Effects of $K_{II}$ on fatigue crack propagation behavior of wedzone in generally rolled steel for marine structure (박용 구조물용 일반압연강 용접부의 피로균열 전파거동에 미치는 $K_{II}$의 영향)

  • An experimental study was carried out to identify the fatigue fractue behavior of weld zone in generally rolled steel for marine structure. The bending an shear loads were applied simultaneously on the specimens to simulate real load condition for marine structure. The effect of the stress intensity factor under mode I with II loading condition on the initiation and the propagation of a crack were investigated, with particular emphaiss on mode II. When the $K_{II}$ stress intensiy factor in mode II was applied under mode I load condition, the growth behavior of a crack seems to be affected mainly by the anisotropic characteristic of materials. Especially, when the crack was located in and near the weld zone and parallel to th weld line, the propagation behaviour was turned out to be quite different from that of the base metal along the direction transverse to the weld line. In general, the propagation veiocity of the cracks in and near the weld zone was found to be slower that the velocity in base metal.

  • 섬유강화금속적층재(Fiber Reinforced Metal Laminates. FRMLs)는 고강도금속과 섬유강화복합재료(Fiber Reinforced Composite Materials)를 적층한 새로운 종류의 하이브리드 재료이다. 국산 아라미드 섬유인 헤라크론(Heracron, 코오롱)과 국내 복합재료 제작기술(한국화이바)을 사용하여 섬유강화금속적층재를 제작하고, 이를 HERALL(Heracron Reinforced Aluminum Laminate)이라 명명하였다. HERALL(Heracron Reinforced Aluminum Laminate)의 피로균열성장특성 및 피로균열진전 방해기구를 ARALL(Aramid-fiber Reinforced Aluminum alloy Laminates) 및 Al 2024-T3과 비교해석하였다. HERALL과 ARALL은 균열진전을 저지하는 아라미드 섬유로 인해 뛰어난 피로균열성장특성 및 피로저항성을 보여주었다. 아라미드 섬유의 균열브리드징으로 인한 $K_{max}$의 감소량과 Al 2024-T3의 균열닫힘으로 인한 $K_{max}$의 증가량을 구할 수 있는 응력-COD법을 사용하여 실제로 균열성장에 영향을 준 유효응력확대계수범위를 측정하였다. 균열선단으로부터 균열을 가공하면서 COD 변화량을 측정하여 균열브리징 영역을 구하였다.

  • A composite piston with a crown made of steel and a skirt made of NCI is used in a marine diesel engine, which has a maximum firing pressure of over 180 bar and a high thermal load. In the fatigue design of the composite piston, the fatigue is influenced by factors such as the load type, surface roughness, and temperature; further, the distribution ratio of the firing force from the crown to the skirt is important for optimizing the design of the crown and skirt. In this study, the stress gradient method was used to consider the effect of the load type. The temperature field on the piston was predicted by cocktail-shaking cooling analysis, and influence of high temperature on fatigue strength was investigated. The load transfer ratio and contact pressure were optimized by design of the surface shape and accurate tolerance analysis. Finally, the cooling performance and durability design of the composite piston were verified by performing a long-term prototype test.

  • The necessity and importance of fatigue failure to variable load has been appreciated as the structural design technique develops and use of high tensile steel is increasing. This is much more appreciated for a large ship such as VLCC. The rigorous fatigue analysis and safety assessment should be, hence, carried out at the design stage to avoid the possibility of fatigue failure and to achieve the design result having a sufficient structural safety to fatigue strength. This paper deals with an efficient spectral fatigue analysis of ship structures by introducing the concept of stress influence coefficient. In the process included are probabilistic loading analysis, evaluation of long-term distribution of stress range and estimation of fatigue life applying the spectral fatigue analysis. An integrated computer program has been developed in which reliability analysis to fatigue strength is also included and has been applied to D/H VLCC.

  • The influence of mean strain on the behavior of early stage stress amplitude was investigated quantitatively in low cycle fatigue. It was obtained that the exponent of cyclic strain(n') and the coefficient of cyclic strain(C') decreased with increasing cycle numbers in compressive mean strain level. But it was the opposite in 0% mean strain and tensile mean strain level. And the cyclic yield strength ($\delta_(yc)$) was constant irrespective of mean strain or cyclic strain

  • The highspeed railway bridge which support continuous and high moving mass evalute the dynamic state and make the displacement of the bridge makes more or less, but up to this time the bridges are designed by the static design concept. for example when we design bridge we use impact factor, which only times the static load makes dynamic load. But becouse it simples. it can't express all of the effects. And so, in this report we study the modeling method of the moving mass and the dynamic factor.

  • It has been well known that the fracture mechanics can be applied to large through crack growth. But the growth rate of small surface cracks initiated from a small defect under rotary bending fatigue tests can not be treated as a function of stress intensity factor range. In this paper, to investigate the growth behavior of surface small fatigue cracks in the view-point of both fracture mechanics and strength of materials, the fatigue test has been carried out on two kinds of plain carbon steels with a small surface defect. Applying the concept of the cyclic strain intensity factor range .DELTA. $K_{\epsilon}$/$_{t}$ to the analysis of small surface fatigue crack growth, it is found that the relationship between cyclic strain intensity factor range and crack growth rate shows linear relation on logarithmic coordinates regardless of defect sizes and two kinds of carbon steels.s.s.

  • 본 연구에서는 저압 증기 터빈블레이드의 안전성 확보를 위하여 작용응력 및 강도의 변동성을 고려한 확률론적 해석을 수행하였다. 정상상태에서 작용응력은 이론 및 유한요소해석에 의해서 얻을 수 있으며, 최대 von-Mises 응력은 215.4MPa이다. 회전굽힘 하중하에서의 피로한도는 응력비 R= -1에서 계단식 시험법을 이용하여 구하였으며, 이의 확률론적 특성에 가장 적합한 분포는 3 모수 와이블 분포이다. 그리고 신뢰성에 미치는 다양한 인자들의 영향은 영향계수(sensitivity factor)를 이용하여 정량적으로 평가하였다.

  • 마이크로솔더링에 의한 전자기기는, 사회기능의 중추가 되는 컴퓨터, 통신 기기, 항공기 인공위성 등의 제어계를 구성하므로, 그 접속부에 대한 높은 신뢰성의 요구는 그 무엇보다 중요하다. 전자기기에 있어서의 솔더 접속부는 집과 기판의 전기 적.기계적 접속의 역할을 하고 있으며, 따라서 개개의 접속부의 파단은 전체의 불량 으로 연결된다. 실제 전자콤포넌트와 그 시스템의 단선 등의 사고에 있어서 자주 발생 하는 사고중의 하나가 솔더접속부의 단선에 의한 것이며, 그 단선중에서도 가장 보편 적이며 또한 대단히 심각한 문제로서 주목을 받고 있는 것이 솔더접속부의 열피로파단 이다. 전자기기를 사용할 때, 스위치의 on-off에 의한 power cycle과 환경의 온도변화 에 기인하는 반복열 사이클은 솔더접속부의 피로를 일으키게 되고, 결국에는 사용중에 파단을 초래하게 된다. 이러한 온도변화의 범위는 약 -55.deg. - 150.deg.C로 예상할 수 있으며, 여기서 최고온도인 150.deg.C는 Pb-Sn 공정합금의 경우 0.9Tm.p.이상의 고온에 해당한다. 이 피로는 등온적으로 또는 열사이클중에 발생하기도 한다. 솔더접 속부의 열피로수명은 대부분의 공업재료에서 나타나는 저사이클피로거동과 유사하게 발생하며, 솔더 접속부에 인가되는 열변형/응력(thermal strain/stress)의 크기에 크게 의존하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 솔더는 서로 다른 열팽창계수를 갖는 칩과 회로 기관의 두종류의 재료를 접속하기 때문에, 상기한 바와 같은 반복열사이클에 의하여 발생하는 열변형/응력이 접속부의 피로.파단을 야기시킨다. 이러한 솔더접속부에 대한 주기적인 응력/변형의 인가는 접속부에 내.외적으로 현저한 변화를 야기시키게 되고, 열피로로 연결되며 결국에는 시스템의 전기적 단선을 초래하게 된다. 또한 열피로파단 현상는 변형/응력의 크기 뿐 만아니라 솔더합금자체의 야금학적인 물성에도 크게 의존 하며, 내적.외적인 열변화에 의한 야금학적인 특성변화도 크게 영향을 미친다. 솔더 접속부의 신뢰성에 대한 연구는, 그 중요성에 비추어 볼 때, 지금까지 수많은 연구가 행하여져 왔다. 그러나 신뢰성과 관련된 열피로파단현상에 대한 야금학적인 면에서의 연구는 비교적 적은 편이다. 따라서 본 해설에서는 전자기기의 마이크로 솔더접속부 에서 발생하는 열피로파단현상에 대한 야금학적인 면에 중점을 두어 서술하고자 한다.

Effect of the change of second phase hardness on corrosion fatigue behavior of dual phase steel in 3% nacl solution (3% NaCl 수용액중에서 복합조직강의 부식피로거동에 미치는 제2상 속도변화의 영향)

  • The only hardness of 2nd phase of martensite in dual phase steel which was composed of the martensite and ferrite was changed. Fatigue test was conducted by cantilever type of self-made rotated bending fatigue testing machine. The corrosion fatigue fracture behaviors of dual phase steel were investigated in 3% NaCl solution at $N_f$ = $1.5\times$$10^5$ $N_f$=1.0 $\times$ $10^6$ cycles. The fatigue strength was increased with increasing the hardness of 2nd phase. The size and number of corrsion pits were influenced by the 2nd phase hardness and pits remain constant in size just after they were transited into cracks. The life of crack initiation was effected by stress level. The shape of relation of $\Delta$K and da/dn has smaller scattering in it in 3% NaCl solution than that in air. The higher the 2nd phase hardness is, the higher the corrosion fatigue life becomes. Corrosion fatigue fracture behavior was effected by mechanics in case of $N_f$=1.5$\times$10$^5$$N_f$=1.5$\times$10$^6$ cycles.
