A Study on the Fatigue Strength Reduction Factor under the High Cycle Bending Fatigue (고사이클 굽힘 피로에서의 피로강도 감소계수에 관한 연구)

  • 기구나 구조물의 피로수명은 노치에서의 피로균열 방생수명에 의하여 지배되기때문에 노치로 인한 피로강도감소계수 $K_f$는 피로설계상 대단히 중요한 인자이다. 노치 선단(Notch root)에서의 피로균열발생명수 N$_c$를 기준으로하면 탄성응력집중계수 $K_t$가 10 정도까지 $K_f$$K_t$간에는 거의 직선적인 관계가 있음이 이다- 고에 의하여 명석해졌으나 이는 인장,압축의 축력이 작용하였을 때이며 따라서 기구나 구조부재는 축력외에도 굽힘 피로 하중이 작용하였을때도 많으므로 본 연구에서는 굽힘 피로 하중을 받았을때도 있다. -고의 결론이 적용되는지는 검시코져 본 연구를 실시하였다.

  • 본 연구는 피로수명 평가를 위한 새로운 파괴역학적 parameter의 확립에 관한 연구이다. 실질적으로 피로파괴가 일어나는 피로 균열선단의 국소영역에서 변형분포를 미소원형격자측정법을 이용하여 실험적으로 명확히 밝혀내었다. 그리고 이 결과를 기초로 하여 국소피로 변형율장을 대표할 수 있는 피로변형율 확대계수 $\Delta$A를 제안하였다. 또한 새로운 parameter $\Delta$A의 유효성을 여러 피로조건에서 검토한 결과, 균열선단 국소 영역에서 피로 변형율 확대계수 $\Delta$A에 의하여 피로 균열전파 속도평가를 일의적으로 나타낼 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • During fatigue loading of composite materials, damage accumulation can be monitored by measuring their material properties. In this study, fatigue modulus is used as the damage index. Fatigue life of composite materials may be predicted analytically using damage models which are based on fatigue modulus and resultant strain. Damage models are propesed as funtions of applied stress level, number of fatigue cycle and fatigue life. The predicted life was comparable to the experimental result obtained using E-glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin materials and pultruded glass fiber reinforce polyester composites under two-stress level fatigue loading.

  • Fatigue behavior of carbon fiber reinforced polyimide composite materials was studied experimentally and analytically. The physical variables, such as cyclic displacements and hysteresis loop energy were observed during fatigue tests. Fatigue life of the investigated [0/90]$_{2S}$ laminates was predicted by H'||'&'||'H models which was proposed based on the fatigue modulus and resultant strain. The predicted fatigue life by H'||'&'||'H curves was reasonably close to the experimental data. Fractography study shows that fatigue failure mechanism of [0/90]$_{2S}$ laminated composite materials involves failure break, matrix tearing and fiber-matrix debonding as well as delamination of layers.

  • Fatigue life prediction of matrix dominated composite laminates, which have a nonlinear stress/strain response, was studied analytically and experimentally. A stress function describing the relation of initial fatigue modulus and elastic modulus was used in order to consider the material nonlinearty. New modified fatigue life prediction equation was suggested based on the fatigue modulus and reference modulus concept as a function of applied stress. The prediction was verified by torsional fatigue test using crossply carbon/epoxy laminate tubes. It was shown that the proposed equation has wide applicability and good agreement with experimental data.

  • In this study, the geometry of the weld is used to develop the process of fatigue life prediction. For the development of fatigue life prediction process, bending fatigue test of muffler is conducted to obtain M(Moment)-N(Fatigue life) diagram. Modeling the geometry of the weld which is failed is performed to conduct static load analysis and analysis results are used to calculate the stress concentration factor. The stress concentration factor is used to get the fatigue notch factor and this was based on the fatigue life prediction. As a result of the comparison of test values and predicted values, predicted values are verified.

  • This research is performed to estimate quality of trial pavement for construction and analyze effect of fatigue life by using the pay factor. Specially, asphalt content which is difficult to control the pavement quality, is selected by pay adjustment standard factors and pay factor is calculated by asphalt content. This research is also analyzed to present relation of fatigue life according to asphalt content, to evaluate quality of the road pavement by calculating pay factor of sampling trial field mixture 2 times. This research confirms that it is different quality of road pavement according to pay factor changes. To analyze the fatigue life of pavement by using asphalt mixture for trial field. As a result, it is conformed that high pay factor could be high fatigue life of trial field. This means that pay factor using probability theory reflects road pavement fatigue life. Also, this study is included that beam fatigue test manufacturing specimen such as mixing type of plant which purvey asphalt mixture to trial field, compared with fatigue life of trial field. As a result, the fatigue life of specimen that is manufactured by mix type is higher than trial field specimen. This means that performance of road pavement can be reduced by gradation or other effects. Therefore, to exactly evaluate the quality of road pavement, pay factor should be calculated appling various pay adjustment standard factors such as gradation, air-void in U.S. states which is adopted pay adjustment.

  • In this study, the 4-point bending test been performed in order to estimate effect of grinding on fatigue characteristics quantitatively for as-welded specimen, grinding specimen & TIG-dressing specimen for non load-carrying fillet welded joints subjected to pure bending. As a result of fatigue tests, fatigue strength at $2{\times}106$cycles of grinding specimen and TIG-dressing specimen has been increased compared with as-welded specimen and satisfied the grade of fatigue strength prescribed in specifications of domestics and AASHTO & JSSC.   • The objective of this paper is to identify the fatigue properties of carbon-fiber composite which is widely applied for the development of aircraft structures and obtain data for full-scale fatigue test. The durability and damage tolerance evaluation of composite structures is achieved by fatigue tests and parameters such as fatigue life factor and load enhancement factor. The specimens are made with carbon-fiber/epoxy UD tape and fabric prepreg. Fatigue tests are performed with several stress ratios and lay-up patterns. The Weibull shape parameters are analyzed by Sendeckyj model and individual fatigue lives with Weibull distribution. And the fatigue life factor and load enhancement factor considering reliability are evaluated.

  • 해양구조물의 원통조인트에 대한 피로 수명 산출이 전통적으로 실험적 방법에만 의존해 왔음은,원통조인트의 구조가 복잡하여 용접부위 균열의 응력확대 계수 계산이 거의 불가능 했든 것이 주 원인이었다. 최근에 유한요소 3차원 모델을 이용한 계산방법이 개발되어 심히 구조적으로 복잡한 표면 균열의 응력확대계수 산출이 용이하게 되었다. 해양 구조물의 원통조인트에 대한 피로 수명 산출법을 개발하기 위한 연속되는 3부작의 제1부로서 본 논문은 X형 원통 조인트 용접주위 표면 균열의 응력확대 계수 거동을 분석하고 있다. 분석결과를 이용하여 응력확대계수를 엄격한 방법에 의해 계산하였다. 계산된 응력확대계수를 구조적인 관점에서 해석하고 있다.
