Suggestion of Procurement Strategy with Commodity Classification by Peter Kraljic Matrix (피터 크랄직 매트릭스 기법에 의한 자재 분류를 활용한 구매 전략 제안)

  • 구매자는 일반 제조업에서 자재를 피터 크랄직 매트릭스 기법에 의해 경쟁품목, 일반품목, 전략품목, 위험품목으로 분류한 후 각 품목 특성에 맞추어 구매 전략을 수립한다. 피터 클라직 매트릭스란 구매 리스크와 비즈니스 영향도 즉 특정 품목의 구매 금액 비중에 따라 자재를 분류하는 기법이다. 본 논문은 플랜트 엔지니어링산업에서 플랜트 기자재를 대상으로 피터 클라직 매트릭스 기법에 의해 기자재를 분류한 후 각 품목 특성에 맞는 구매 전략을 제안하고 사례 기업인 A사가 사우디아라비아에서 수행하는 발전 플랜트 기자재에 제안한 구매 전략을 적용하여 그 효과를 검증한 것이다. 플랜트 엔지니어링산업은 수주산업인데 총 수주금액 중 구매가 차지하는 비중은 약 50~60%이다. 따라서 프로젝트를 수행할 때 원가를 절감하여 이익을 극대화하기 위해 구매는 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 플랜트 기자재는 크게 회전기계류, 고정장치류, 전기자재류, 제어자재류, 배관자재류로 구분된다. 각 공종별 플랜트 기자재에 대해 구매 지출 분석을 한 후 피터 클라직 매트릭스 기법에 의해 플랜트 기자재를 분류한 결과 경쟁품목에는 열교환기, 저장탱크 등이 포함되었고 일반품목에는 전선관, 조명기자재, 밸브 등이 포함되었다. 또한 전략품목에는 가스터빈, 가스터빈 흡입공기 냉각장치 등이 포함되었고, 위험품목에는 가스터빈 고정 볼트 등이 포함되었다. 경쟁품목 중 다관형 열교환기는 공급자와 공동으로 원가 모델을 구축하는 전략을 수립했고 저장탱크의 경우에는 공급자에게 원자재를 사급하는 전략을 수립하였다. 그 전략을 A사가 수행하는 프로젝트에 적용한 결과 각각 20%와 6%의 원가 절감 효과를 얻었다. 일반품목 중 전선관은 구매 대행사를 활용하는 전략을 수립했고 조명기자재는 기술 사양 검토 과정을 생략한 구매 프로세스 간소화 전략을 수립하였다. 그 결과 약 10%의 원가 절감과 평균 5일의 발주기간을 단축할 수 있었다. 전략품목 중 가스터빈 흡입공기 냉각장치는 공급자와 포괄적 양해각서를 체결하여 공동으로 사업주에 대응하는 전략을 수립했고 그 결과 프로젝트 수행 안정성 확보와 공급자 조기 참여를 통한 발주 스케줄 단축을 이룰 수 있었다. 위험품목 중 가스터빈 고정볼트는 재고 확보 전략을 수립하여 자재의 부족이나 파손으로 인해 프로젝트 공기에 영향을 주지 않도록 리스크를 감소시키는 효과를 얻었다.

  • The underground buried pipelines of Natural gas are relatively safer than any other pipelines of chemical plants, because Natural gas is non-corrosive fluid. But Natural gas is supplied normally the downtown area. So, it may be a disaster because of corrosion which is caused interference facilities, environment and third party accident which is caused facilities construction. Especially, it is very difficult to find out and inspect damages of pipeline because of buried pipelines. Therefore this paper approached to select and manage risk region pipelines according to introduction of underground buried pipeline's risk concept. Risk was indicated three parts - corrosion factor, design and construction factor, maintence and management factor - in this paper, Therefore qualitive risk of pipelines showed score as quantitative number. Also it was thought to be helpful in confidence and safety management that the concept of key index and failure supplementation measures to cost introduces this program. We developed this risk assessment program using visual basic tool and interfaced GIS.

Analysis of hydraulic system for seawater desalination plant through piping analysis program (배관 해석 프로그램을 통한 해수담수화 플랜트 수압 시스템 분석)

  • In actual seawater desalination plant, the pressure loss due to frictional force of pipe is about 3~5 bar. Also, the pressure loss at pipe connection about 1~3 bar. Therefore, the total pressure loss in the pipe is expected to be about 4~8 bar, which translates into 0.111 to 0.222 kWh/㎥ of energy when converted into the Specific Energy Consumption(SEC). Reducing energy consumption is the most important factor in ensuring the economics of seawater desalination processes, but pressure loss in piping is often not considered in plant design. It is difficult to prevent pressure loss due to friction inside the pipe, but pressure loss at the pipe connection can be reduced by proper pipe design. In this study, seawater desalination plant piping analysis was performed using a commercial network program. The pressure loss and SEC for each case were calculated and compared by seawater desalination plant size.

  • This paper consider an initially deformed state caused by the pressurized fluid flowing through the pipe at a constant velocity. When the initial forte is neglected in curved pipes, the natural frequencies are reduced as flow velocity increases. However, when the initial tension took into account, the natural frequencies are not changed with the change of the flow velocity. As the internal pipe pressure is increased the natural frequencies are also slightly increased. In free vibrational simulation of piping systems in petrochemical plants, it is necessary to calculate the initial state force due to the velocity and the pressure of the fluid flow from the equilibrium first, then the force should be included in the equation of motion of the systems to get more accurate natural frequencies.   • A plant layout problem has a large impact on the overall construction cost of a plant. When determining a plant layout, various constraints associating with safety, environment, sufficient maintenance area, passages for workers, etc have to be considered together. In general plant layout problems, the main goal is to minimize the length of piping connecting equipments as satisfying various constraints. Since the process may suffer from the heat and friction loss, the piping length between equipments should be shorter. This problem can be represented by the mathematical formulation and the optimal solutions can be investigated by an optimization solver. General researches have overlooked many constraints such as maintenance spaces and safety distances between equipments. And, previous researches have tested benchmark processes. What the lack of general researches is that there is no realistic comparison. In this study, the plant layout of a real industrial C3MR (Propane precooling Mixed Refrigerant) process is studied. A MILP (Mixed Integer Linear Programming) including various constraints is developed. To avoid the violation of constraints, penalty functions are introduced. However, conventional optimization solvers handling the derivatives of an objective functions can not solve this problem due to the complexities of equations. Therefore, the PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization), which investigate an optimal solutions without differential equations, is selected to solve this problem. The results show that a proposed method contributes to saving the capital expenditures.

  • Pipeline is one of the most abundant components in petrochemical plant. It plays a critical role in transporting fluids. Some pipelines are thermally insulated by wrapping them with insulating materials to prevent the loss of energy. However, when corrosion begins under insulation, it cannot be easily seen without unwrapping the cover, and thus corrossion should be detected using a non-destructive ways such as ultrasound guided wave. In this paper, the piping where the CUI (Corrosion Under Insulation) which occurs in the insulation parts guided waves effectively the optimum condition which is theoretical for selected guided waves phase velocity dispersion curve and wave-structure. The results of this study are expected to be directly utilized for onsite inspection of pipeline's CUI in many petrochemical plants.

Location Estimation Method of Steam Leak in Pipelines Using Leakage Area Analysis (누설영역 분석을 이용한 배관 증기누설 위치 추정 방법)

  • It is important to have a pipeline leak-detection system that determines the presence of a leak and quickly identifies its location. Current leak detection methods use a acoustic emission sensors, microphone arrays, and camera images. Recently, many researchers have been focusing on using cameras for detecting leaks. The advantage of this method is that it can survey a wide area and monitor a pipeline over a long distance. However, conventional methods using camera monitoring are unable to target an exact leak location. In this paper, we propose a method of detecting leak locations using leak-detection results combined with multi-frame analysis. The proposed method is verified by experiment.

Effects of the Changes in Flow Pattern on Convective Heat Transfer in the Vicinity of Pipe Elbow (유동형태 변화가 배관 곡관부 대류열전달에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, by varying flow patterns, which is one of the hydraulic factors of FAC, a strategy to reduce pipe wall thinning by mass transfer has been investigated. A similarity between heat transfer and mass transfer was verified via theoretical analysis, and local convective heat transfer coefficients were analyzed using a commercial numerical analysis program. When ribs were installed inside and outside of the internal surface in the straight section of the pipe, the maximum local heat transfer coefficient was shown to decrease substantially by up to 24.9% compared to the basic flow depending on the position and shape of ribs. If a guide vein was inserted in the pipe elbow, the maximum local heat transfer coefficient decreased by up to 26.7% compared to the basic flow depending on the internal surface area of the pipe by the guide vein.

  • 미국과 유럽에서는 이미 10여 년 전부터 250MW급 이상의 대용량 석탄IGCC 플랜트를 상업운전 하고 있으며, 일본과 중국을 비롯한 아시아에서도 대용량 플랜트를 시운전하고 있거나 건설 중에 있다. 한국에서는 제4차 전력수급계획에 의거 태안화력 부지 내에 300MW급 IGCC 플랜트 건설을 추진 중이며, 두산중공업은 '10년 상반기에 IGCC 가스화 플랜트에 대한 FEED 설계 (Front-Eng Engineering Design)를 완료하였다. 그 과정 중 설계조건에 의한 기본 엔지니어링 사항과 석탄 가스화 플랜트에 대한 성능예측 결과를 본 연구에서 소개한다. 가스화 플랜트의 엔지니어링은 가스화 블록과 가스정제 블록으로 구분하여 수행하였다. Process Data를 이용하여 PFD Development, P&ID Generation, Equipment Specification 개발, HAZOP 수행, Architecture Engineering 등의 순으로 FEED 설계를 진행하였다. BOD (Basis of Design)를 기준으로 운전조건별 Heat & Mass Balance와 Process Flow를 재검토하고 각 기기별 운전개념을 반영하여 P&ID를 개발하였다. 그리고 배관, 전기 및 제어에 대한 각종 Diagram 개발과 HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) 관련 설계를 수행하였다. IGCC 1호기의 엔지니어링 수행과 함께 Next 호기 자체설계 역량 확보를 위해 두산중공업은 'DIGITs'로 명명된 개념기본설계 Tool을 개발하고 있다. DIGITs는 공정모델링, 단위기기 개념설계, 공정구성 (Process Configuration) 및 종합 Database Package 형태로 구성된다. DIGITs에 의한 계산 결과 공정사 Process Data 기준시 가스화 블록 출구에서 Syngas HHV와 Syngas 현열은 각각 약 $636MW_{th}$와 약 $18MW_{th}$로, Plant 설계조건 $630MW_{th}$를 만족하는 것으로 예측되었다. 향후 DIGITs는 가스정제 블록 및 주변 BOP 설비 등과 연계한 종합 개념기본설계 Tool로써 개발 진행 중이다.

  • Diverse stakeholders engaged in design, construction, and operation and maintenance of offshore plants typically operate heterogeneous plant 3D CAD systems. Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies are required to submit plant design result to the owner in the form of a plant 3D CAD model, as specified in the contract. However, because of the limitations of data interface of plant 3D CAD systems, EPC companies frequently perform manual remodeling to fulfill the terms and conditions of the contract. Therefore, comparison should be performed between the source plant 3D CAD model and the remodeled plant 3D CAD model to prove the validity of the remodeled plant 3D CAD model. To automate the comparison process, we have developed a system for quantitatively assessing the similarity of the plant 3D CAD models. This paper presents the architecture and detailed functions of the system. In addition, experimental results using this system are explained.
