다리형로드에 의한 열전달증진 효과)

  • The objective of the study was to investigate the characteristics of heat transfer and flow in 2-dimensional impinging air jet system, in which trapezoid rods have been set up in front of impinging plate in order to increase heat transfer. Experiments were carried out first using without the rods to establish the baseline heat transfer performance. And this result compared with the experimentation with rods. When rods are installed in front of the impinging plate, the acceleration of the flow and the eddies due to the rods seem to contribute to the heat transfer enhancement. Heat transfer performance was best under the condition of C=1 n and as the pitch is 30 mm. In this case, maximum rate of heat transfer augmentation is about 1.62 times greater compared to that without trapezoid rods.

  • The convective heat transfer on the outer surface of tube arrays perpendicular to the flow direction was experimentally investigated. The test sections which include the aligned and staggered arrangements were made and the local heat transfer coefficients on the outer surface of the tube were measured after the Hour has been fully developed. The results showed that the local heat transfer coefficients of the staggered arrangement, which has transverse pitch of 0.075 m and longitudinal pitch of 0.08 m, were about 15% greater than that of the aligned arrangement. Also, the overall mom Nusselt number of the former was greater thu that of the latter.

  • The effects of monaural beating sound generated according to the number of tire pitch blocks to human body are measured from experiments, and the possibilities of similar positive effects of enhancing alpha waves in human brain are investigated. Due to the requirement of repeatability and measurement conditions, recorded sounds of the tire noise are used for the experiment in a quiet room and human responses are measured using HRV. Although the number of statistically meaningful results was small, it showed that positive human reactions are probably possible.

  • 본 연구에서는 가속도 센서의 값을 디지털 신호 처리 과정을 통하여 저역통과 필터(low pass filter), 벡터의 크기(vector magnitude), 롤(roll) 그리고 피치(pitch)를 계산하는 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 필터의 경우 IIR(Infinite Impulse Response)을 이용하였으며 차수는 9차로 하였다. 피험자의 연령은 $25{\pm}5$세의 10명을 기준으로 실험하였으며 앞, 뒤, 좌, 우 방향으로 직각 낙하하도록 하였고 센서 모듈은 오른쪽 허리의 정중앙에 착용하도록 하여 피험자간의 오차가 발생하지 않도록 하였다. 환자의 낙상을 검출하기 위해서 벡터의 크기를 사용하였고 롤과 피치를 이용하여 환자의 낙상 방향을 검출하였다. 결과적으로 피험자 10명의 경우 낙상의 검출률은 100% 였으며 낙상 방향에 따른 앞, 뒤, 좌, 우 판별 정확도는 95% 정도이다. 낙상 방향의 판별은 사고 후 환자를 다룰 때의 주의할 신체부위를 참고하며 재활 운동 시 하체의 어느 쪽이 낙상의 주요인인지 분석하는 보조 자료가 될 수 있다.

  • Application of wind turbine generator system (WTGS) needs researches for performance prediction, pitch control, and optimal operation method. Recently a new type WTGS is developed and under testing. The notable feature of this WTGS is that it consists of two rotor systems positioned horizontally at upwind and downwind locations, and a generator installed vertically inside the tower. In this paper, a nonlinear simulation software developed for the performance prediction of the Dual Rotor WTGS and testing of various control algorithm is introduced. This software is hybrid in the sense that FORTRAN is extensively used for the purpose of computation and Matlab/Simulink provides a user friendly GUI-like environment.

  • A steady prediction method of dynamic stability derivatives is presented in the unified framework of the unsteady Euler equations. New approach does not require any modification of the governing equations except addition of non-inertial force terms. The present methods are applied to compute the pitch-damping coefficients using the lunar coning and the lunar helical motions in the Cartesian coordinate frame. The results for the ANSR and the Basic Finner are in good agreement with the PNS data, range data, and the results using the unsteady prediction method. The results show that the steady approach using the unified governing equations in the Cartesian coordinate frame can be successfully applied to predict the pitch-damping coefficients.

  • B-dot logic is generally used for controlling the initial tip-off rate. However, it has the disadvantage of taking a relatively long time to control the initial tip-off rate. To solve this problem, this paper suggests a new detumbling control method to be able to adapt to micro/nanosatellite with the pitch bias momentum system. Proposed detumbling method was able to control the angular rate within 20 minutes which is a significant reduction compared to conventional methods.

  • The thrust vectoring concept has been used for use in new advanced supersonic aircraft. This study presents the performance characteristics of the thrust vectoring nozzle by visualizing the shock behaviors with Schlieren method. We performed experimental tests to see the geometrical effects of the thrust vector nozzle by changing pitch angle and length of pitch flaps. From this study we could understand the supersonic flow characteristics of the thrust vector nozzle. The total thrust of thrust vector nozzle is diminished by increasing the flap angle. But there is an optimum flap length ratio for attaining the highest thrust level and proper pitch effect.
