Objectives : The purpose of this study was investigating the differences in temperament, personality, and cognitive function among athletes and non-athletes, as well as differences within athlete groups participating in different-paced sports like baseball and basketball. Methods : A total of 57 professional basketball players, 51 professional baseball players, and 44 non-athletes subjected to temperament and characteristics inventory assessments and computerized neurocognitive function test. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was employed to analyze the average differences in demographic characteristics, temperament, personality traits, and cognitive functions among the three groups, followed by Bonferroni post hoc tests. Comparisons between starters and non-starters within the athlete groups were conducted using the Mann-Whitney U test. Results : In the analysis of temperament, the basketball and baseball player groups exhibited higher reward dependence and persistence compared to the control group. Additionally, in the assessment of personality traits, both basketball and baseball player groups scored higher in self-directedness and cooperativeness compared to the control group, whereas self-transcendence scores were lower. In cognitive ability assessments, baseball and basketball players outperformed the control group in emotional perception tests. Both baseball and basketball players showed lower card movement counts compared to the control group. Conclusions : This study compared the differences in temperament, personality, and cognitive abilities between professional basketball and baseball players and non-athletes. These results provide valuable insights into the temperament, personality, and cognitive abilities of professional athletes, contributing important information for athlete development and coaching goals in the future.

The aim of this study was to investigate the psychological characteristics of Korean esports athletes. We investigated the psychological characteristics of 40 professional esports players and 72 amateur esports players, a total of 112 esports players. Specifically, we investigated the differences in emotional well-being, interpersonal relationships, and sleep between professional players and trainee players. Professional esports athletes showed higher responsiveness to social conflict and more interpersonal non-acceptance compared to the trainees. Results also indicated high levels of insomnia severity. Based on the results, the need for psychological intervention and sleep intervention for athletes were discussed.

This study was to explore the social network structure of professional volleyball players and analyze network variables and resource exchange. This study selected 127 players of Korean professional volleyball in ten team of male and female using the purposive sampling method. The research method utilized general social survey of NGQ(Name Generator Question) and interview. To analyze data, NetMiner 3.0 and SNA(social network analysis) were used. The conclusion based on above study method and the result of material analysis are here below. First, social network of professional volleyball players is scale-free network following power law. Centrality and herb of club members' network show up richer-get-richer and poor-get-poor by collecting links of back of beyond. Second, social network structure of professional volleyball players influence resource exchange.

At the time the interest and love of the Korean professional baseball is increasing, the need for effective recruiting method rising. Recruiting existing methods were scheme based on expert evaluation, to obtain the players of each team. However, the existing method does not reflect only objective rating but also subjective way of school tie and delays are effect. Therefore the conventional method could not be the efficient. Therefore this paper analyze Korea baseball player's efficiency based on entire team and each team by using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) method, and use this efficiency to discuss effective way of recruiting players. Finally, the validity of experiment is confirmed by the matters of actual sell of players who are scouted by experiment.

The purpose of this study was to prove a development and initial validation of the korean version of coach-athlete relationship maintenance scale that originated from the work of Rhind & Jowett(2012) in pro baseball. The items were then administered to 132 Participants(29 coaches and 103 athletes) completed the questionnaires of the coach-athlete relationship maintenance in First preliminary investigation. Maximum likelihood estimate was used to identify the latent underlying structure. In order to verify the validity of Korean version of coach-athlete relationship maintenance was administered to an independent sample of 273 coaches and athletes. Pro baseball coach-athlete relationship maintenance is consisted of six factors(25 items) with conflict management, motivational, preventative, openness/assurance, support, and social network. SPSS18.0 and AMOS16.0 were used to analyze the exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factory analysis and internal consistency, test-retest with bootstrapping using of the data in this study. The results of the pro baseball coach-athlete relationship maintenance scale had six factors with 25 items, and each six factor was positively correlated. Overall, this study verified pro baseball coach-athlete relationship maintenance questionnaire. Thus, suggest that path of comparing the differences between the first division and farm team by using the test of the structural model invariance across the groups.

출범 30주년을 맞은 국내 프로야구가 600만 관중을 넘어섰다. 국내 프로야구의 인기가 그만큼 높으며 식을 줄을 모른다.[7] 하지만 많은 선수와 복잡한 규칙은 새로운 야구팬을 주춤하게 만든다. 본 논문을 통하여 필자는 새로운 방식의 야구선수 분석 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 새로운 방식의 야구선수 분석 방법은 쉽고 간단하게 야구선수들의 특성을 분석하여 표현할 것이며, 야구를 좋아하고자 하는 사람들은 조금 더 쉽게 다가갈 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study was 1) to investigate professional sports fans' perception of immigrants and changes of athletes' nationalities, and 2) to examine how the fans' perception affected the perception of changes of athletes' nationalities. Results indicated that first the fan showed a neutral attitude toward the immigrants. In the results of the regression analysis containing foreign athletes naturalized as Korean citizens as the dependent variable, independent variables (i.e., gender and acceptance) explained 39.1% and 38% of the dependent variable, respectively, within [naturalization positive]. Within [naturalization negative] female fan and exclusive perception of immigrants positively predicted the objection to changes of athletes' nationalities. Lastly, in the results of the regression analysis containing Korean athletes who naturalized as foreign citizens as the dependent variable, fans who were older and rated higher on exclusive perception of immigrants had more negative perception of the dependent variable. Female fans perceived changes of athletes nationalities as personal choice.

The purpose of this study is to establish evaluation model that can explain marginal effects of baseball players of Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) on their team winnings in terms of productivity. We proposed econometric model with using variables that are provided from official homepage of KBO to overcome the complexity of mainly used productivity index: wins above replacement (WAR). Also, compare to the previous studies such as Scully(1974) or Krautmann(1999) that using limited indices of baseball stats, this study included 61 indices that are provided from official homepage of KBO. We estimated regression based WAR(RBWAR) by conducting panel regression with each team's statistics data of 2002 to 2014. As a results, RBWAR shows 0.869 correlation coefficient for batters and 0.882 for pitchers with WAR in 2014 that can be concluded that two indices shows similar results. From the results of estimation, we analyze the relationship between productivity and actual contract of free agent players in 2015 and it showed that teams have contracted reasonably.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the interaction between middle and high school archery trainers and players to the exercise satisfaction, trust and adherence. In particular, this study was to develop and examine a theoretical model through theory trimming. To achieve the goal of this study, some of the archery trainers and players participated in korea archery championship in 2007 were selected as a collected group. Total 220 participants were selected using the purposive sampling method to analyze the relationships between archery trainers and players. The data collection method was a brochure named 'the survey on the interaction, exercise satisfaction, adherence, Trust socio-demographic characteristics' Chronbach' a was calculated to check up the reliability and was $.661{\sim}.855.$. Reliability analysis, correlation analysis, SEM were used to analyze the collected data. The results were as follows. First, the interaction between middle and high school archery trainers and players influences on the exercise satisfaction. More interaction gives the players more exercise satisfaction. Second, the interaction between archery trainers and players influences on the trust for trainers. More interaction makes the more trust. Third, the interaction between archery trainers and players did not influences on the exercise adherence. Fourth, the exercise satis)action influences on the trust for trainers. More exercise satisfaction makes the more trust. Firth, the exercise satisfaction did not influences on the exercise adherence. Sixth, the trust influences on the exercise adherence.

We analyzed Korean professional basketball and baseball players salary under the assumption that it depends on the personal records and contribution to the team in the previous year. We extensively used data visualization tools to check the relationship among the variables, to find outliers and to do model diagnostics. We used multiple linear regression and regression tree to fit the model and used cross-validation to find an optimal model. We check the relationship between variables carefully and chose a set of variables for the stepwise regression instead of using all variables. We found that points per game, number of assists, number of free throw successes, career are important variables for the basketball players. For the baseball pitchers, career, number of strike-outs per 9 innings, ERA, number of homeruns are important variables. For the baseball hitters, career, number of hits, FA are important variables.
