Effect of Low Temperature and Single Overload on Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of Cr-Mo Steel Weldments (Cr-Mo강 용접부의 피로균열 성장거동에 미치는 저온도와 단일과대하중의 영향)

  • 일정진폭하중과 과대하중비 2.5의 단일 인장과대하중에 의한 4140강 용접부 의 피로균열성장거동을 실온과 -45.deg.C의 저온에서 피로시험과 파면관찰을 통하여 고찰하였다. 이때, 용접부 미시조직의 영향을 평가하기 위해 모재(parent metal), 열영향부(as-welded HAZ), 열처리된 열영향부(PWHT HAZ)로 나누어 응력비 0과 0.5로 CT시험편을 이용하여 피로시험을 실시하였다. 피로균열성장거동은 재료의 미시조직과 온도변화보다는 응력비에 크게 영향을 받았으며, 단일 과대하중에 의한 피로균열성장 지연효과가 모든 재료에서 상당히 크게 나타났다. 전자현미경에 의한 피로파면 관찰 결과, 실온에서는 연성의 스트라이에이숀과 -45.deg.C에서는 의벽개파면과 같은 피로 균열성장거동을 나타내고 있다.

  • 이재결합재의 피로시험에서 나타나는 피로균열성정거동은, 역시 균열선단이 결합경계의 근방에 있거나 경계상에 있을 때의 것이 균질재료에서의, 거동과 비교.검토되어야겠다. 이재결합재를 여기에서는 탄성계수 E 값이 동일(또는 근접)한 이재간의 결합재와, E 값이 현저히 다른 이재 간의 결합재로 나누어 그 피로시험예를 검토해 나가기로 하겠다. 또한 전술한 바와 같이 이재 결합재에 의한 피로시험 그 자체의 난전으로 말미암아 파괴역학적으로 해석된 이재결합재피로 균열거동연구보고가 극히 부진함에 비추어 여기에서는 주로 필자가 발효한 연구보고들을 바탕 으로 해서 검토해 나가기로 하겠다.

  • Since fatigue cracks in rail can be the source of fractures and subsequent derailments, quantitative evaluation of the fatigue behavior and fracture properities due to the analysis results of laboratory test are drawn on the basis for predicting fatigue life and making a decision of safe inspection interval. Charpy V-notch and fracture toughness behavior were evaluated from the results of Charpy impact test. Fatigue test was performed by using CT type specimen under constant amplitude loading, and finally the effects of the following parameters; crack orientation, temperature, and stress ratio, on the fatigue crack growth behavior were studied.

  • The effects of heat treatment and fiber orientation on tensile strength and fatigue behavior were studied in a continuously reinforced. magnesium-based composite Following an earlier TEM investigation, specimens were thermally aged to modified the interfacial zone between the alumina fibers and the magnesium alloy matrix. From the tensile experimental results, the ultimate tensile strength of the aged specimens were lower than that of the as-fabricated due to weak fiber-matrix interfacial strength with chemical reaction during the thermal processing. The fatigue crack growth experiments were conducted with specimens having the fiber orientation normal to the crack growth direction (longitudinal) and also specimens with the fibers oriented parallel to the crack growth direction(transverse). A comparison of the fatigue crack growth behavior indicates that aged longitudinal specimens are more resistant to fatigue crack growth the as-fabricated longitudinal specimens. Conversely, as-fabricated transverse specimens are more resistant to fatigue crack growth than aged transverse specimens.

  • 실온 대기 중에서 탄소강배관(STS370)의 피로시험을 행하였다. 배관에는 외부결함을 인공적으로 상정하여, 피로균열진전 및 관통의 거동, 균열형상, 누설 및 파단수명, 균열개구변위를 실험과 이론의 양면으로부터 비교·검토하였다. 특히, 배관의 벽두께 관통후에 있어서의 응력확대계수를 평가하기 위하여 새로운 식을 제안하였다. 피로균열이 관벽을 관통하기 전에 있어서는 판모델에 의한 Newman-Raju의 응력확대계수 평가식을 이용하므로서 aspect비와 누설수명 등 관통전의 피로균열성장거동을 평가할 수 있음을 나타내었다. 또한, 피로균열이 관벽을 관통한 후에 있어서는 본 논문에서 제안한 배관모델에 의한 응력확대계수의 평가식을 이용하여 관통후의 균열형상, 파단수명 및 균열개구변위 등 관통후의 피로균열성장거동을 평가하였다.

  • 실제 교량 바닥판의 거동은 반복하중에 의한 피로누적 손상에 의해 발생되므로 성능분석을 위해서는 피로 실험결과를 통한 구조거동 분석이 이루어져야 할 것이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 현재 개발 중인 초간편 강합성 바닥판의 피로성능을 파악하기 위해 일점 재하 방식으로 반복 하중을 재하 하였다. 실험체의 거동을 파악하기 위해 변위계를 설치하여 변위를 측정하였고 이 실험의 결과로 신형식 바닥판인 초간편 강합성 바닥판의 피로 파괴 양상을 알 수 있었으며 피로 곡선을 얻을 수 있었다. 하지만 바닥판의 파괴요인 중 외부 환경적 요인과 실제 차량 하중 이동을 모사한 윤하중 재하 시 피로 성능에 대한 연구가 추가로 이루어져야 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • Recently, as the concrete structures are becoming bigger, higher, longer and more special, high strength concrete is demanded. But the fracture behavior of high strength concrete is shown more brittle than that of the normal strength concrete. Therefore, in order to improve the brittle fracture behavior and crack propagation resistance, ACI Committee363 has been recommend the use of fiber reinforced concrete which showed superior property against the crack propagation resistance. On the other hand, bridges, concrete pavements and railroads etc. have been exposed to the repetition loading at least several million times during the service life. Therefore, fatigue load is dominantly most of all, but it is very difficult to estimate the suitable fatigue strength calculated by fatigue load. In this research, in order to examine the fatigue behavior of hybrid fiber reinforced high strength concrete, the static and fatigue tests were carried out. And from these results, it was estimated the fatigue strength of hybrid fiber reinforced high strength concrete.

  • This study investigated the fatigue test of domestic CFRP Tendon and anchorages. Test results revealed that fatigue capacity of anchorages with swage-type and bond-type satisfied the specifications. In domestic CFRP Tendon, fatigue strength of 1 million and 2 million cycle showed 992, 871MPa, respectively.

  • Recently, there were significantly increased cracks failure for external fuel tank horizontal fin of F-5 aircraft. In this paper, the dynamic behavior of horizontal fin was to quantitate by using Finite Element Method. To achieve this goal, the fatigue analysis for time and frequeucy domain has been performed by using the dynamic load spectrum of speed brake. In conclusion, it was proved that fatigue life of the horizontal fin was reduced by the influence of dynamic behavior.

  • The primary aim of this study is to investigate the probabilistic characteristics of the fatigue parameters that describe the fatigue crack growth behavior in magnesium alloy. Statistical fatigue crack propagation experiments have been performed on rolled AZ31 magnesium alloy CT specimens with different specimen thickness, load ratio, and maximum load at ambient temperature in a laboratory. Using the statistical fatigue data obtained from these experiments, the goodness-of-fit of the probability distribution of the fatigue behavior parameters is evaluated in this study by performing statistical analyses. The crack growth rate coefficient is a fatigue parameter having a very large COV(Coefficient of Variation), but the variation of a crack growth rate exponent is not substantial. It is considered that a crack growth rate exponent can be a material constant. It is also found that the best fit probability distribution of the parameters such as the crack growth rate coefficient and crack growth rate exponent for a magnesium alloy is a three-parameter Weibull distribution, and two-parameter Weibull distribution is a good distribution only for the crack growth rate coefficient.
